Eve’s body tensed instantly, as the resounding gasps coming from everyone in the hall filled the air. She stared at Alex in disbelief, not understanding what was running inside his damaged brain.

Meanwhile, Alex didn’t seem to be affected by the shocks and suspicious stares coming from his family. He was 100% certain about his statement as if there was no more room for negotiation.

"We just got the news that Eve is currently pregnant with my baby, so that means she will be the mother of my child, and also my future wife."

Instead of backing off, Alex doubled down instead. Eve felt that everyone was pointing their guns at her right now, including Alex.

She never expected Alex to say something so crazy, and it was difficult for her to deny it because denying it meant that she would dismiss her cooperation with him.

"Isn’t that true, love?" Alex asked.

Eve snapped out of her daze.

At this point, she couldn’t even say no. Since this scumbag already trapped her in this situation, she might as well play along and wait for them to be alone, so she could slap some sense into this bastard’s mind while questioning him.

Thus, she tried her best to act natural and chuckled, "Huh? Mhm...ahaha...yes..."

After getting an answer from his beloved, Alex returned his gaze to his family members. His gaze turned cold once more, looking at all of them as if they were lower than animals.

"And that means, if any of you dare to harm her, you will be facing me. This is the first and last warning I will give to everyone in here," Alex declared. He lowered his gaze and stared at his aunt, who tried to denounce Evelyn’s achievement with her passive aggressiveness. "That also includes you, Aunt Lisa. Don’t you dare insult my wife like that anymore, or I will pull all of my investment out of your small company."

Lisa’s face paled instantly. She nodded and quickly tried to excuse her action, "I-I never meant to insult your girl, Alex. Oh, maybe you’re just misunderstanding my words!"

"Is that so?" Alex chuckled mirthlessly. "Then I guess I misheard."

"Eve and I will go and meet my dad, please excuse us," Alex bid his goodbye after that, completely ignoring everyone, including Pierre and Julia. He simply grabbed Eve’s hand and pulled her as they strode through all the people in here towards the door at the other end.

Eve felt that she was a small bunny in a den full of wolves. Everyone was so scary with how they stared at her, but since she was with the Alpha, she didn’t have to fear anyone. Hence, she took a deep breath and strutted confidently with Alex.

Alex pushed the door and left the main hall with Eve.

There was nothing but a deafening silence inside the main hall for a long time before Aunt Lisa muttered, "Who is that girl?"

"I-I don’t know. She’s pretty, but is that really all it takes to turn Alex into an idiot?"

"Maybe she is drugging him with something, and raped him while he’s asleep!"

"Wait, that can be right! We’ve sent so many beautiful women for him, but he rejected all of them for this nobody?!"

The main hall had turned into a giant ring of gossip as they slandered this woman who was supposedly carrying Alex’s baby.

Soon after, chaos ensued between them as one of the adults said, "All of you should be more careful of what you say about her. That woman is carrying his baby now, and it doesn’t seem that Alex wants to abort it anytime soon. If you piss her off, then he might do something against us."

Everyone in the hall shuddered when they realized that woman held so much power over them, just because she was carrying the next heir of Langford’s billion-dollar estate.

Everyone went silent once more.

Yes, they truly couldn’t do anything about her for now, but it wouldn’t be long until they could find a way to get rid of her.

After all, that woman was not part of their plan to make sure that Alex would listen to them, so they’ve prepared all the beautiful women at their disposal to seduce him.

Everyone looked at each other with the same devious mind as they only had one plan.

’Get rid of that baby, or get rid of her.’

Meanwhile, Roger Dust, Alex’s uncle and also Pierre’s father, was sitting in the corner of the room. He had an expression as if he couldn’t wait to kill his stupid son right now. He turned his head towards Pierre, and the latter squeaked like a cornered rat and hid behind Julia’s back.

Roger pointed at his son and hooked his finger, silently telling him to come to his side, or else he would be in pain.

Pierre was deathly afraid of his father.

His father was actually very lenient and spoiled him a lot. He even allowed Pierre to not continue his studies as it was too difficult for him, causing Pierre to get lazy midway.

But Roger Dust would get angry at someone incompetent, especially when his good-for-nothing son ruined all the plans he made to use that stupid woman against Alex.

The moment Pierre realized that he fucked up really bad, he knew that he’d be in a world of pain.

Julia looked over her shoulder and asked, "Do you not see that? Your father is calling you."

"I-I don’t want to go. I’m scared," Pierre’s voice shook as he already felt lightheaded right now. "C-can you go and tell him that I know nothing? H-how am I supposed to know Eve would suddenly get back together with Alex? They haven’t been in contact for two years!"

"Why don’t you tell him yourself?"

"I’m sure I’ll get beaten if I walk to him right now," Pierre whined as he was eyeing the exit. He wanted to make the run of it but knew it would only anger his father even more.
