Catastrophe Card King -
Chapter 1257 - Chapter 1257 Chapter 387 Mirror World_2
Chapter 1257: Chapter 387 Mirror World_2 Chapter 1257: Chapter 387 Mirror World_2 The two rounds of ferocious punches just now were almost his strongest offensive techniques, yet they still hadn’t severely injured the enemy, so dragging it out any further wasn’t going to kill them.
The two sides thus found themselves locked in a standoff in an unimaginably bizarre way.
However, Leonard Churchill hadn’t expected to kill his opponent to begin with; even before the battle started, he knew that the main force in this fight would be his “allies.”
Being able to hold off the fastest one was already the best situation he could hope for.
…
Four appeared in total on the Southern Continent.
The roles for the battle were determined the moment it began.
Black Dragonkin [Eight of Hearts – Element Decomposer], Thunder Dragonkin [Spade Four – Beast Walker], Giant Dragonkin [Red Hearts 6 – Punishment Iron Guard], Green Dragonkin [Spades 3 – Holy Knight].
This was the standard configuration for an average squad: a tank in front, a Magic Type for area control and damage output, a Healer, plus an additional versatile role that could also control the battlefield and provide supplementary damage output.
The team composition of these four was designed to compensate for each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and all were Seventh Rank.
In the East Wilderness, they originally could have roamed freely wherever they wished.
Unfortunately, they came to the well-prepared City of Thieves.
Wayne White and the Silver Moon Archbishop, leading those “allies,” didn’t disappoint.
As an ancient family with traditions handed down from the Taren Era, they weren’t ignorant about the “Super Tier” unknown to the people of the East Wilderness.
As soon as Leonard Churchill tied up that Thunder Dragon, Wayne White also took control of the battlefield immediately.
The enemy’s Domain took over a few blocks nearby, but he didn’t let them have all the initiative.
Wayne White himself hadn’t comprehended a Domain yet, but the Immortal Aegis Animal he had a contract with could.
After the God Summoning, the one transformed into a charming fox countered with the Immortal Technique Domain right away; with a move from [Poker Game: Chaotic Soldiers Encirclement], he used Immortal Law to lock down the opposing Domain.
There, settled then; nobody was getting out.
Even though Wayne White’s physical tier was somewhat inferior, the realm and vision of his possessed Immortal Aegis Animal were not.
His situation was similar to Leonard’s – unable to kill the opponent, but the enemy also couldn’t kill him for the time being.
Wayne White also held off that [Element Decomposer].
Another main force was that Archbishop from the Silver Moon Sect, who, after being imbued with the Will of the Moon God, used Pleasure Divine Skill to forcibly control the battlefield against the [Punishment Iron Guard], fighting tooth and nail.
And the Silver Moon Believers had a divine skill that nearly granted them immortality by switching between dreams and reality; as the Divine Power of millions of believers throughout the city converged, even if the Archbishop died many times, her combat power remained incredibly fierce.
Being unkillable essentially meant being unbeatable.
Moreover, the City of Thieves was the White Family’s stronghold, and they had prepared many top-tier practitioners in advance, along with various family relics.
[War God’s Talisman], [God-binding Rope], [Aguleno’s Bow and Arrows], [Immortal Black Edge Titan Armor], [Immortal Sumero’s Spear], [Banishing Healing Torch]…
It was like a relics expo; Leonard was dazzled by the sight of each White Family member equipped with several relics.
There were even several Tier Four and Tier Five relics.
All these were rare items targeted at Top-Rank Card Masters, truly the White Family’s hidden reserves.
Leonard wasn’t particularly surprised, having heard about them from Sophia Jones previously.
But this nearly made the four people from the Southern Continent drop their jaws in astonishment.
Coming to the East Wilderness, they did not expect to be held up by a bunch of Low-Rank Card Masters, lacking even Seventh Rank?
They thought the only threat was the Titan Battle Armor; only now did they realize they had underestimated the Card Masters of the East Wilderness.
…
The dark streets were now a scene of utter chaos.
All four from the Southern Continent had transformed into their Great Dragon forms, with the Thunder Dragon still being held by Leonard, Wayne White fiercely battling the Black Dragon, the Silver Moon Archbishop entangling the Giant Dragon, and the Green Dragon being locked down with dozens of Curse iron chains, subject to relentless bombardment…
Various spells rained down without mercy, lightning, fire, hurricanes, earthquakes, poison gas…
Just the repercussions of these attacks were not something Low-Rank Card Masters could withstand.
Leonard, Wayne White, and the Silver Moon Archbishop each had their means to stand firm, but the others didn’t have the same power.
In the blink of an eye, the ground was strewn with dozens of corpses.
Seventh Rank was the dividing line for Top-Rank Card Masters.
Card Masters who hadn’t comprehended Domains could only do limited damage to the four Dragon Descendants.
But, thanks to a variety of tactics and countermeasures prepared early, even if it was merely scraping, the high-skilled practitioners of the White Family taught the enemy a painful lesson.
While Leonard and the two others held off three, everyone else focused their firepower on that Green Dragon.
Even Leonard couldn’t help but twitch at the sight of these methods.
[Aguleno’s Bow and Arrows] breaking through defenses, [God-binding Rope] forcefully controlling the battlefield, [Banishing Healing Torch]’s burning ghost flames restraining healing…
With these relics and tactics hitting at once, that Green Dragon was battered to a bloody pulp, wailing in agony.
Only the resilient Dragon Descendant bodies could endure so long.
If they had been human Card Masters, they would have been killed many times over.
Yet, the greatest advantage of Dragon-blooded Card Masters was their sturdy bodies. Even those of the Spellcaster Type exhibited strong vitality.
And so the deadlock continued.
The four from the Southern Continent also knew that whether it was Leonard’s gauntlet relic, Wayne White’s protection from the Immortal Aegis Animal, or the Divine Power of faith, none could endure indefinitely.
After a short period without a definitive outcome, a brutal war of attrition was destined.
The people from the Southern Continent were betting they could last until those from the East Wilderness ran out of tricks.
Leonard and his companions, on the other hand, were betting that they could kill these Dragon Descendants before their own resources were exhausted.
And in city guerrilla warfare, the ambushers always have the home field advantage.
From the current state of the battle, if those from the continent didn’t flee, it seemed very likely they would be killed.
