Roy was waiting for us outside just like I ordered, but not to drive us to where we’d be going to tonight. He’s only here because he brought the car over for me.

He waved at us as soon as he noticed up approaching and Byrinth giggled beside me, a sound which was like a shot of heroin to me.

Ever since I got to know his actual, I’ve been referring to him as that within myself more and more, so that I could get used to it. I barely call him anything that’s not the nickname I picked out for me since the first time we crossed paths.

"Hi Jules." Roy drawled as he pulled the back door open with a dramatic bow, which made Jules laugh again.

"Stop being silly, Roy. But thank you." He breathed out before sliding into the car. Before I entered as well, Roy wiggled his eyes at me knowingly but I flipped him off at once, which made him snicker while shaking his head.

"So... where are we going?" Byrinth whined beside me and I snorted as I glanced at him.

"It’s a secret." I reminded him just as Roy pulled into the road.

"I could tell you." Roy offered and Bryinth perked up at once, eyes lightening up. "You know where we’re going?!" He asked and I rolled my eyes as I slid my arm around his waist and tugged him against my side.

"Ignore him, bunny. He doesn’t know anything."

Byrinth pouted beside me and I chuckled softly. If I knew he sucked this bad at being surprised, then I might have done this sooner because watching him try to figure it out over and over again is very entertaining.

"Blaze is right, bunny." Roy called out from the driver’s seat. "I was only messing with you. Blaze can be a secretive asshole so I don’t know where you guys are headed."

A lie.

Roy knew where I planned on taking my mate to tonight, but if there’s something he’s really good at apart from coding and driving, it’s lying.

"Oh... you aren’t driving us there? I just assumed we were going together and since you’re driving, then it means you know where we’re headed."

Roy snorted this time. "Oh, no. I’m not driving you guys today, I only brought Blaze his car. I’ll be dropping off at the bus stop then Blaze would take over the steering wheel from there."

"Ohh." Bryinth breathed out, cheek squished against my side.

After about five minutes, Roy parked the car and unbuckled the seat belt.

"I’ll be dropping off now." He breathed out before turning around and peering at me. I nodded once and he alighted the car after retrieving his phone. After that, Bryinth and I alighted the car as well.

Roy waved at and I reached out to pat his shoulders twice as I slid into the driver’s side this time. Byrinth waved at him before getting into the passenger’s seat.

"Have fun." Roy called out as I pulled into the road once again.

Bryinth was bouncing in his seat, clearly unable to sit still and it was taking everything in me to not let the cat out the bag at this point.

When my father showed up today, it threw me off guard because I didn’t think he’d show up, nor did I anticipate that I’d have an exchange with him. I usually needed to prepare myself before seeing him, so today’s encounter definitely threw me off guard.

But with my mate being with me, I’d been able to forget most of the encounter at this point.

"You know what we’re doing today?" I asked, eyes darting toward him for a moment.

He bit on his bottom lip for a bit before slowly shaking his head in response.

"We’re going on a date." I responded and his eyes widened for a moment.

"Like... like a second date?" He whispered and I grinned before shaking my head.

"No, bunny. Like a date-date, an actual one."

He nodded slowly before turning sideways. "What does that mean though?" He asked and I snorted while shaking my head, he was so funny and cute without even trying.

"You’ll see, bunny." I tell him and he frowned.

"Another surprise? At this rate, I’m gonna end up dying!" He whined out and I rolled my eyes.

"Quit being dramatic, bunny." I drawled and a pout formed on his mouth.

"I can’t help it." He mumbled and I reached for his hand to squeeze around his smaller fingers for a moment.

"Are we returning back to the dorms tonight?" He asked almost immediately like he just remembered and I snorted.

"Of course not."

His eyes widened this time. "What about our luggage? You know we’ll all suppose to return back to school today." He breathed out and I hummed as I dropped his hand to control the car with two hands.

"Someone’s gonna take care of that, I have it under control." I informed him and he visibly relaxed, and then he laughed a little.

"You always have everything under control." He sighed out, voice soft. "I wished I could be like that."

I glanced at him for a moment, taking in the dreamy expression across his face and I snorted.

When you’re forced to live like a criminal from birth, control comes as a second nature.

"Bunny?" I called out after about thirty minutes and he instantly perked up. I took in the curious expression on his face before continuing.

"I’m gonna ask you a question now, and I don’t want you to be weird about it, because there should be no reason to feel weird around me, okay?"

He bit on his bottom lip as he nodded. "Okay."

I hated that I just thought of this while driving, because I’d have preferred to have this conversation when I can give him my full attention, but I didn’t want to have this conversation with him in the heat of the moment.

"You can’t get pregnant, can you?"
