"As if we would give our next line of product to this agency after this disastrous leak," William Trust sneered. "Surely, Miss Carpenter, you’re not as bright as you look."

Eve wasn’t angry at his remark. She was used to people looking down at her, could be because of her height, or maybe because of other things that she didn’t want to talk about.

Thus, she replied, "You can always use my agency for other products in the Honor company. It’s a win-win solution for us, Sir. Because I know a lawsuit would result in huge financial loss in both of our companies."

William lost his sneer once Eve said that.

What she said was true. If the Red Lass Agency refused to pay for the damage, then he would’ve to file a lawsuit, and it would take a long time while spending a lot of money on an attorney just to get some financial compensation.

Besides, Red Lass Agency was a popular advertising agency, referred by many of their previous clients for their stellar work. They would be digging their grave if they had to pay so much for compensation.

"... I am not convinced yet, Miss Carpenter," William said.

Eve nodded.

She had prepared a new slogan for the Honor 15 phone advertisement while she was waiting for William Trust in the meeting room, "This should convince you, Sir."

Eve took out her iPad and showed the advertisement project which was about eighty percent done.

William Trust watched the ad without much interest. It was a great ad, but it still wouldn’t fix the damage... until he saw the last sentence.

Seen the leak? Then you know our quality.

William Trust’s eyes widened for a second. He was impressed by that last sentence change because it would cement the Honor phone’s status as a high-quality phone.

"I’ve seen the buzz in social media, Sir. Yes, it has been leaked. But everyone is praising the design, build quality, and hardware specification. I don’t see anything wrong with doubling it down," Eve said. "Besides, if you’re willing, we can publish this advertisement earlier—call it a teaser of what would be released, right?"

William Trust fell into a long silence before he chuckled, "Well, I’ll be damned. No wonder your agency has been referred to by many. You can actually find a way to turn this around into an advantageous ad."

"Fine, I agree with your proposal. We should release the teaser ad earlier, but with one more thing—your agency needs to create another ad when the phone is released. Our company is fair, so we won’t press charges if you’re willing to work for two ads... without getting paid, as we believe our financial damage would be enough to cover the payment."

Honestly, Eve still wanted to be paid. It was an expensive ad that took a lot of her company’s workforce time. But she knew she couldn’t negotiate more than this.

’That means everyone in the Red Lass Agency has to work overtime to meet the deadline without pay. I’ll have to include their overtime pay that comes from my pocket...’ Eve pondered for a few seconds as she made a mental calculation. She still had some savings left in her, so she wasn’t entirely helpless.

Still, she disliked how much overtime she had to do.

Nevertheless, this was the clear win-win solution for her. She could minimize the financial damage, ease her client’s worry, and protect her agency’s reputation.

The worst damage that could happen wasn’t the compensation money, but her company’s reputation.

The moment one big company lost its trust in the Red Lass Agency, then that advertisement agency was as good as dead.

"That sounds fair. But before I agree on everything, please make sure not to implicate my agency in this leak problem. This is indeed my oversight as I didn’t expect my former employee to steal the document, but you know that a reference from a big company like yours would mean a lot for us, right, Sir?"

William Trust nodded, "Naturally. If you can provide us with another excellent ad later, then we won’t press charge, nor demand any other compensation. We’d also refer your agency to our partner companies, since the way you’re dealing with this big problem is quite impressive, Miss Carpenter."

Eve could finally let out a relieved sigh. She didn’t expect things to go this well after the disastrous leak. She really thought that she was done for an hour.

’Calling that man gives me peace. I should thank him later,’ Eve thought as she finally concluded the meeting with William Trust, the representative of Honor Company.

Eve returned to her office, followed by Andrea, who also had a big smile on her face.

Once she sat on her seat, Andrea praised her to the moon and back, "My gosh, Miss, you’re amazing! I thought we were a goner the moment that man walked in. But you managed to save the company!"

Eve smiled bitterly, "Thank you, Andrea. But we’re not done yet. This is only the first company that Pierre leaked, and we already have to work our butts off just to meet the deadline. Of course, I can’t offer the same to other companies."

"T-then, what are you going to do next, Miss?" Andrea asked.

"... I’ll ask him."

"Him... ah, you mean Alexander Langford?"

Eve sneered, "Of course, you know him. You told him everything last week, right?"

"Ah... ahaha... I’m so sorry, Miss. I don’t want you to be left alone to fix all the mess. Nobody in the company could help, so when he offered his help, I..."

"I was a little annoyed. But I know that you meant well," Eve said. "But you’re right. He’s the only one I can depend on for now."

"Yes! Oh, and I just know that he is very sincere, Miss! I can see it in his eyes!" Andrea added excitedly.

"Sincere, huh?" Eve sneered. She didn’t say anything further as she knew Andrea wasn’t aware of what happened behind closed doors. "Why don’t you buy me something for lunch, Andrea? I’m hungry and exhausted."

"On it, Miss!"

With Andrea leaving her alone, Eve finally picked her phone and called the man that gave her the much needed clarity when she needed it the most.
