Chapter 148: Role Play [2]
Jules’ pov
"Oh." I whispered, completely unsure of what to say next. I was still processing all what he had just said, the probability of what he just explained never even crossed my mind until right now.
I let out a slow exhale as I slowly connected the dots.
"So when I said I wanted to be a cop, in this situation, what’s a cop supposed to do?"
The side of his lips twitched as he spoke. "In this case, if you wanna be a cop, I’d willingly play the role of a criminal. For that to happen, we’d need handcuffs, for the criminal."
I felt my eyes widen in horror. "So I- I’d have to handcuff you?" I felt appalled from just thinking about it and something flashed in Blaze eyes as he leaned down till his nose grazed mine.
"Think I’d let you do that?" He asked and I freez up.
"I mean, if I was your criminal, I’d definitely let you cuff me, because I’d enjoy seeing you try to act strict and harsh towards me. But I’d also totally be able to get you overpowered and then I’d have you handcuffed in seconds. Or I could let you cuff me and stay there because even with me being handcuffed, I’d definitely still be in charge and we both know it. So... does that sound intriguing?"
The entire image Blaze had just painted in my head was extremely vivid and the entire talk about handcuffs and dominance and who’s in charge had managed to leave me feeling flustered that I could feel myself starting to grow aroused.
His nose twitched and my cheeks instantly colored in mortification. I tried to roll away from the spot underneath him but he easily prevented that from happening.
"You’re such a little slut, bunny. Only sluts gets turned on at the mention of handcuffs." He drawled and my cheeks colored even more.
"I’m not turned on." I mumbled but he only snorted, clearly not believing me.
"As much as that sounds quite fun, we don’t have the supplies for that here." He explained and I blinked slowly.
"Supplies?"
He hummed. "Yup. Like handcuffs and the rest."
"Do you have handcuffs?" I asked and he hummed again.
"Yup. Back in school. I have a few." He explained and something tightened in my chest.
"Oh." I whispered.
"Do you role play with other people? Like... in the past."
I bit on my bottom lip once the question was out, because it felt like I shouldn’t have asked that since it’s the past and it’s pointless because no one can change the past.
Blaze searched my face for a few moments before leaning down and dragging his nose across my cheek and chin.
"A handful of times, yup." He finally answered and I felt my chest expand a little with a rush of emotions.
"Oh." I mumbled again as he pulled away to stare into my eyes once again.
"But it’s a different kind of role play... not the ones I just explained to you." He explained and I nodded even though I didn’t understand what he meant.
"Those role plays usually ends with me taking their lives, that’s the end game. Those handcuffs were because I’m usually too lazy to bother with ropes."
My heart literally flew into my throat as his response sank into my head. My mouth parted a little and I instantly snapped it shut as soon as I realized.
"Oh," I whispered, feeling like a zombie who only has one word in its vocabulary at this point.
Before I could say anything else, my phone began to ring, pulling me out of the moment and my eyes widened because my heart was still hammering against my ribs.
I wanted to roll away but Blaze didn’t budge.
"I have to answer it, it could be Andrian." I explained and he clearly didn’t want to move, but he finally rolled off me and I puffed out a long breath as I rolled out of the bed and picked up the phone.
It wasn’t Andrian.
It was Kai.
I felt my stomach instantly knotted up as I stared down at the caller ID.
I didn’t accept the call and it soon stopped ringing.
"It wasn’t Andrian?" Blaze asked as I turned around and I slowly shook my head.
I contemplated lying that it was someone else, but then I didn’t even see the point of lying because I literally have nothing to hide.
"It’s Kai."
Nothing indicated that Blaze wasn’t pleased by the new update except for the furrowing of his brows.
"Why is he calling you?"
I shrugged a little. "I don’t actually know. We don’t talk anymore." I explained as I sat at the edge of the bed.
I briefly wondered if Taylor had told Kai the entire thing that took place between us, if he had told Kai that I said I only tolerated him and that Josh didn’t like him either.
Well, if Taylor has done that, he wouldn’t be calling me, right?
In the next moment, the phone began to ring and this time, it was Andrian. I felt my heartbeat accelerate as I hesitantly accepted the call.
"You’re on your way already, right?" He asked and that was when I remembered that he asked me to come over tonight.
A quick glance at the screen of my phone revealed that it was past nine pm.
"It’s already late, Andrian, how about tomorrow?" I offered, gaze shifting towards Blaze who was watching me while listening in intently.
"No. It needs to be tonight. I can send someone to come pick you up if you’re worried about the time." He offered and Blaze shook his head firmly.
I cleared my throat slowly. "There’s no need for that, I’d just order an Uber right now." I informed me and he urged me to do that immediately and not waste too much time before the call ended.
"Oh my gosh. He’s definitely up to something tonight." I cried out while grabbing my hair in panic.
My phone pinged before Blaze could respond and when I glanced at the screen, I realized a couple of texts had come in.
They were all from Kai.
I hesitantly unlocked my phone and opened the text, and then my eyes widened in shock and disbelief.
Kai: don’t go anywhere tonight no matter what.
Kai: do you hear me?
Kai: Call me whenever you get this.
What the hell?
