Chapter 403: Possibility
Chapter 403: Possibility
There was a pin-drop silence between the two as no one spoke. Noah kept caressing Alice’s back while she rested her head on his chest.
Both of their eyes were wide open as sleep was long gone and all they did was to look at a particular distance without blinking their eyes.
They did have sex but it was all for clearing up their mind from thinking about what happened.
Noah didn’t blame Alice for doing it, as he couldn’t bring himself to hurt her for such an irrelevant matter.
As they both lay in each other arms, Noah finally decided to break the silence and asked," The words... you said before, it wasn’t true right?"
Noah still could erase the words she utter out of frustration as it left a mark on him. Though he warned her not to say those words again, yet deep in his heart he feared, what if she brings up that topic again.
Alice stilled when she heard him but didn’t look up. her eyes fluttered when she remembered how she asked him to divorce her and how she regretted saying so.
She wasn’t thinking straight and said those words without concerning how it would affect him.
Alice knew they both need each other in their lives. They had come this long, fighting all the odds then why did she get scared of this one news?
"I am sorry..." she muttered as she let out a breath, finally lifting her head and looking at him.
The moment their eyes met, Alice saw the hurt in them and she quickly cupped his face, sealing his lips the next second.
"I am sorry" she again apologized.
Alice had always lost the ability to think straight whenever life lands her into a problem.
Instead of finding the right way, she always ends up running, saying words that always hurt him.
Tears welled up in his eyes but he tried to maintain his composure. Yes, he was hurt when she asked him to divorce, but what hurt him more was the fact that never considered his feeling whenever she said those harsh words.
It was so easy for her to break his heart as if it was nothing, ignoring the pain he would go through because of her hurtful words.
But as always, he would look past everything, trying to understand her knowing how much she had suffered all this time. His heart would never let him hurt her, because he knew she was his weakness and anything happening to her would eventually affect him.
Alice felt like someone squeeze her heart. Noah’s silence had now started to bother her. Just when she thought of speaking further, she heard him say,
"Dad said the chances of you becoming a mother is minimum but not entirely impossible. If taken proper precautions we can make through it" As soon as he said those words Alice’s eyes grew wide in shock.
Alice was so shattered by the results that she left the cabin in shock, never letting him finish the entire thing.
Noah was there when his father mentioned the possibilities. It wasn’t an entirely hopeless situation for them. They still had chances and the only thing they had to do is have faith in the process.
If not then they could also opt for adoption.
A ray of hope surged in Alice’s heart and she quickly pushed herself up to sit." Is there a way for me to become a mother?" she asked looking at him with expectant eyes.
Noah could see how desperately Alice wanted to become a mother and he was glad that everything wasn’t that hopeless for them.
"Yes...you still can become a mother, Alice. You can still carry our baby.." Noah declared and watched her burst into tears. She cried out of happiness as she pounced on him hugging him tightly.
"You aren’t lying to make me feel better right? Tell me you are saying the truth" Alice asked him again as she couldn’t fathom her thoughts and quickly pulled back.
Her eyes wandered through his face as it still felt like a dream to her. She had just found out that she couldn’t conceive but now her husband was giving her hope.
"Yes, you can Alice" he declared looking straight into her restless eyes.
Tears still kept streaming down her eyes and this time it was Noah who engulfed her in his arms.
Burying her face into his chest Alice cried her heart out. She was thankful to god that he still gave them the chance to embrace parenthood, even if they had to work hard for it.
Staying in each other’s arms they didn’t realize when sleep overtook their tired mind and soon they drifted off to sleep with the smile still lingering on their lips.

Gabriel reached the set but today it was Lucas who paid a surprise visit. It left him wondering why Lucas decided to visit the set, but then he couldn’t question him as he was the one who managed him with Max just being a tag-along.
"You should’ve informed me about your visit," Gabriel asked the man sitting next to him.
Lucas had been very quiet the entire time while his eyes were busy looking around. Something about him felt strange, so Gabriel decided to interrogate him.
The sudden question from Gabriel broke Lucas’s focus and he turned to face him.
Staring at his sharp eyes for a few seconds he then answered," Oh, I just came to see how is the shoot progressing" Lucas lied.
He would never let Gabriel learn his intention unless it was the right time.
"Hmm..."
"By the way, how are things going between you and Ashley? Is there any progress? Have you managed to gain her trust?" he asked out of curiosity.
Yesterday after almost getting caught, Lucas decided to follow Gabriel as he didn’t want to appear doubtful in his eyes. It was better if he had a solid reason for everything.
Gabriel squinted his eyes finding Lucas’s curiosity annoying but knowing how he had to be careful around him, Gabriel decided to speak the truth.
"No... I don’t think she is ever going to trust me, not after knowing I am the one who is after them" he said putting on a depressing tone as he watched Lucas carefully.
The curious look in his eyes slowly replaced with a confused one. ’But you both have been working fine" he stated.
Gabriel tilted his head as he found Lucas’s words a little suspicious, but the man was too dumb to realize it. He kept waiting for his answer forgetting how he was digging a hole for himself.
With him being this interested in his life only made Gabriel confirm his doubts.
Previously Lucas had never been this interested in his life. He kept on working for him as long as he got his reward. But as the days passed by with the truth revealed around him, Gabriel decided to be a little cautious.
There was something Lucas was trying to hide something from him. This new form of curiosity made him question his intentions and now all he had to do was to find the truth.
"It’s because we are professionals here and showing our differences will only push her away. I am just taking one step at a time" He stated without moving his eyes from him.
Lucas pursed his lips into a thin line when he noticed Gabriel’s piercing gaze.
"I... was... just concerned. It’s been so long since you are pursuing her" Lucas quickly change his attitude as he looked away.
Gabriel arched his brow as he watched him for a few more seconds before he asked," Why are you so interested in whether I have gained his trust or not?"
Lucas was caught off guard when he suddenly questioned him.
"J-just like that" he simply lied without meeting his gaze.
Lucas was intimidated by the way Gabriel was questioning him. He could sense the change in his approach but then Gabriel was always just like that scaring him with his gawk-like eyes.
He simply decided to shut his mouth and monitor the two, concluding whether he had somewhat joined hands with Tristan Knight.
Soon the director called Gabriel and he soon left from there, giving him a breath of relief. It was hard to remain unbothered knowing the person next to you was a maniac, but Lucas remained focused as it was his job to spy on Gabriel from the very beginning.
The entire day, he kept spying on the two trying to find the clues but to his dismay, he couldn’t get one. They just remained neutral maintaining their profession without showing any sign of friendliness.
Dejected by the view Lucas soon left the sets. It turns out to be a wasteful day for him as he couldn’t gather any important lead.
Meanwhile, outside a tall residential building, Tori was waiting for someone and soon she noticed a black Mercedes making its way and soon stopping in front of her.
Her eyes shined with confidence as she took a deep breath and watched the man step out of it.
"I hope I am not late"
