Chapter 114: Chapter 113. Sick Little World

t.w: depiction of sexual harassment and abuse

All private clubs had their own quirks. Unlike Helios, which offered both public and private space for its clients, the club owned by Daesung Construction only provided private rooms.

Very apt for secret gatherings.

It didn’t pretend to be as posh as Helios either; one didn’t need to be extremely wealthy with some guarantors backing them up to rent one of the private rooms. Sure, the room still required a lot of surcharge, plus a hefty minimum amount of drinks ordered--but even a few rookie celebrities with decent pay could still chip in to have fun in a room. There was no scrutiny of their identities, or a certain amount of clout.

It didn’t carry as much weight as Helios in terms of the status it gave to the clients, but it was still popular due to the lavish building, which gave off a sense of luxury with easier entry conditions. A lot of celebrities and company executives used this private club for anything from negotiation to casual parties since the absence of CCTV in the rooms allowed them to do anything.

Anything at all.

With the right amount of hush money, security would pretend to be blind and deaf to anything that happened behind those doors.

Like what happened inside room 303.

A fairly large room, but only dimly lit by a few mood lights around the couch. Only two people were sitting there, however; half of the occupants were standing around the room, either talking among themselves or watching the ’show’ on top of the table, which had been turned into some kind of stage.

A deeply unsettling stage--at least for people with healthy common sense and sound morals.

A pair of barely clothed young women, barely adults, making out with tears on their cheeks on top of the table, which was surrounded by the other half of the party--a handful of cheering and laughing men. Their limbs trembled between scattered plates, shot glasses, and people’s jeers. Three young men reluctantly poured the contents of several provided bottles over the girl, biting their lips and trying not to look too much. Was it alcohol or something else, they had no idea.

Their friends, another three girls, were hugging in the corner, dreading their turn. It terrified them that it was only the beginning; that it would be getting worse and worse as the night deepened.

And yet, they knew that something even worse would happen to them if they tried to escape. Things that would make them wish they were dead instead; wish they had never stepped inside the accursed club.

No; they wished they had never said yes to the invitation--or better yet, never thought about being celebrities.

"Look at those expressions," the one sitting on the couch, an older man sixty years old, smiled as he pointed at the ’performers’. "Isn’t it more fun when they are reluctant?"

"You are right, Hyungnim," someone replied while politely pouring a drink into the empty glass in the older man’s hand. "It’s more satisfying than sluts who are willing from the get go. But..." he looked at the other man sitting on the couch, who was looking at the performance with a frown and crossed arms. "I don’t think Mr. Lee enjoys it."

The man, younger than the one they called ’hyungnim’, merely glanced at the speaker sharply. "It’s not to my taste," he said.

Indeed, he didn’t look like he enjoyed the performance. He was merely staying to curry favor--or rather, to make a connection--with the hyungnim, which he had been doing for the last few months. That being said, he also didn’t look disgusted or horrified with it, which gave him a pass.

"Everyone has their own taste," the older man curled his eyes, before adding coldly to his subordinate. "And what’s with the hyungnim? Do you think we’re a gangster or something? How many times do I have to tell you, huh?"

The younger man thought the hyungnim looked exactly like a gangster when he said that, but he kept it to himself as the subordinate bowed deeply. "I’m sorry, hyung--I mean, CEO-nim!"

The old man flashed a cold glare, and the subordinate bowed even deeper.

"I--I mean, Chairman-nim!"

"Mm..."

Again, the younger man, Mr. Lee, wanted to scoff. What chairman? They hadn’t even gone public. But of course, he didn’t say that out loud.

"But what exactly is your taste, Mr. Lee? We should have a party of your preference next--"

Before the hyungnim-CEO-Chairman could finish, the door to their large private room suddenly slammed open. The men around the room were startled and turned around ready to fight; at first, they thought the police had come to arrest them--but then, they remembered that they had a friendly, money-based alliance with them, so they thought a rival gang had come to fight.

