Chapter 275: Successful

"W-what is he saying?" Natalie asked Avera as soon as she registered his words.

Brooke looked at the confused girls and understood that they weren’t aware of the news. What kind of revenge they were going to take when they don’t even know what was happening behind their back?

Avera was just as shocked as her. She had been keeping an eye on the couples then how come she wasn’t informed of this big information?

"I need to confirm" she mumbled and quickly called her informer and after running a few checks he confirmed the news. The couple was going to get their marriage registered the day after tomorrow and soon they would be having a grand reception.

Natalie had been observing Avera’s every move and when she gave her a horrified look everything came crashing down her feet.

"T-this can’t be true. Tell me it’s not true. How can they get married and that too so early" Natalie raised her voice as she marched towards Avera and held her shoulder shaking it vigorously. She promised to help her in getting Noah, but then how come everything turned different?

"You promised to help me, Avera, now you have to do something, or else... or else I will destroy you" Natalie didn’t realize what she was blabbering in her anger. All she could think of right now was to stop them both from getting hitched.

She had been desiring Noah for so long that she even imagined themselves spending their lives together. He was only hers and that was carved like a tattoo in her heart and no one... means no one was allowed to get what belongs to her.

Surprised by Natalie’s outburst, Avera quickly composed herself and jerked her hands off her shoulder. She could see the girl had lost her mind and was talking rubbish. To stop herself from going further, she raised her hand and slapped her right on her face shocking everyone around.

"Just shut up your f***king mouth" Avera too lost her cool because of the foolish words she kept hearing from Natalie’s mouth. She spat about destroying her but was the girl even in the state to stand against her?

She was just a drug addict lady who had this obsession with Noah, apart from that the girl had no value. She was just good for nothing. If not for her revenge, she wouldn’t have entertained the girl and now regretted approaching her.

Shooting a glare at her, she watched Natalie clench her jaws. She had enough of the girl and she didn’t care how murderously she gawked at her.

"You can’t keep overreacting like this. Just for once use your f**king brain. Think about how we can stop their marriage"

Avera tried to put some brain in her head. She felt like she had been babysitting a spoiled child, who kept causing trouble and now she had no other choice but to scold her. Whether she liked it or not, she had to think wisely without ruining anything.

Looking away from her, Natalie kept huffing. She couldn’t digest the fact that Noah will never be hers. She had been madly desiring him and she wasn’t going to stop even if she had to go against Avera.

After the dinner, Gwen and Karl were the first to leave while Tristan and Ashley stayed at Alice’s place for some time.

Inside the moving car, Karl had been scrolling something on his phone using his left hand while his right had held the steering wheel as he kept glancing at the road simultaneously.

"What’s so important in your phone that you opt for multi-tasking?" Gwen’s displeased voice snapped his eyes from the phone and he looked at her with a surprised face.

"Huh!... nothing." He said and quickly turn off his phone and concentrated on driving.

Gwen narrowed her eyes staring at him for some time before she looked away. The moment they hopped into the car, instead of chatting with her, Karl kept himself busy looking inside his phone.

Soon reaching the Knight Mansion, Gwen stepped out and was about to leave when Karl stopped her.

"You won’t even kiss me goodnight" Gwen wanted to throw tantrum but the moment his gentle voice reached her ears all her annoyance flew out of the window.

’This man...’ having no heart to be upset with him Gwen slowly leaned forwards and sealed his lips giving him a goodnight kiss.

Watching her step out of the car with a smile made Karl feel at ease. Once she entered the house, he quickly pulled out his phone and the smile on his lips broadened even more.

"I hope she likes it" he mumbled and turned on his car before driving out of the Knight’s property.

Alice apartment

Ashley was helping Alice clean the plates when her phone rang and she excused herself.

"Yes, Jack. Did you find what I asked for?" she asked.

Alice stopped her work and turned around watching Ashley’s back. Her palm circled into a tight fist as she began to feel anxious about the feedback.

"Hmm, okay. Thanks for the help" she heard Ashley speak and once she was turned she ended the call and turned around only to find Alice’s worried face.

"What did he say?" she asked, silently praying inside her heart.

"He checked all the footage and there was no sign of Brooke anywhere which means it was all your imagination" Ashley declared calmly and watched Alice heave out a sigh of relief.

Unclutching her fist she closed her eyes. She thanked god for not letting her past haunt her again but then why did she suddenly remember him after all these days?

Alice quickly brushed off that doubtful thought and focus on what Ashley confirmed to her a while back and everything turned back to normal for her.

Soon Ashley and Tristan bid goodbye to the couple and the house became silent once again.

"Everyone enjoyed the dinner," Noah said wrapping his arms around Alice and placed a light kiss on her temple.

"Hmm," she hummed, and before she could answer Noah bend down and picked her up in his arms.

"You must be tired after so much cooking," he said and carried her into their room.

Placing her on the bed, Noah too hoped in and pulled her in his embrace. He was grateful that Alice gave him the honor to spend his life with her. He will always be thankful to god for letting their paths cross, if not he would have been the same old Noah wasting his time fooling around.

"Thank you," he said after a long pause.

Alice crane her head and found Noah already looking at her. His eyes were a little misty and he tried to fight back his tears.

Quickly reaching her hand, Alice cupped his face and watched the unshed tear roll down from the corner of his eyes and she slowly wiped it off using her thumb.

"Thank you for coming into my life, for making me see through a happy life, for making me believe that even I can be lovable" Alice too was grateful to have Noah in her life. If not for his constant love and care she wouldn’t have been able to get out of her pathetic life.

Bringing her cupped palm close to his lips Noah kissed it. His eyes never parted from her face as he if was capturing every small detail on her face. They thought that everything was fine now but little did they know someone was planning something vicious against them.

The next morning Dante was taken in for surgery. Everyone was present, praying and hoping for the surgery to succeed. It went on for more than five hours when finally the red light outside the OT turned off and Taylor walked out.

"How is he?" Tristan asked.

Taylor watched the hopeful eyes and the seriousness on his face was replaced with a content smile." He is out of danger. The surgery was a success" he declared washing away the fatigue from their faces.

"He is still under observation and will take some time to wake up. I suggest you all meet him after we shift to the ward" Taylor requested.

Agreeing to Taylor’s request, their attention then turned towards Matt who too walked out to meet the family member. They finally managed to save Dante completely evacuating the tumor from his body. There was no chance of the tumor to raise again.

While everyone followed the doctor’s request, Grace decided to wait until her father woke up. Once Dante has shifted to his ward Grace stayed by his side along with Trevor who made sure Grace didn’t neglect herself.

The entire day passed with Grace waiting for her father to wake and in the evening he finally did and the first person he asked for was Grace.

Assuring her presence, Trevor then informed the doctors about his consciousness. After checking on Dante, Taylor assured me that the patient was doing well and everything was fine.

The news about Dante gaining consciousness reached the family members and they quickly rushed to meet their grandfather.

The entire ward was filled with pleasant laughter with everyone having a happy smile lingering on their face. A huge threat was lifted from their shoulder and they were grateful that Dante was not going to leave them anytime soon.
