Back inside the room, Alice had fallen asleep after waiting too long for Noah’s return. While she was in a deep slumber suddenly the door to her room opened and someone walked in.

Brooke had managed to enter her room after getting disguised as one of the doctors. Before coming here he made sure to check the security around but when he saw that no one was guarding Alice’s room he quickly to the opportunity to sneak in.

Noah on the other hand had finally managed to coax his mother. Though she didn’t fully agree to his plan, still she ensured she wouldn’t do things behind his back.

While on his way back to the room, Noah stumbled with the guard he assigned to secure Alice’s room.

"Did you get what I asked you to bring?" Noah asked and the guard bobbed his head before passing a bag to him.

Alice was craving her favorite chicken porridge as she was tired of eating bland food. So Noah instead of leaving her side, he asked the guard to one for them.

Smelling the food inside the bag, Noah smiled and was about to praise the man next to him, when suddenly they heard Alice’s fearful voice.

Before he could register, Alice pounced on him hugging him tightly. Noah quickly motioned the guard and he soon left to check who had stepped into Alice’s room without their knowledge.

After examining the room, the guard returned and shook his head in no." Go and check the surveillance" Noah then instructed the man and he once again left from there.

Alice was trembling in his holds, and he didn’t want to force her to speak until she was calmed down. Caressing her back for some time, he finally saw her relax. She had her face buried into his chest as she didn’t dare to look up.

"Let me take you inside" he whispered next to her ear and saw her bob her head.

Carrying her in his arms, Noah entered the room. Alice still refused to look up and until she felt her body landing on the flat surface.

Keeping the bag on the side table, Noah then sat next to her. Alice was still shivering a little bit but it was high time to speak.

"Tell me who came here?" he asked keeping his tone as gentle as possible but anyone could sense the building rage in them.

Alice couldn’t forget the man who tried to force her once. Even when her eyes were closed, she still could feel the chills from those words, slowly shaking her entire being.

She opened her mouth to speak but words didn’t seem to come out. Noah on the other hand was losing his patience but still tried to control himself as he didn’t want to scare her then the way she was.

Watching her find it so hard to say made him retreat back. He was about to call the guard when suddenly he heard.

"Brooke, it was him" she finally said after mustering up the courage and raised her bloodshot eyes to face Noah.

Noah clenched his jaw in anger. If he wasn’t aware of the fact that his wildness will somehow trigger her, he would’ve hunted Brooke from any corner of the world and killed him then and there.

But he couldn’t, remembering the promise her had given to Alice. If not for her words he would have assassinated everyone who tried to harm her.

Sensing the dark clouds gathering around Noah’s sane thoughts, Alice let go of her fears and pulled him for a bone-crushing hug. She knew, he was finding it hard to control his rage in front of her and she was scared that if he happens to lose his cool, he would end up hurting himself.

"Did he hurt you?" he asked. His voice threatening like never before sending a shiver down her spine but she didn’t pull back and just kept hugging him.

"No, he didn’t. It seemed like he came to have to check on me" the moment she finished saying this, Noah immediately pulled back staring at her curiously.

"What do you mean?" he asked still not fully understanding what she meant.

Alice bit the inside of her mouth, contemplating to speak, but she had to. Taking a deep breath, she opened her mouth to speak," I don’t know if I heard it wrong but he mentioned Natalie’s name once."

Noah’s face turned, even more, uglier after whatever he heard. "So they aren’t just two of them who are trying to harm you, even Brooke is involved in it." he smiled humorlessly making Alice gulp at his darker side.