What they saw wasn’t a rival gang, though, but merely two people. One of them did look like he belonged on the same side as them, but even if he was, there was no way he would be able to fight while carrying someone who was hugging his neck and kissing him passionately.

Besides, while rather disheveled, the clothes they wore were of expensive luxury brands--even if they reeked of alcohol. No gangster would wear such clothes to a fight where they could be torn or stained.

But, then...who were these people, who looked like they were about to tear each other’s clothes? Why were they suddenly in the private room?

"Huh?" the woman noticed something was wrong when the man stopped kissing her to look at the equally surprised people, asking in a slightly slurred speech. "Puppy, why didn’t you tell me we’re going to have a party?"

"Well...I didn’t know either, Master."

The man sounded more sober, but the lack of shock or fear inside his voice made the others feel he was actually even more drunk than she was. The woman, looking like a chocolate-covered strawberry with her pink hair and lacy black top, turned her head back toward the man. "Huh? You didn’t prepare this for me?"

The man looked offended at the statement. "Do you think I would call other men for your party?"

The woman giggled and grabbed the man’s face, peppering his handsome face with kisses as if the other people--the original occupants of the room--were merely decorations. They didn’t even seem to register the existence of the ’entertainers’ on the table, who had stopped moving when the men turned their attention to the unwanted guests.

For a second, they had thought someone had come to rescue them--but they realized soon that it was nothing more than wishful thinking.

Though, at least, the shift in attention gave them a bit of resting time.

"Who the fuck are you?!"

The nearest men, standing not too far from the entrance, confronted them harshly. Only with a loud voice and a menacing glare of a second-rate gangster, however, since it would seem overkill to put on a fighting stance againt a clearly very horny couple.

The other standing men also looked at them in irritation, while the hyungnim-CEO-chairman old man turned his head toward the couple in intrigue.

The young woman gasped, covering her mouth dramatically while her red-looking eyes curled in jest. "Oh, my--so rude!"

It was obvious that she didn’t feel even a bit threatened. Could be because her handsome boyfriend was built like a fighter, and had been holding her protectively. Could be because she was drunk.

People do be doing dumb things when they were drunk.

"What the fuck is the guard doing?" the man standing beside the chairman’s armchair shouted as if trying to show his domination. Which was stupid. They knew there were no guards around the hallway, since everything was supposed to be private. If anything, the fault was with the men who didn’t lock the room. "Get out of here now!"

"Aww~so stingy," the young woman pursed her lips, looking at the shouting man like he was a lame party pooper. "Why do you have to be so angry?"

The handsome man, who didn’t seem to be as drunk as her, answered logically. "I think it’s because we came into the wrong room, Master."

"Is that so?" the woman’s black eyes widened before they curled again and laughed at their own silliness. Still, she didn’t seem to feel guilty and ashamed--she looked annoyed instead, giving the shouting man a nasty side eye. "But there’s no need to be so angry, isn’t there, puppy?"

"I guess that is too much," the man nodded in agreement.

It stirred even more angry shouts from the standing men, who were all facing them instead of the trembling, almost naked youngsters on the table.

"What the fuck did you say?"

"Do you want to get thrown out harshly?"

"We’re going to show you what rude means!"

Those shouts, however, didn’t bring out the desired outcome as the woman hugged the handsome man’s neck tightly while letting out a fake scream. "Kyaah! So scareey~"

She even threw out a giggle, which made some of the men stir as if they were ready to rough the two up.

"You--"

"Wait! Ugh--"

The younger one on the couch, who had been fidgeting restlessly after widening his eyes at the drunk couple’s appearance, stood up and raised his hands to stop the men from doing anything.

"Hmm? What is this?" the old man arched his brow at him. "Do you know who they are, Mister Lee?"

The one who reacted first was the young woman.

"Huh?" at the sound of Mr. Lee’s voice, the young woman widened her eyes and jumped off the handsome man’s hold, parting her lips widely before calling up with arms raised as if she was greeting a relative. "Uncle!"

Well, perhaps because they were.
