Chapter 194: A Disgrace

Kim’s pov

"You’re a disgrace. An embarrassment. A load of shame! You should go ahead and just stop using the family name at this point!" The familiar voice of my mother filled my ear and I sighed, holding the phone away from my ear to avoid myself from going deaf since she was currently screaming.

Those words don’t affect me any longer.

There was a time when those words made me curl up in my bed and cry my eyes out throughout the night. But at this point after I’ve heard those words more times than I can count, it was nothing than mere words to me

My family hates me for a lot of things.

The first reason being that I was illegitimate.

That was a secret my family would take to their grave. They were so secretive about that piece of information, not because they were worried about what that would do to my reputation, but because they were worried about what it would do to their own reputation.

My mother hated me, because I reminded her of my father. Like it was my fault she decided to fuck the man knowing she was already engaged to someone else.

My mother was a beta. She’s married to an alpha, and all their children are supposed to be alphas or betas. The fact that I was an omega was enough to point out to anyone that something was wrong somewhere.

Which was why I was kept hidden from the public eye throughout my childhood.

I was a stain on my family’s spotless tablecloth. I was the odd one, the one filled with imperfections and the one no one was proud of.

The family’s inheritance rightfully belonged to me because I was the first fruit of my mother.

But because I was illegitimate and also an omega, my birthright got given to my immediate younger brother and my mother’s first illegitimate child.

To make that more justifiable, they agreed to disown me in the public eye but would be assisting me with money for anything in need in private, so far I don’t ask for anything aside from financial aid, and that comes with a Clair, and it was that I must never act like their son or like I’m related to them in public.

Of course because everyone made it clear to me that I wasn’t wanted, I made sure to never go back to ask for their help with anything since I left their house when I was fifteen.

Back then, I was still too dumb and as soon as I gained freedom, I got into a lot of trouble as a child rebelling out. That made my entire family hate me even more. Because my mother husband was so embarrassed of me being constantly linked to him when he wasn’t my real father, he had me picked up from the street and thrown into Carnivals, a school of my dreams, which I knew I could never fit in since I was illegitimate and filled with hundreds of imperfections.

However, once in the school, my entire life changed.

Because I never fully stopped rebeling, I began to answer the family’s surname as my first name, which was why I go by ’Kim’, instead of my first name, which is Angelo.

"Angelo." My mother called out my first name and I let out a groan.

"Please don’t call me that, Mum. Also, can we not do this right now?" I demanded as I glanced around a little.

There are other things I could be worrying about right now, like how fuckass Chris had asked me to come service him, like I was some prostitute.

"How many times do I have to remind you not to call me that?" She screeched in response and I sighed.

"Well, you’re my mother, aren’t you? Deal with it." I snapped in irritation.

"Your father just called me. He said you’re getting involved with things you have no business getting with again. Someone spotted you with the alpha prince a few days ago and called your father. Why are you hanging out with Prince Blaze of all people? You have no business being around him. You shouldn’t be doing anything around a Prince. What do you think he’d do if he found out you’re illegitimate? He’d tell his father, then the news would be everywhere, then our family’s reputation would be ruined!"

I let out a sigh and silently wondered why she chose this moment to be doing all these.

"Your husband is not my father." I finally breathed out and she screeched again.

"Are you serious? That’s the only thing you gathered?"

"Look, mom. I can hang out with whoever I want. Tell your husband to stop having people watch me. Why are y’all still interested in my business? You literally disowned me." I accused, voice sharp.

I exhaled slowly after the outburst because I hated revealing my actual emotions to my mother, because she doesn’t care.

"Do you think we want to be interested in your business? We have other things to be worried about. If you start acting right, we’d have no reason to have people watch you from time to time!" She snapped sharply and I scoffed.

"Well, too bad."

"Your father said he’d withdraw you from that school if you don’t heed to our warnings." She announced, voice sharp and I rolled my eyes.

"I’m graduating in a few months. I should have last year but I didn’t on purpose because I wanted to spend one more year there since I have nothing else to do with my life, thanks to you and your husband. Not that it’s any of your business.`` I informed her and she scoffed.

"Just, heed to the warnings. Your grandfather still doesn’t like that you have a presence online. That could affect our reputation if you get into a mess in the future. You’d have to delete your social media accounts soon "

"Do you not want me to live my life?" I demanded, feeling extremely exasperated at this point.

"We do. Just, live it without bringing any attention to yourself. That’s all we want."

I rolled my eyes as I hailed down a cab. "Thanks, but no thanks. I love living loudly and glamorously and I’m never gonna stop!"

"But you..."

I ended the call on her at once, and then I let out a long sigh while combing my fingers through my hair.

My throat felt tight and I sucked in deep breaths, while willing my racing heartbeat to slow down.

Before I could shove my phone into my pocket again, a ping notifying the arrival of a text made me let out a frustrated sigh as I glanced at the screen.

It was another text from Chris, and this time, there’s an address attached.

An address where he’s apparently waiting for me at, for me to come over and come service him.

When would this kind of thing end?

I let out a long sigh.

Oh well.
