Riel clutched his palm into a tight fist as his eyes fume watching Tristan enter the reading hall.

’How can he be the producer’

Before signing the movie, Riel had run a thorough check on the people whom he was supposed to work with. From the director to the spot boy, everything was looked over then how come Tristan turned out to be the producer?

Composing his pissed face, Riel clapped his hand and watched Tristan walk past him and stand next to the director.

Tristan’s eyes kept examining Ashley the entire time. He could sense the astonishment on her face but when their eyes met, a small smile appeared on her lips, which eased the uneasiness in his heart.

Tristan formally greeted the staff before the script reading began. Since Ashley was going to play the antagonist Lisa, she had to pay more attention to her expression and the depth of her voice.

Ashley had definitely taken her role seriously as she didn’t let a chance to prove herself. The pain, the impulsiveness, the anger, the agitation everything about Liza felt so real that not only everyone present inside the hall but even Riel was surprised by the outcome.

He had been with her through the sessions and never once had he seen what potential Ashley had within. But after today, he found himself getting more impressed by her dedication.

By the end of the scene, everyone was left speechless. The way Ashley performed her turn was rendered marvelous.

No one thought a newcomer would be able to pull off her character so well and they were happy that they took her on board.

Tristan on the other hand was admiring his wife the entire time. He knew Ashley was capable of doing anything in which she outs her soul and heart. No doubt Bernard was able to see through her talent.

He was so impressed by Ashley’s performance, that he didn’t realize when he started to clap and soon everyone joined him.

Everyone present inside the room was aware of the relationship between the two, but no one dared to utter a word, knowing the man had the power to destroy their career at the snap of a finger. But there was certain someone among them who was fuming in anger.

Riel kept darting his eyes between the two and watched them sharing glances at each other. So all his assumptions about Tristan were true. The entire time of his silence, he was planning to join their team.

Keeping the same neutral face, Riel then moved his eyes away from the couple and stood up for his performance. Since his character was a carefree person, it didn’t take much effort for Riel to impress the director.

An hour passed and finally, the script reading finished on a good note. The director and the producers were happy with the cast and they couldn’t wait for the shoot to begin as soon as possible.

Announcing the shooting date, the director ended the session and wished everyone good luck.

Ashley picked up her bag and was about to leave when Riel blocked her way." You did well. I was very impressed" Riel kept his tone softer as he took a step close to her.

"Thank you. You to performed well" she didn’t want anyone to notice the tension between the two, especially in front of the director.

Riel’s lips curled up into a mischievous smile and he slowly moved his eye from Ashley toward Tristan. No doubt he had his eyes on his wife the entire time.

"You man doesn’t seem to like our closeness" Riel chinned behind her back and she quickly turned and found Tristan glaring at them with murderous eyes.

Sensing the trouble, Ashley quickly excused herself," I have to leave" she mumbled and walk past him before Tristan marched towards them like a raging bull.

She knew her husband was a very possessive man. Thought in front of everyone he smartly concealed his jealousy but only she knew it wasn’t the case.

Biding everyone goodbye she stepped out of the room only to find Karl talking with one of the staff members.

The moment he notice Ashley approaching him, he quickly excused himself before walking toward her.

"How long it has been," she asked crossing her arms over her chest and stared at Karl with a penetrating gaze.

Karl gulped at the sight of her fierce eyes. He knew his boss was in big trouble but he also knew after understanding his reason she wouldn’t be this upset.

He was about to speak when he saw Tristan heading toward them which made him breathe a sigh of relief.

"Boss" he chirped, with his eyes sparkling as they stared at his savior.

"You should scare him Ash" Tristan stood by Ashley’s side and motioned Karl to leave. Understanding his gaze, Karl quickly left from there.

Pulling her by her shoulder, he then made her face him." What do you want to know?" he asked.

Ashley looked at him without uttering a word." Nothing" she said and turned to leave when she was pulled back with a jerk.

"Are you both close" jealously dripped from Tristan’s words, but Ashley chose to ignore them.

"Why do you want to know? It’s not like you don’t know anything about what happens around me" Ashley snapped taking Tristan by surprise.

Earlier Ashley found Tristan jealously cute, but now, she started to get annoyed with it.

"I know I should’ve told you about this earlier but-" Tristan stopped as he couldn’t let her know the real reason behind his sudden decision.

The resistance in his voice made Ashley smile humorlessly. He had no answer for this. Great.

"See you have nothing to say" Ashley muttered sadly and pulled out her hand from his hold.

"Let’s be strangers to each other on the set. I don’t want to catch unwanted attention" with this Ashley turned and left from there leaving Tristan speechless.

Dropping his shoulder in defeat, Tristan watched Ashley walk away from him furiously. He was still coping with her upset behavior when someone’s voice snapped him out of his trance.

"Tsk, tsk. Look how badly you upset your wife, Tristan" Riel spoke with his fake concern.

The moment he had seen Tristan leave the second Ashley walked out, he decided to follow them.

Tristan clench his jaw firmly and turn to look at Riel who smiled at him mockingly. He wouldn’t have taken his words seriously only if they shared the same friendly bond as before. But now everything between changed. Once friends turn into rivals because of someone who managed to create a drift between them.

"Your habit of eavesdropping didn’t change even after so many years, Gabriel" Tristan dropped his anger and pulled out a smile only to see Riel’s lips twitch at his remark.
