Chapter 405: A backup plan

Barging into her room Sandra began to throw everything aside. She turned the entire room into a complete mess in her anger.

The scene she witnessed wasn’t able to erase from her mind. She was so enraged that she didn’t think twice to kill her own sister.

But unfortunately, she managed to survive.

After destroying everything around, Sandra pulled out her phone and called Lucas.

Lucas who had just left the shooting spot answered the call the moment he saw who it was.

"Tristan and Gabriel both are involved, so stop spying on them" Her words took Lucas by surprise but he maintained his composure.

He now understood why Gabriel was acting strangely with him the entire time, intimidating him with his words.

"So what should we do now," he asked.

"I think we shouldn’t delay the plan now. Let’s get it done as soon as possible" Sandra said with a deadpan tone and heard him agree.

Hanging up the call, she looked into the broken mirror and smile like a crazy lady.

"I know you still won’t love me even after I kill Ashley. So why not kill you both" Her eyes shined with pure evilness as she kept on smiling.

Sandra had now finally accepted that no matter what she does, Tristan will never love her. He would never give her the place he gave to his wife.

All these years she had been playing her games hiding behind her father’s security. But now it was time to show up. She couldn’t forever hide behind the curtains.

If she had to kill Ariana then she will make sure Tristan witness it with his eyes. The way he didn’t show mercy towards her, she would make sure he would suffer the same helplessness when he would watch his wife die.

Her love for him was gone and all she wanted now was to end them of both.

The man whom she loved like crazy never saw her worth. But she wouldn’t forget anything he did to her. If gave her to the cops exposing her crime, forgetting she was his friend.

Even after expressing her love for him, Tristan didn’t see her worth and looked at her like a criminal.

He forgot the friendship they share the entire time and handed her to the cops without showing any ounce of sympathy.

As she kept looking into the mirror the smile on her face slowly faded with her eyes welling up in pain.

Sandra remembered those days she spend inside that cell. There wasn’t a single day she never thought of him. Even after him betraying her, she still loved him madly.

If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t have agreed on betraying law enforcement following her father’s words.

But now not anymore, she wouldn’t let her heart come in between her revenge because now she was more than determined to end them both.

"See you soon Tristan" she muttered as she loved away and walked inside the bathroom.

Max brought Tori to his place. After whatever happened he couldn’t take her anywhere. His house was the only safest place for now.

Bringing the first aid box, he sat next to her on the couch and began to aid the scratches she received due to the fall.

"Don’t think too much. I have asked out men to find the car and the driver" Max wasn’t a fool not to notice the accident was done intentionally.

He had seen the car standing at a distance but the moment he stepped out, he noticed it speeding towards Tori.

It appeared to be someone was stalking her the entire time but decided to hit her in the change of mind.

" It doesn’t matter if we find the car or the driver because I know who is the person" Tori’s words stopped halted his action as he shot his head to look at her.

"What do you mean?" he asked a deep frown marred his face and his eyes turned cold the next instant.

Tori heaved out a breath when she noticed those deadly glares and muttered," Sandra.."

Everything started to make sense, as to why Tristan decided to meet her father in one of his secret places. He knew the place wasn’t safe but still, he asked her to arrange a meeting

It was all his plan since the beginning because he knew Sandra would try to stalk everyone including her father. And that’s what she did.

She followed her father to that place where she came to know about him and Tori’s meet-up with Patrick.

Sandra’s low Iow IQ would make her think that her father is betraying her by joining hands with them and in that fury, she would do something that would get her out of her secret zone.

On their way to the suite, he also texted her about the car and at that moment she didn’t know her sister was following them only taking his words as a piece of advice.

She couldn’t understand it at first but now everything was crystal clear.

Tori was so heartbroken that even her tears failed to come out of her eyes.

Her sister had once again failed her, breaking the little bit of trust she had for her.

Max who noticed the change in her expression, engulfed her in his arms as he carefully caressed her back.

"Are you okay?" he asked and watched her bury her face into the crook of his neck with her hands gently wrapping around him.

She didn’t say a word, just hugged him back.

After staying like that for some time, they pulled away with Max resuming back his work.

"You think your father will be able to convince Sandra," Max asked.

Tori told him everything that happened during the meeting. Just like him, even she wasn’t sure whether Patrick would be able to tackle her sister.

The way he questioned Tristan’s words there was a high chance about Sandra still going against their father’s warning. If not Tristan wouldn’t have come up with a backup plan.

"No-" she replied curtly.

"But I am sure by now she must have started to implement a plan and if I am not wrong the time isn’t too long for us to finally meet her" Tori smirked as she gave Max a meaningful glance.

After the lift incident, Karl maintained his distance from Gwen, only showing up when it was necessary.

He couldn’t forget the words she said as they were right. Even if they get back together their relationship wouldn’t be as pure as it was earlier.

Sitting inside her new cabin, Gwen was busy doing her work until lunchtime arrived.

Staring at the clock she heaved out a sigh as she thought about Karl. It was always them hanging out and having meals together, finding those smallest times to be with each other even with their busy work schedules.

Sadness marred her face as she pick up her cell phone and walked out of the cabin.

Gwen had lost the appetite to eat anything as every time she would have something she liked it would remind her of Karl.

As she stepped out onto the empty balcony on the same floor, Gwen sucked in a deep breath.

She didn’t want to be seen alone, so she decided to take fresh air. Leaning against the real she began to rack her phone watching her picture with Karl.

Her thumb instantly stopped scrolling when she noticed one of their pictures where they kissed each other.

"Wait a minute!... why is she in our picture" Zooming the image she noticed a faint picture that appeared to be just like Linda but then swipe it to the left a little and saw a man next to her.

’Could this be Ryan? The man Linda was talking with’ a thought popped into her mind as she recalled the conversation between Linda and the man named Ryan.

’Stop there Gwen. You have nothing to do with her. She had already ruined your relationship with Karl. Don’t hurt yourself dwelling into her life’

Pressing the back button she exited the gallery in her cellphone and turned the screen off.

Heaving out a deep breath Gwen closed her eyes and tried to forget about her.

"Why are you being hopeful Gwen? You have witnessed everything... then why do you still doubt it"

That day when her mother asked her if she genuinely loved Karl and trust him, she agreed without a second thought. But then she said something that left her questioning about her faith in their relationship.

Flung opening her eyes Gwen gasped when her mother’s words struck her like a bolt.

’You cannot believe everything you see. Sometimes things aren’t as they appear to be’

A moment of silence engulfed her heart as her brain began to rack on its own.

"What if everything I saw is fake? What if Ryan the man she was talking with is her boyfriend? What if everything that happened between her and Karl was an act put on to break their relationship?’

Gwen’s eyes widen in shock when she began to connect the possibilities.
