Chapter 71: Hanging Out

Jules’ pov

I was sitting cross legged on the grass with Taylor and Josh, and I tried not to give anything away with my face as I recounted a summary of what had transpired between us.

The evening was cool, the atmosphere was very pretty, and after Taylor suggested we all hang out, I agreed almost immediately because I had missed hanging out with them even though I literally saw them yesterday morning.

"Did he really make it possible for you to skip the competition which the school said was compulsory?" Taylor repeated, eyes wide with surprise and I nodded my head in response.

"He said he was gonna take care of it." I mumbled and Taylor sequeled and then he leaned towards me.

"So, are you guys really fated mates?" He asked, face lit up with blatant curiosity.

"I- I think so." I breathed out, cheeks coloring a little when Taylor and Josh made awed noises.

"That’s genuinely crazy." Josh muttered and I couldn’t agree more. It was really crazy, which was why I really need to talk to Andrian about it as soon as possible.

"So, how’s the two of you? Does he do anything that hurts you?" Taylor asked moments later and I shook my head slowly.

"He has never hurt me before." I responded, heart fluttering as soon as Blaze’s face materialized in my head.

If anything, he has done the complete opposite to me.

"Has he fucked you yet?" Taylor asked and I choked on my drink, causing Josh to swear as he pounded on my back.

"Taylor, that’s a really private question." Josh sighed out but Taylor only pouted.

"But I’m curious. I really wanna know." He shot back, defending himself and I shook my head moments later.

"We- we haven’t done that yet." I finally mumbled out, cheeks hot, that made Taylor narrow his gaze.

"But you’ve done other things, right?" He demanded, shuffling forward. "C’mon Jules, spill, I’m curious!"

"Why do you wanna know?" Josh shot at him and Taylor rolled his eyes. "Because of the rumors from people who had apparently been fucked by Blaze, duh." Taylor responded before glancing back at me.

"So..." Taylor breathed out, waiting for me to start speaking but I sudden didn’t feel like having this conversation anymore, because my mind was still fixated on what Taylor had said moments ago. About the other people who’ve had things with Blaze.

I wasn’t bothered by the thought, especially after Blaze had addressed it himself, and had reassured me that I was special compared to them, since no one else had ever gotten to wear his shirt except me.

Even though that sounded extremely cheesy, it was still quite significant to me.

But it still made me feel a little queasy. Which was clearly dumb, but I couldn’t really help that feeling.

I let out a long sigh and picked up my juice, sipping on it slowly while staring down at my fingers.

"Jules?"

It was Josh this time and I glanced up at him. He and Taylor didn’t have playful expressions on any longer, they looked serious this time and I slowly set my juice on the grass beside me.

"Yeah?" I murmured and Josh rubbed his two hands together before starting to speak.

"Here’s the thing. We’re worried about you." He revealed and when I glanced at Taylor, he gave a small nod.

"Oh." I breathed out. Taylor reached out and grabbed my hand, entwining our hands together.

"We don’t want you to take this the wrong way, okay? We’re just genuinely scared for you because we care about you. That’s all." He spoke softly this time and I could tell that he meant every word he was saying. I tightened my grip on his fingers and nodded my head.

"I won’t take this the wrong way." I reassured and Taylor nodded his head before sitting back in his spot.

"We’re just worried because of Blaze, y’know? He’s like a psycho. People literally swore he was deranged and well, no one gets close to him except those other dudes in his circle. He just has an extremely scary reputation and... and I don’t want him to hurt you." Taylor trailed off at the end of his sentence and I let everything that he said register in my mind. He clearly has a point, it was the reason why I had been scared shitless of being selected by him to become his roommate.

But well, after starting to room with Blaze, I realized that perhaps it was everyone who misunderstood him from the onset.

Of course, I didn’t tell Taylor and Josh that, they do not need to listen to me defend Blaze yet, because that would just prove their point that I’ve been entranced.

"I understand your paranoia, guys. I’ll try to be on guard around him, I promise." I informed them and they both physically relaxed before nodding their heads at me.

"So... do you like him? Or... are you starting to like him? You don’t seem extremely terrified of him like you were a few days ago." Taylor asked and I huffed out a slow exhale.

I dwelled on the question, poundering on it for a few moments. Denying it within myself was pointless. I could tell that I was already starting to like him, seeing as only he could make me feel certain things which no one else could. Which was extremely ironic, that it had to be him out of everyone else.

As I made to respond, Taylor’s eyes lit up and I noticed that he was staring across my shoulder. When I turned my head around, my eyes landed on Kai, hoodie over his head and hands jammed in his pocket.

I turned back around at once before our eyes could meet and I bit on my bottom lip while silently pleading for him to keep going on his way instead of temporarily stopping here.

"Should we invite him over?" Taylor asked excitedly and Josh and I coincidentally shook our heads. However, Taylor eagerly waved at him and motioned him over, making me curse underneath my breath.

Fucking hell.
