Chapter 225: Is that girl your girlfriend?
Ashley stood there stunned trying to gather her thoughts, blinked a few times before she slowly closed them and gave in to the kiss. The kiss was so gentle that she felt her heart swell with happiness.
Tristan let go of his hand from the nape of her neck and moved down to the back of her waist and slowly tucked her in until her chest collided with his and he deepened the kiss.
He made sure, he would be slow with the approach knowing how badly he had ruined everything, upsetting her even more. For the first time, his plan backfired and he regretted acting as a jerk.
He so wanted to turn the time back when his stupid brain came up with this thought. Damn, I hurt her so much, he thought and held her closer not ready to leave her even when they were short of breath.
Tristan thought it was the only way she could everything that happened inside the club because if they happen to pull away, she will again walk away from him.
Ashley’s palm that rested on his shoulder loosened as she gasped trying to catch some air ended up calling out his name breathlessly," Tristan..."
Her raspy voice brought him back to his sense and he quickly pulled away but kept his hold on her waist firm.
Ashley dropped her head on his chest and calmed herself. She could feel her mind clear a little but not entirely. The dizziness was still there and so was she drunk.
Tristan let steady her breathing and he found she was back to normal, he brought his hand under her chin and made her look at him. His eyes watched her with sadness, breaking his heart as he stared into those red eyes that cried because of him.
He had no words to say because he knew apologizing to her will never let him forgive himself. But it was the only thing that could do to justify how miserable he was feeling right now.
Tracing his thumb on her lips, Tristan rested their forehead together." Sorry" his voice cracked as said with desperation, hoping she wouldn’t push him as she did inside the club.
Ashley met his unsettled gaze which hopefully looked at her and all her anger flew away. She knew she overreacted but that moment watching him with someone else made her think irrationally.
She could see he was genuinely regretting it, but that didn’t stop her from warning him.
"Promise me you won’t do that again, or else I will leav-" she couldn’t finish her statement knowing how much that word triggered him.
"I wouldn’t forgive you" she rephrase it and blinked her eyes before her vision blurred.
Tristan bobbed his head like a kid and watched her sniff before her lips stretched into a pleasing smile.
"Good.."
Tristan felt a huge burden lifted from his shoulder. He was about to kiss her as a compliment but stopped and watched her smile again.
He had forgotten his wife was drunk, and this stupid smile of hers kept reminding him about it.
"It’s enough for tonight. Let’s head back to our room" Tristan said slowly loosening his hold around her waist, ready to carry her but Ashley had other plans.
Taking the chance, she break free from his hold and started walking back in the direction she came from a while back.
"NO!... I am not going back. I want to dance more" stumbling on her steps, Ashley tried to sneak back into the club but Tristan stopped her before she could take a step ahead and the next thing he did was to carry her on his shoulder.
"Tristan... let me go" Ashley started punching his back trying her best to stop him but he didn’t answer her and rather took her back into their room.
Back inside the club, Noah had been sitting by the bar counter seat, sulking while gulping down drink after drink until he turned a little tipsy.
His eyes looked sadly at Alice who didn’t even bother to look his way and kept enjoying herself. The thing that kept him rooted in his seat was, she didn’t dance with anyone but just enjoyed her own company.
Many tried to approach her but she was too busy with herself that she shove them away in no time.
"Is that girl your girlfriend" the bartender who had been serving him drinks inquired?
At first, it was that girl who was sulking while gulping down drinks and now it was this man who had been carrying a gloomy face while staring at the girl.
"Hmm.." Noah bobbed his head keeping him on Alice.
The bartender nodded his head in understanding. "If you are that eager to dance with her, then why don’t you just go and join her," the man said watching him stare at the girl for god knows how long.
Noah snapped his head in the man’s direction giving him a strange look. Was it that obvious, that even this unknown person noticed but the one who he wanted to see his way kept ignoring him.
"Don’t give me that weird look. Take some action before that man-" he said pointing behind him and Noah shot his head around," he will surely win your girl"
Noah’s mouth hung open when he found one man approaching Alice. She had been on her way till now but that didn’t seem anymore because there was someone who tried to catch her attention.
Turning his palm into a fist, Noah slammed the counter surface before stepping down from his seat and storming towards them.
Alice had been enjoying her time dancing on her own, but all of a sudden she felt crowded by a man whose intentions didn’t seem friendly.
"Excuse me," she asked as soon the man tried to touch her.
"Hey, beautiful. Do you want to dance with me" he said making her frown.
Alice could tell that the man wasn’t in his senses and was trying to get his hands on her, but she didn’t let him.
Turning aside she tried to walk past him when he stopped her resting his hands on her shoulder and pulled her back.
"Why so in a hurry darling?" the man smirked stopping her from taking a step away.
"Don’t you dare touch me" Alice jerked his hands off her shoulder, warning him.
"Now you’re playing hard to get, huh.." the man now dropped his playful act and because serious.
He had his eyes on her the moment she stepped on the dance, showing her seductive moves. He waited for some time but when he couldn’t hold back anymore he approached her.
"Excuse me" Alice sneered creasing on his words.
"What! Didn’t you want attention? Look here you got one" he said pointing at her with his lips again curling up into a smirk.
Alice gave him a confusing look. She was so busy teasing Noah with her dancing moves that she didn’t realize she was grabbing others’ attention. Damn you... Alice, she cursed.
Composing her thoughts, she waved her hand in no, looking at the man," Listen, you got me wrong" Alice tried to explain so she could just get away from there but the man doesn’t seem to understand.
Maybe he was too drunk or he was too determined to get her with him.
He didn’t let her finish her words and grab her hand pulling her for a forceful kiss." Hey.. let me go" Alice tried to push the man but he was too strong to move.
Just when his face was about to reach her, someone pulled him by his shoulder, and the next second he was punched damn hard, and he fell on the ground passing out.
Alice, mouth hung as she looked at the man shockingly. The man showed no movement and that scared her even more thinking, about whether he was sleeping or did he die.
But before she could comprehend, Noah marched at the limp man and started punching him.
The entire dance floor turned to silence and all she could hear was Noah grunting sound as he kept beating the guy.
Staring at the unresponsive man, Alice’s steps quickened on her own and she rushed to stop Noah.
"Noah.. stop it. You will kill him" she said looking at the man whose nose had started bleeding. She was scared that Noah might end up taking his life and that was the last thing she wanted to happen.
Noah wanted to kill that man who tried to force himself on Alice. If he hadn’t seen his intention, the man would’ve harmed his girl.
"How dare you touch my girl" Noah screamed and kept beating him until he heard Alice scared voice and his hand paused in the air.
The madness within him stopped the second Alice called his name and he turned to see her.
Alice’s eyes were fixed on Noah. This was the first time she witnessed his madness and that somewhat scared her.
She looked at the man and then at Noah who dropped his hand the second their eyes met. She had nothing to say because it was her stupidity that landed her in a problem.
Noah looked at her with an undescribed expression. His shoulders trembling as he tried to control himself. But the second he saw her stare at him with fear, he lost it.
Averting his eyes from her, Noah got up and walked away from there without looking back.
