Bound to the Triplet Alphas
Chapter 102: The Calling

Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The Calling

ARIA POV

I jolted awake with a scream stuck in my throat, my body soaked in sweat. The same dream again—wolves with silver eyes like mine, caught and calling for help. Their howls still echoed in my mind as I gasped for breath.

"Aria?" Lucien’s hand found mine in the darkness. "The dreams again?"

I nodded, unable to speak as the pictures faded. Every night for the past two days—since Luna’s warning—the dreams had gotten stronger. More serious.

"They’re dying," I finally whispered. "I can feel it."

Lucien pulled me close, his healer’s touch soothing my racing heart. "Who’s dying?"

"I don’t know." I pressed my hands against my eyes, trying to hold onto the fading images. "But they have shiny eyes. Like me. Like our babies."

The bedroom door burst open. Kael rushed in, his face tight with worry.

"Luna’s doing it again," he said.

We jumped from the bed and ran down the hall to the nursery. Inside, our daughter floated above her crib, surrounded by blue light. Her brothers watched from their cribs, strangely quiet.

"How long?" I asked Mira, who was standing guard by the door.

"Five minutes this time," she responded. "Longer than before."

I approached slowly, careful not to startle Luna. Her eyes were open but unseeing, solid black from corner to corner.

"Luna," I called softly. "Baby, can you hear me?"

Her small head turned toward my voice. When she spoke, it wasn’t with a child’s voice but with the eerie adulthood she’d shown two days ago.

"They’re calling you," she said. "Can’t you hear them?"

A chill ran down my spine. "Who, Luna? Who’s calling me?"

"The others. The ones who are changing. The Moon Goddess picked them too."

Before I could ask more, Luna’s eyes rolled back and the blue light disappeared. She dropped like a stone. I lunged forward, catching her tiny body before she hit the crib.

"It’s happening more frequently," Lucien said, checking her pulse. "And lasting longer each time."

"And Silas is coming tomorrow," Kael reminded us sadly.

We had spent the last two days preparing for whatever attack the Shadow Division was planned. Warriors patrolled our borders. Escape routes were made for the vulnerable. But we still had no idea what we were facing.

"She needs to rest," I whispered, putting Luna back in her crib.

She looked so small and weak now, nothing like the otherworldly being who had spoken with such certainty moments ago. I kissed her forehead and followed my friends from the room.

None of us went back to sleep. Dawn was coming, and with it, the final day before Silas’s promised return. We met in the council room where Jaxon was already waiting with Elder Malin.

"Any news from the northern territories?" I asked.

Jaxon shook his head. "Our couriers haven’t returned. But we’ve had three more tales of cubs born with silver eyes. All in different packs, all within the last moon cycle."

Elder Malin studied my face. "The dreams are getting worse, aren’t they?"

I stared at him in surprise. "How did you know?"

"The prophecy didn’t end with you becoming the Silver Alpha," he said softly. "It was just the beginning."

Before he could explain, a burning pain shot through my head. The room spun around me as I fell to my knees. Distantly, I heard my friends calling my name, but their voices faded as a vision took hold.

A young woman ran through dark woods, her silver eyes sparkling with fear. Behind her, guys in black uniforms with strange weapons closed in. She was pregnant, her big belly slowing her down.

"Help me!" she cried out, somehow knowing I could see her. "Please! They’re taking us all!"

A dart hit her shoulder. She stumbled, fell. The guys surrounded her.

"Another silver-eyed breeder," one said into a radio. "Preparing for transport."

The vision changed.

An older man with silver eyes fought against bars that bound him to a wall. In the cell next to his, a teenage boy—also with silver eyes—lay asleep on a cold floor. Both had marks on their arms where needles had been inserted frequently.

"Don’t let them take the children," the man whispered, as if he knew I was watching. "The Shadow Division wants the next generation."

Another shift.

A map appeared, glowing with points of light—seven of them, spread across the continent. Each light indicated a silver-eyed wolf. Three lights suddenly went dark.

Above the map, the Moon Goddess herself appeared, her form shifting between dog and woman, her eyes the same silver as mine.

"Find them," she ordered. "Unite them. Only together can you face what comes."

I gasped as the vision released me. I was on the floor of the council room, my friends surrounding me with panic on their faces.

"What did you see?" Elder Malin asked, his old eyes knowing.

Between ragged breaths, I told them everything. The pregnant woman. The caught werewolves. The map shows seven silver-eyed wolves.

"The Shadow Division isn’t just coming for us," I realized. "They’re hunting all the silver-eyed wolves. They’ve already caught some."

"But why?" Kael asked.

"Power," I whispered. "The same reason Silas went to them. They want what makes us different."

Jaxon slammed his fist on the table. "Then we fight. We’ve been planning for this."

I shook my head. "The Goddess showed me seven lights. Seven silver-eyed dogs like me. Four are still free, but three have been taken. If we lose even one more..."

"What happens if we lose one more?" Lucien asked quietly.

"I don’t know. But the Goddess was clear—we need to be united."

I stood up, my choice made. "I have to find the others. Before Silas and the Shadow Division get to them."

"No!" all three of my friends shouted at once.

"You can’t leave," Kael countered. "Not with Silas coming tomorrow."

"That’s exactly why I have to go now," I argued. "This is bigger than just our pack or our area. There are others like me out there, and they’re being hunted."

"Then we’ll come with you," Lucien said.

I shook my head. "You need to stay here. Protect our children. Prepare our people."

The debate continued as the sun rose. By noon, I had convinced them—or worn them down. I would leave within the hour, going light and fast. Mira would watch over the boys with Elder Malin’s help. My mates would prepare the pack for whatever Silas had planned.

As I packed a small bag, Luna started crying from her crib. When I picked her up, her eyes were normal again—no longer black, but the beautiful silver she had received from me.

"Mama has to go away for a little while," I told her, holding back tears. "To help other wolves like us."

She touched my face with her tiny hand. "The bad man knows," she said simply. Then she closed her eyes and fell back asleep.

My blood turned to ice. Had Silas somehow seen my vision too? Did he know I was leaving?

As I gave Luna to Mira, a howl of alarm sounded from the northern border.

"They’re here!" a warrior yelled, bursting into the room. "Humans with strange tools! And Silas is leading them!"

"But it’s too early," I gasped. "Luna said three days!"

Jaxon appeared in the doorway, his face grim. "It was a trap. He wanted you to see those dreams. To leave our land."

I closed my eyes, realizing the truth. The visions were real—the silver-eyed wolves existed and needed help—but Silas had somehow twisted the Moon Goddess’s message, making it seem more important to lure me away.

"What do we do now?" Mira asked, holding Luna protectively.

I looked at my daughter, then at the northern border where smoke was already rising.

I had an impossible choice—stay and fight Silas, defending my family and pack, or flee to find the other silver-eyed wolves before they were all captured.

And somewhere out there, the Moon Goddess watched, waiting to see if her chosen ones would join in time.
