Chapter 173: +Chapter 173+
Scott and Roy were completely onboard with the plan, getting to their feet to leave the study first.
That left Katya behind with him, the older Omega positively glowing. "I’ll let you go change so we can leave." She said, getting up to leave as well.
Caspian looked alarmed at that, glancing down at the loose top and sweatpants he had on.
Was there something wrong with the outfit he had on that he couldn’t see? He hadn’t thought that he would need to change.
But now that Katya had pointed it out, he felt self-conscious about it.
But if he was going to change, what would he change into? Another set of printed shirts and sweatpants?
Caspian left his laptop behind in the study because he didn’t exactly use it for anything else, and this way, the chefs would be able to update necessary information.
He trudged to his room reluctantly, walking to the closet with a frown still on his face.
What exactly would one wear to shop for groceries?
None of the clothes in his closet had been gotten by him, except the outfits he got for the function and the swimwear he had only worn once.
Neither of those were suitable for a brief supermarket visit anyway, so they were useless.
His clothes were divided in two, the dresses and skirts he had gotten when he first got to the mansion, and the haul of random clothes that had been gotten for him when he had to leave the mansion for a while.
The poor men that had gotten him the clothes had been confused when they got them, so it was the most random mismatched items.
If anything, wearing a dress would be easier than trying to get a proper outfit out of them.
It reminded him again that he needed to learn how to style an outfit that he liked, and that was suitable enough to stand beside Asher.
The Alpha didn’t care much about what he wore but Caspian did care about what he wore.
After several minutes of hemming and hawing, he settled on jean shorts than turned out shorter on him than it initially looked.
But it was either them or cargo pants and those felt just like sweatpants to him.
Caspian stared at his thighs in the mirror, topless as he spun from side to side to make sure he wasn’t seeing things.
Maybe it was because he rarely wore short things unless he was going to bed but when did his thighs fill out so much?
He reached down to pinch them, leaving behind faint red marks when he did, a pleased smile on his face.
Now he would be less self-conscious if Asher wanted to rest his head on his legs. Doctor Brianna really hadn’t been seeing things, he was beginning to put on some healthy weight.
The shorts were white, but other than loose printed shirts, his other options were either little tops with the silliest things written on them or flamboyantly, loudly feminine tops.
He was fine with those, but it felt too much for a grocery run.
By now he had spent far too long obsessing about what to wear, so he hastily put on white socks with printed little hearts on them, going for boots instead of the running shoes he often wore.
A quick brush of his hair and a dab of lip tint later, and he was ready to go, nearly tripping in his hurry to leave the bedroom.
He bumped into Katya in the hallway, her contagious smile didn’t leave her pretty face when she saw him so he would take that as an approval of sorts.
"I’m sorry you had to come get me," He immediately apologized, guilt dimming his eyes.
Katya waved his apologies away, "I didn’t come for that," She corrected, walking beside him as they started down the hallway.
"Did something happen?" Caspian quickly asked, struggling a little to get his phone in the back pocket of the little shorts he had on.
"You could say that," Katya replied shiftily. "The news of you planning to feed the men spread somehow, and because most of them live or work nearby, I heard that they are planning to come in for lunch."
Caspian beamed at that, "Really? That’s great news."
Katya visibly relaxed at that. She had been a bit worried that the boss’ mistress would be frightened off by more mouths than he had bargained for.
But it was clear that he didn’t have any ulterior motive for his impromptu decision to feed some of Asher’s men.
His casual kindness had to be why he was so popular among the men.
"Do you think we’ll need to double the amount of the things on the shopping list?" He asked with genuine concern, heading for the kitchen.
Katya stuck to his side, "We might need to triple it but I’m worried about the long-term expenses."
Caspian snorted, that was still way less than his previous Pack House used to feed three times a day, sometimes more.
Besides, if it was an issue to Asher, the Alpha would have told him.
"Don’t worry, Asher can afford it." He said flippantly, heading to the study with Katya in tow.
They needed to update the new changes to the records, and the final updates would be made after they were done shopping.
"We’ll go with a couple of the kitchen staff and guards to help with the heavy lifting." Katya spoke up.
When she said that, Caspian’s eyes widened in alarm, he had almost left the mansion without his bodyguards.
Katya’s words just reminded him that he had to call them. He really didn’t want to drive in the back of a car with blacked out windows.
But he couldn’t drive...
Caspian turned to Katya as they went down the stairs, stopping momentarily so that he didn’t go tumbling ass over teakettle to the bottom of the stairs.
"Katya? Can you drive?"
The Omega looked startled by this question, "Yes?"
"Great!" Caspian beamed, "You’ll drive us to the store."
