Karl paused when suddenly Gwen hugged him. His anger was already at its peak, and he wanted to vent it. His blaze fire as he watched Luke spit blood. The punch he received knocked his sense

Fisting his palm into a ball, he grunted and quickly turned, taking Gwen away. He couldn’t let her see his wild side.

Luke wiped the corner of his mouth and stood up, slowly stabling himself. He watched Karl take Gwen away, and his lips curled into a satisfied smile.

Outside the restaurant

Karl finally let go of Gwen’s hand once they reach his car. He was still upset with the event he was about to witness with his eyes. If he didn’t follow her, Luke would have-... No! he would never let that happen.

Ignoring Gwen, Karl opened the car’s door, took the water bottle out and some tissue, and turned to face her.

He quickly opened the bottle and pulled Gwen’s hand, pouring all the content into it. Confused by his actions, Gwen was about to speak when she heard.

"Where did he touch you" his voice turned heavy as he focused his eyes on his work without sparing a glance at her.

He wanted to erase his touch from her skin. He tried to wash off everything. No one was allowed to touch his girl. She was his to touch and kiss.

His hand paused, cleaning her hand when he remembered Luke initiating a kiss on Gwen.

Looking up at her face, Karl was about to reach his hand to wipe her lips. He knew they didn’t kiss. Still, he couldn’t stop himself from thinking of that otherwise.

"If you hate me going out with someone else, then why are you letting me go, Karl" Gwen’s words took Karl by surprise.

The anger in his eyes slowly disappeared, and the next moment he gave up. Resting his forehead on her, Karl finally lost it.

"I was stupid, Gwen... I am sorry. Please don’t push me; it’s killing me to see you with someone else," his voice cracked.

Slowly wrapping his arm around her waist, he held her tightly. He was scared to lose her. These few days away from her made him realize her worth.

"You are my whole life, Gwen. I can’t live without you" his words made Gwen’s lips tremble even more. She was barely trying to be strong, but it was slowly crumbling down.

"Then why did you hurt me, Karl" she pulled away and started punching his chest.

"You know your silence that day hurt me so much. It made me feel that you don’t love me at all," she cried as she continued punching him.

Karl gladly took her punches because he knew his stupidity landed them in this situation. She can keep beating him black and blue, and he will not stop her.

After venting her anger, Gwen finally stopped and cried her heart out. Only she knew how hard it was for her to act as if nothing had happened.

Karl slowly took a step closer to her and hugged her." I won’t talk with you, Karl," she sobbed, wrapped her arm around him, and hugged him back.

Even though she told him she wouldn’t speak with him, her actions told otherwise.

"Please don’t punish me this way, Gwen. You can beat me as much as you want, but please don’t stop talking with me," she heard him say, and the next moment, she broke down in tears even more.

Knight mansion

Grace was sitting on the bed, completely immersed in her thoughts. She couldn’t forget what she heard that day, and it got repaying in her mind making her restless.

The way Dante asked Matt not to tell her anything, she knew there was something he was hiding from her. Matt was his doctor, so did it mean it was related to his health?

She was busy pondering her thoughts when Trevor asked," You will get old if you keep thinking so much."

Grace was pulled out of her thoughts and smiled, turning her head to look at Trevor.

"Then, will you stop loving me if I grow too old, Mr. Knight," she asked and saw him shake his head.

"It doesn’t matter if you get those wrinkles on your face or grow old. I will still love you no matter what," Trevor said confidently.

Trevor fell for Grace not because she was beautiful but because she had a good heart. Her kindness so whipped him that he couldn’t stop himself from falling for her.

Grace couldn’t help but adore this older man who still thought they were young to romance like this.

"Okay now, tell me what you are so busy thinking about. Is it about Gwen" he asked, knowing that everyone in the house was worried for Gwen as she suddenly decided to agree to date, Luke.

That was a blow for everyone, but they could only nod their head, knowing the girl had other motives behind her every action.

"No, it’s not about Gwen. I know she would change her mind again," Grace scoffed immediately, knowing Gwen would never stick to what she was planning.

"Then who is it?" he asked again once he understood she wasn’t stressed over Gwen.

"It’s about dad Trevor. I think he is hiding something from me," she said, not knowing Trevor was also aware of it.

Trevor pursed his lips and straightened up a little getting uncomfortable suddenly. He had already guessed it because this wasn’t the first time she had told him so.

Grace had been worried about Dante since she saw his health deteriorating. Her once-healthy father had lost so much weight these few years, which surprised her.

She was so worried that she asked Matt to prepare a diet plan for him, so she could work according to it and take care of his eating disorders.

"Honey, you are overthinking. Why would he hide anything from you" Trevor tried to change her mind just like he did the other times.

Whenever Grace brought up this topic, he would brush it off by diverting her thoughts, telling her she was overthinking.

Grace glared at him when she heard him repeating the exact words." I am saying it with fluke Trevor. I heard it with my ears" her words widened his eyes.

Grace went on telling him everything and heaved out a sigh once she finished.

Trevor could only blink, looking at her. He knew there was no way he would change her mind when she had witnessed it.

He just kept looking at Grace in terror because now that she had heard it by herself, there was no way she wouldn’t stop until she finally found out everything. And the worst was when she learned that even though he was involved in hiding Dante’s illness from her, what would she do to him?

Trevor felt a chill run down his spine thinking about the future, and he felt like crying. ’It’s all your fault, father-in-law,’ he called internally but on the outside, he pursed his lips.

Inside the car

After calming down, Gwen finally forgave Karl. She wasn’t ready, but when he fell on his knees and started crying like a child, she had to drop her anger and forgive him.

In his way of convincing her, he even told her that morning when he came to the Knight’s mansion. It wasn’t because he came to pick her up but because he wanted to tell everyone about their relationship.

But everything messed up when she told them she was ready to date Luke, which broke his heart. He thought he had lost her, and there was no way she would turn back to him.

Swallowing his words back, he just tried to act regular, but deep inside, his heart was hurting.

"Why didn’t you tell me that you wanted to talk about us to my parents" Gwen complained, looking at Karl, who looked a complete mess.

"I thought it would be better if I talk with them in front of you, but when you-" he wasn’t about to complete his statement when Gwen cut in.

"No, don’t speak. I heard it already because of my announcement that you changed your mind" she took that step because she wanted to see his reaction, but this stupid didn’t react to her words and just kept eating breakfast.

Karl pursed his lips and looked down. He felt guilty thinking they had to go through so much because of his cowardice, but not anymore.

Now he wouldn’t let his chance slip from his hand. He liked Gwen, and he wasn’t scared of declaring it. If he spoke up this time, he would lose Gwen forever.

"Let’s go to the Knight mansion," he suddenly declared, taking Gwen by surprise.

’Was he planning to tell them now’ she thought, and slowly her lips curled up into a smile as she watched him start the car and drive to the Knight mansion.
