Lake woke up to an insistent ray of sunlight falling right across his face, stretching as he got off the bed.

He straightened out the sheets and arranged the pillows out of habit, going to do the same to Davian’s bed.

The house staff only came in a couple of times a week to clean up so this little task fell to them.

He didn’t mind it, he knew without a doubt that Davian was currently making breakfast, it was only right that he did his bit.

Doctor Perez would be coming over that morning so Lake went right to the bathroom.

As soon as he stepped in, he was reminded how his shower of the day before had gone, making a mental note to never use the almond body wash again. At least not while he was still pregnant.

His worries were unfounded because the array of body wash had reduced drastically, and instead were all in a variety of chocolate-scented products.

Lake didn’t smile, his eyes stinging. This was the first time someone was paying such close attention to him, and going through the effort to make his life a little better.

He ducked under the shower and ran it, the warm water masking the trails of salty tears.

By the time he was making his way to the kitchen, he was bright-faced and smiling, his cheeks healthily warm.

The hairband on his hair was a solid black this time, his old t-shirt oversized, his shorts loose and comfy.

The smell of sizzling meat caught his attention as soon as he opened the door, Davian immediately turning around at his presence.

"Good morning," He beamed as he went to his favorite stool.

He didn’t bring up the obvious change in his body wash, the scent of milk chocolate lightly clinging to his skin, soon to be completely covered by his own honey-citrus scent.

"Sleep well?" Davian asked as he busied himself with serving up breakfast.

Lake didn’t bother hiding the fact that he was blatantly staring at Davian. "I did..."

"I made you dessert," Davian got to his feet as they were rounding up breakfast.

"Just for me?" Lake asked, torn between enjoying the attention and involving Davian.

"It’s cut-up fruits with a chocolate drizzle, I’ll pass." Davian was quick to say, knowing that Lake would try to get him to eat some too.

He didn’t have to try too hard because Lake’s eyes sparkled at the sight of the chocolate, making grabby hands for the bowl without thinking.

Davian placed it in front of him and cleaned up the dishes while Lake dug into the dessert.

He had provided the Omega with a fork but Lake hadn’t even given it a second look, going at the chocolate-covered berries with his bare hands.

By the time Davian was all done with the dishes, the only mess left was the sated, chocolate-covered Omega slouching at the counter.

"Did you like it?" He asked with a hint of amusement although the big bowl was completely empty.

Lake’s response was a heavy sigh, the Omega getting off his stool to wash his hands and face.

Davian took the empty bowl with a proud smile to clean up, making mental notes to make more ’desserts’ for Lake.

Lake’s soft groan brought his attention over to him, swallowing thickly when he saw that Lake had lifted up his shirt to pat his round tummy.

"I ate too much," He muttered, not an ounce of regret in his voice.

Davian was consumed with the urge to touch the Omega’s belly, but his hands were wet and he doubted Lake would appreciate that at the moment.

Doctor Perez was punctual, the doctor showing up with furrows on his brow. "Good morning, sir," He said politely to Davian, "Morning, Lake."

They were receiving the doctor in one of the second floor living rooms, Doctor Perez holding a rather large bag.

"I would have come right away yesterday night if you wanted." He said tensely.

"It’s really not that serious-" Lake tried to reassure him, but the doctor was already on his feet to check his vitals.

"The blood test results aren’t ready yet but I’ll hasten it as much as I can."

"I just get nauseous at certain things, I’m sure that’s not uncommon." Lake said tightly, starting to get worried now at the doctor’s frazzled reaction.

Micheal Perez froze, "Morning sickness?" He asked with palpable relief, glancing over at Mafia King Davian who stood off to the side, focused intently on them.

"Not quite. The first time it happened was over the fizz in nonalcoholic wine, and the next was an almond body wash. And I feel perfectly fine after Davian scents me."

Doctor Perez straightened up, Mafia King Davian hadn’t given him much details when he asked him to do an impromptu checkup so he had expected the very worst.

"It’s not uncommon," He said thoughtfully, "Do you feel nauseous in the morning?"

"I don’t," Lake replied, "Yet," He made sure to add, not sure if that would change in the near future.

"Then there’s no cause for alarm," He returned to put his stethoscope back in the bag he brought. "I would have recommend some relief for the nausea but if Mafia King Davian’s scent remedies it, there’s no reason to."

There was also no reason for Doctor Perez to stay longer after that, his next checkup wasn’t due for another week or two after all.

"Are you alright?" Davian closed the distance between them after Doctor Perez made himself scarce.

Lake frowned, he was fine but... "I’m sleepy," He admitted, disapproving of his own words.

Davian bit back a smile, "Want to take a nap?"

"I just woke up," Lake reminded, more worried about his drowsiness than he was about the randomly triggered nausea he got.

Davian knew that but he had also seen the Omega put away a lot of food, and a healthy serving of dessert to go with that.

"Maybe you’re still tired from yesterday," He bullshitted offering his hand.
