Captive Mate BL

Chapter 140: +Chapter 140+

Caspian pressed a kiss over Asher’s lips, finger combing his hair back as he got comfortable, and made sure that Asher was also comfortable.

It didn’t take long for Jael to return after that, the Beta hesitating to come in for the longest time.

Asher rested his head against Caspian who was curled up on him, his breathing deep.

Caspian only spoke when Jael came closer, whispering so he wouldn’t wake Asher up.

"Were you able to find all you need?"

Jael’s dark eyes were fixed on Asher who was fast asleep, his body slack against his bonds.

Caspian impressed him each time, he handled Asher perfectly.

"Pretty much," He replied.

Caspian slowly got off Asher, his movements careful so he wouldn’t rouse him.

"Great," He mumbled, walking past him in a flurry of fur. "I’m going to shower, tell me when you move him."

Jael watched Caspian walk to the door and then struggle to move the heavy door; the men on the other side had to help him.

He shook his head fondly and then paid attention to Asher, the Alpha was completely knocked out.

This was great for him because moving him would be easy, and he would be able to do it all by himself.

Jael got busy freeing him from the chains, helping him out of the chair, and pulling one of Asher’s arms over his shoulders to support him.

If the men were startled to see him effortlessly move a docile Asher, they said nothing, giving them space.

Moving Asher like this reminded Jael of when they were younger and Asher would fall asleep in the most uncomfortable spots simply because he refused to admit that he was sleepy.

He would end up dragging him off to bed each night, even after threatening to ditch him.

Jael was well aware of what happened the last time he casually cuffed Asher to his bed, so this time he didn’t pull any punches.

Instead of an average chain link, he intertwined a couple of heavy-duty chains to make them tougher to break.

Asher wouldn’t be bound long anyway, he could tolerate being uncomfortable for a day or two.

He hadn’t even stirred once considering that the heavy chains dragged and he was getting cuffed down.

Jael started for the door when he was all done, it was already pretty late but he still needed to relay information to Caspian.

He also needed to talk to him.

Moving Asher hadn’t taken much time, so he hung around for half an hour more before going to find him.

It had been the same when he left him in the basement with Asher earlier, even after putting precautions in place to make sure that he wasn’t harmed.

Jael had the men at the door keep a sharp ear out, he needed to oversee the new sleeping arrangements in person but he was ready to rush down at the slightest moment.

There was no indication of distress, not even when he opened the door and hung back for several minutes more.

The door to the bedroom opened as soon as he knocked, like Caspian had been standing on the other side waiting for his arrival.

"He’s fine," He cut off the questions that the Omega had been about to throw at him. "He’s still asleep."

Caspian relaxed visibly at that, staring at him expectantly. "I can go to him, right?"

Jael had no intentions to stop him from doing that but he still needed to have a word to him. "In a moment..."

Caspian waited expectantly, "Is something wrong?"

"Just want to have a talk," He said lightly.

Caspian wasn’t convinced by this, "What about?"

"You and Asher," Jael said bluntly. "He mentioned to me that you wanted to try and figure something out."

Caspian crossed his arms with a tired sigh, "He wanted me to leave so much that he didn’t even listen," He reported.

He left out his growing worry that Asher would go back to trying to get rid of him after his rut passed.

"Come in," Caspian invited, leading the way to the sitting area.

If they were going to talk about this, it was going to take quite a while.

Jael followed obediently, "And are you sure you won’t go with that option?" He said carefully. "Asher’s rut is the least of your problems."

Caspian knew that, especially as his meds didn’t work anymore, so he would be getting his ruts more frequently, and yet they still had bigger problems.

"And how is leaving going to fix anything?" He countered bluntly.

Once again, they were so focused on him that Asher’s feelings were pushed to the background.

Jael clamped his lips shut at that, having no response to that.

"Asher losing himself occasionally changes nothing for me," He went on quietly, "It’s not exactly a part of him we can change so we might as well try to manage it."

Jael could see why Asher had been irked, Caspian made too much sense to counter his suggestions.

"And when he does lose himself?" He prompted.

"We tie him down?" Caspian pointed out the obvious, "Also could you get padded cuffs or less hurtful chains next time?" He blurted out, residual disapproval on his face.

"There must been less dangerous ways to keep him tied up..."

Jael quietly listened to Caspian scold him, making mental notes. "There are," He agreed easily.

Caspian did a double take like he hadn’t been expecting to convince him so easily. "G-Great, and we can take more precautions..."

Jael intently listened to Caspian speak. Asher had said that he didn’t take him seriously but the Omega had clearly thought it over so thoroughly that there were barely any loopholes.

"...reinforced doors would help too..." Caspian went on, listing off suggestions.

"Asher isn’t a danger to anyone else," He said earnestly, leaning forward. "And if we just need to keep one person safe from him, we can."

Jael had a thoughtful expression on, he wanted to tell Caspian that he didn’t need to try to convince him anymore because he was already onboard.

The Omega was also being exceedingly logical, even if he was averse to Caspian putting himself in ’danger’ at the start, he was now completely convinced.

"Besides, he’s not trying to hurt me, he just can’t control his strength sometimes," Caspian kept making excuses.

But all Jael could think about was how the dreaded curse passed down the Knight family might have been less of a death sentence if they just tried to work out a temporary solution.

Asher didn’t exactly fly completely off the rails, even Gage didn’t, not even when he was drunk.

It was like being around their mates made them lose control...

That made him realize that Asher’s strength didn’t just spike when he was out of control, he was always that strong... he just couldn’t control it momentarily.

Caspian had perfectly put it... The Omega’s eyes were earnest as he made his argument, leaning forward like he was trying to will him to understand.

"You’re right," He said simply.

"Also he... wait what?"

"I wasn’t doubting your words," Jael said, "I was merely thinking of how to convince Asher."

Caspian’s smile was blinding, "Really?"

"Yeah, convincing him will be a pain."

Caspian had to grimace, he had experienced that firsthand, a lot of times. "I should go check up on him." He started to his feet.

Jael didn’t try to stop him, holding out a gun. "Don’t forget this," He offered it.

Caspian grimace soured further, "Let’s hope I don’t shoot myself."

Jael’s usually passive expression twisted into one of horror, "Yeah, give that back to me."

"I was just kidding," Caspian waved his worries away, putting some distance between them so that Jael didn’t get up and snatch the tranquilizer gun right out of his hands.

"I need to set up alarms around the house," He muttered to himself, because it couldn’t get worse than both Asher and Caspian being unaware of themselves.

That was a recipe for disaster if he had ever seen one.

He got to his feet to go after Caspian, leaving the empty room behind.

He didn’t need to ask Caspian to know that the Omega had no plans to sleep alone in the bedroom.

Jael found Caspian waiting for him right outside the door so that he could lead him to Asher, his impatience clear to see.

"I’m pretty sure he’s still asleep," He grumbled as he led the way, pointing Caspian at the door when they got to it.

"It’ll be unlocked in case you need to leave, and if anything goes wrong, you know where to find me." He said levelly.

Jael wanted to give them their privacy so he wouldn’t have any guards in front of the door, but he had some stationed just down the hallway if things went sour.

"Thanks, you should get some sleep," Caspian said softly, gingerly opening the door.

"I won’t be getting any but thanks for worrying," He said bluntly, turning to walk away.
