Chapter 211: I will take them all

Tristan reached the Knight mansion followed by Noah who rushed out of his car the second his eyes caught the sight of his friend.

"Wait for me!" Noah said running to Tristan’s side and they both entered in.

The second they stepped inside the house both Tristan and Noah were welcome with the aromatic fragrance of delicious breakfast.

"Great, you both came at the right time," Grace said looking at the boys.

Noah rushed to Grace’s side and pecked her cheeks," Mom, I missed you so much" he said squeezing her in his embrace.

"Let go of my mom" Tristan’s deadpan voice made Noah drop his smile and he frown.

After Dante’s illness revelation Tristan didn’t meet his mother, understanding she wasn’t in the right state of mind to listen to him.

"Mom," he said giving her a side hug.

"We have many things to talk about son" Grace passed Tristan a meaningful look and he pursed his lips and gave a nod.

He knew what she was referring to and he was ready to confront her.

Keeping the topic aside, everyone came downstairs and had their breakfast. Once they were done eating Gwen got up to leave but stopped when she remembered something.

"Mom, I won’t be having dinner with you all today. We girls are planning to go shopping in the evening" her words caught both the boy’s attention at her and they asked in unison," Shopping!!"

"Yes, don’t you both know," she asked pointing at them in confusion.

Noah shook his head and then looked at Tristan," Dude, we also need to go shopping" he whispered leaning close to his ear.

"Hmm...’’

"Anyways, I’ll take my leave, bye" Gwen bid goodbye to them and left.

Backyard

"You took the right decision old man" Noah winked at Dante making him chuckle.

"I had to" Dante was mentally prepared and was waiting for the treatments to start before they fix a surgery date.

Tristan was happy to see how Dante was willing to live. The desperation in his eyes was evident that this old man had finally given up his stubbornness.

All thanks to his mother, who was the reason for his change of mind.

The trio continued chatting when Grace too joined them.

"Won’t you boys go shopping?" she asked looking at the two and watched them nod their heads in unison.

"Good or else you all would end up looking like bodyguards to them and someone else might end up wooing them" Grace fought her smile, averting her eyes at Dante who winked at her giving a thumbs up.

Noah who sense the threat stood up with a jerk," Tristan!.. I think mom is right. We can’t lack. Let’s go shopping in the evening" with determination in his eyes Noah instructed Tristan.

"Hmm... for the first time in my life. I find myself agreeing with you" nodding his head Tristan gave in and Noah immediately informed Karl about their plan.

After talking with them, both Tristan and Noah left for their respective work.

"You think, they will let anyone eye at their woman" Dante exclaimed knowing how possessive these boys are over their girls. Wooing! they won’t even let any man look at them.

Grace agreed to Dante and fell silent after a while.

Dante noticed her and asked," What happened?"

Grace snapped out of her thoughts at looked at her father," Dad, don’t you think they both should open up to their girls" she asked.

"Hmm.. they should but-" he stopped remembering the fear Tristan had in his heart.

"But what dad? They both have the right to know everything"

That day when Trevor begged her to let him sleep with her, she put a condition in front of him. And that was to be transparent with her. She asked him to tell her his every secret or else he wouldn’t be allowed to even talk to her.

Getting scared Trevor ended up spilling everything to her which also include Tristan being the supreme leader of Dante’s clan.

Grace thought she had managed to pull her son out of that dark world but she was wrong. And when she learned about the entire truth behind his decision to go against her words, she was devastated.

Her father had almost died and she had no clue about it. Back then when she couldn’t see him for months she fell into thought, thinking he had finally given up. But all her assumptions were wrong. Dante was fighting for his life, trying to wake up from that deep slumber that engulf his body and mind.

Someone tried to kill him, which was why Tristan took command in his hand taking over his position.

Now, she understood where she went wrong. Instead of understanding her father, she kept finding his mistakes. Just because one time he failed to protect them, it didn’t mean he was incapable.

After that one mistake, he stood like a shield protecting them secretly. But she still tends to ignore it. Such a fool not to see how much Dante loved them.

And now, she had finally come to understand that, she can’t live a life in fear and accept reality. She can’t change the fact that her son was now the supreme leader but could only have faith in his capabilities.

Tristan was trained by Dante himself and she can’t doubt her father’s teaching.

Dante could only sigh, at Grace’s words. If only his daughter had the slightest idea of how scared is Tristan of losing Ashley, she should have reacted the same as him.

Without saying a word, he just kept staring at Grace who had this displeased look marred on her face.

Evening

Ashley picked up both Alice and Gwen from their workplace and drove to Dream’s Mall.

"I thought, I would be able to grasp every piece of information from Karl but even he has no clue about it. It looks like brother really wants to keep it a surprise" Gwen sighed in disappointment.

She was so curious to know where Tristan was planning to take them that she coaxed Karl to spill everything. But when he said that even he had no idea about it, all her hopes washed away.

"Let’s just not spoil our mood. We will get to know once we reach there" Alice didn’t want them to rack their brain and just focus on the things they had come to do here.

"Yes, Alice is right. Let us not think about it and enjoy our shopping" Ashley agreed followed by Gwen and the trio began to roam inside the vast shopping mall.

Entering every store, they purchased the things they could carry with them on the trip.

They then stepped into the lingerie shop as Alice wanted to buy a few things. Looking at the sexy lingerie Gwen’s eyes grew wide.

"How can anyone wear them? It’s too exposing" she said staring at them in disbelief.

Alice chuckled looking at the young girl who made her remind herself of herself. Back then even though she was just as shy as her but look at her now, no one will believe she is the same Alice they knew before.

"Even I thought the same back then but you know what-" she leaned close to Gwen and whispered," Men fall for this bold look. They like it when their woman initiates a bold move towards them" giving her an assuring nod Alice pull away and resume looking around.

Gwen looked at the piece of clothes when Linda’s face crossed her mind and she recalled the words she said about her.

’Teenager’ she had said.

Gwen didn’t like when Linda judge her relationship with Karl based on their age. Just because they had an age difference of five years, she wasn’t mature enough.

Turning her palm into a fist Gwen sighed and looked at the lingerie before she asked the staff," I will take them all" she said with a plain face shocking both Ashley and Alice who stood next to her.

While the girls were busy in their shopping there was someone who had his eyes set on a particular person as he followed them everywhere.

Once the girls were done shopping, their next station was the restaurant where they were supposed to have dinner.

Stepping inside the Italian restaurant inside the mall, they soon placed their orders.

Ashley was a little skeptical to ask Gwen why she purchased all the lingerer but she stopped herself from invading her personal space.

There was something about Gwen that she felt was off. After stepping out of the shop she didn’t speak to them all and completely silenced herself.

’What’s wrong with her?’ she thought looking at her and then at Alice who also had the same thoughts as Ashley.

Both the girls passed on a meaningful glance at one another and then at the girl who seemed to be lost in her own thoughts.

’I think I should talk to her once we reach home’ Ashley noted mentally.
