Captive Mate BL -

Chapter 100: +Chapter 100+
Caspian kind of expected that answer. And Jael was right, it was probably best he got the answer from Asher himself.
"Alright, let’s get this over with," He sighed, walking out of the bedroom.
"You still haven’t eaten," Jael was quick to point out.
"I’ll do that after the check-up," He negotiated.
Caspian was worried that if he did try to eat, he would puke.
His stomach was tight with nerves, and his knees were wobbly for a completely different reason.
Caspian would have protested not going for a check-up harder but he really didn’t feel great.
Jael accepted the deal, picking his steps so that Caspian could keep up with him.
He was essentially doing this behind Asher’s back but he was really worried.
Caspian moved stiffly and he didn’t need to see more to guess the extent of his bruises. His skin was sickly pale and he had faint eye bags.
Jael helped him into the car, despite Caspian’s protests about him not being fully recovered.
For someone so fragile, worrying about others when he was in a worse state seemed to come naturally to him.
The car ride was quiet, the driver rolling the partition up as soon as he started the journey.
There was really no need to, neither of the passengers seemed inclined to have a conversation.
Caspian focused his attention on the outside world, while Jael scrolled through his messages.
Unsurprisingly, he hadn’t gotten anything new. Asher was most likely handling everything for the second day in a row.
When it had been his turn to shoulder all the duties they usually shared between each other, he had already begun cracking under the strain by the second day.
But although Asher was probably in a crappy state, he was handling everything just fine.
After he was done with Caspian, he would take the Omega back to the mansion, make sure he was alright, then he would drop in on Asher.
It wasn’t often he felt like punching Asher, but this was one of those times he might actually go through with it.
He noted that Caspian tried to hide how antsy he was the longer the ride went on.
"You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to," He said gently as the car drove into a parking lot.
"I know that," Caspian acknowledged, making no move to back out.
That was enough for Jael, he got out of the car and helped Caspian out of it as well.
This time, the Omega didn’t protest, the strain of moving showing on his feet as he gritted his teeth coming out of the car.
Caspian didn’t let go of his arm even when his feet were firmly planted on the black asphalt of the parking lot.
Jael let him, leading the way to the rather large hospital building. He had already made an appointment while they were still in the mansion, so they were expected.
Caspian stared up at the white building that was blinding in the late morning sun, the paint job and numerous windows reflecting the late morning sun.
He was antsy at the thought of stating why he was here in a huge waiting room filled with people.
His fears were however unfounded because a doctor stepped into the parking lot to receive them.
She was short and chubby, her aura as soft as her smile. Her eyes were hidden behind two thick lenses, the frames a pale pink.
"Good morning, Jael," She greeted him familiarly. "Good morning, Caspian."
Caspian didn’t expect her to know his name, mumbling back a greeting to her.
"I’m Doctor Brianna, and I’ll be the one doing your check-up," She explained in detail while they were still in the parking lot, her curly hair graying.
It was almost like she was giving him the chance to back out, "And if you would like someone else, I’ll be happy to comply."
"It’s fine," Caspian spoke in a soft voice.
"Alright," Brianna agreed. "Just come this way, we’ll get it over with in no time."
Caspian really hoped that would be the case, relieved that Doctor Brianna had followed a side entrance into the hospital.
In no time, they were all in a hospital room, Brianna directing him to sit on the hospital-green recliner.
Jael started to get antsy when Brianna went over to wash her hands and pull a pair of gloves on.
"I don’t need to be here during the check-up, do I?"
Brianna shot him a look over her shoulder but said nothing waiting for the quiet Omega to make that decision.
"You don’t," Caspian was quick to answer.
Brianna spoke up now, "There’s a connecting waiting room just off to the side," She dismissed him.
Jael quickly hot-footed it out of the room, he hated to leave Caspian all alone, but even more than that, he would prefer not to be jumped by Asher.
Back inside the hospital room, Brianna was walking over with a pleasant smile on her face.
"I’m just going to check your heart rate for starters," She explained kindly, holding up her stethoscope.
The Omega looked spooked so she wanted to take this as slow as possible.
Although Mafia King Asher owned this hospital, their influence was barely felt here, so it was very odd to get a call from Jael.
The Mafia King’s second-in-command calling to set up a medical appointment for a male Omega was even stranger.
The Mafia’s home base was outfitted with some of the best doctors who lived there for obvious reasons.
The Omega nodded resolutely, bracing himself for the stethoscope.
"Just breathe normally, no pressure," She spoke quietly to reassure him, releasing a bit of her soothing lavender scent to help him out.
There were no irregular beats and after a few moments of passing the cool metal back and forth, his heartbeat settled into its resting BPM.
"All clear!" She beamed.
Although it was glaring, she wisely didn’t mention just how completely covered the Omega was.
It looked like he was hiding something.
