Chapter 83: Defeated

At the sight of the Conceptual beings—Rank EX—the four human Lords did not panic.

Together, they were strong. Their presence radiated unshakable confidence.

And so, raising their hands before them, without wasting time on chatter, they prepared one of their most devastating attacks.

"Elemental Destruction."

The cry of the four preceded a wave of energy with uncontrollable destructive power.

A vortex of light and elemental fury spiraled outward, twisting the very fabric of reality around them.

The area, darkened by Prish, lit up for a moment.

But Aliken did not remain idle. With a nod of his head, his personifications of conceptual attacks unleashed their assault.

They only had to defend, nothing more.

But the power of the four humans was truly immense. Unlike the five personifications, their power was not simply additive.

It was not a 4 vs 5.

It was more like an 8 vs 5.

The result was inevitable...

Destruction.

The bodies of the personifications exploded into pieces, though they managed to achieve their goal, slowing and reducing the power of the humans’ attack.

Their forms shattered like glass struck by divine hammers, vanishing in bursts of ethereal sparks.

The remaining force struck Aliken, who merely opened the book and absorbed the attack.

However, due to the sheer power of the attack, there was a strong backlash.

Aliken fell to one knee, coughing and spitting blood from his mouth for several seconds.

Well, now the situation had become much simpler for the humans.

They only had to capture the two. After all, they should have no more defenses... right?

The only problem was that they too had very little energy left.

They could not unleash another one of those attacks. But they did not think they would need to.

"Alright, let’s take them—"

The voice of one of the four got caught in his throat at the sight of something absurd.

They saw the human who had been kneeling rise and use the book once more.

Then, another creature emerged.

Its power was stronger than those summoned before, but not excessively so.

However, the four humans watched the scene with a strange expression.

After all, the conceptual power radiating from that thing seemed very similar to their combined power...

"Is this a joke? Is he a monster too?"

But a moment later, as if to confirm his theory, a chilling scream echoed everywhere.

It was Erand Dulash, the one who had been facing Hero alone.

Well, he had minimal support from the two imperial consuls, yet the overwhelming number of undead and their constant attacks made it hard for them to perform at their best.

And the consequences were now clear.

Everyone turned their heads in the direction of the scream. And the scene they saw gave them chills.

A claw-shaped hand pierced through Erand Dulash’s abdomen, his body covered in cuts—some shallow, others deep.

His face was dark and sorrowful, as if apologizing to the others for his incompetence.

"Sorr—" He could not even apologize. Blood gushed from his mouth like water from a fountain.

After that, Hero threw the human toward Cambela, the only one who had not faced anyone. The only one who had not fought throughout the entire battle.

The human was one step away from death.

"Well done, Hero!" Cambela’s exclamation snapped the humans back to reality. "The master will surely be pleased!"

The humans had just lost a member of their team, one of the strongest.

And at that very moment, the other two humans fighting Leo’sol, distracted for an instant by their companion’s screams, were captured by the giant’s powerful arms.

His hands were large enough to hold the two effortlessly, squeezing their bodies and crushing their internal organs.

They could have done more, if only they were not so tired and low on energy.

After all, they were not undead. Their human bodies had limitations to contend with.

And so, Crev Posqu and The Immutable were also captured.

In particular, the latter did not show any change in expression.

In fact, it was as if he knew it would end like this.

Had he resigned himself? Or did he have other thoughts in mind?

But none of these thoughts crossed the minds of the remaining humans.

The two imperial consuls stopped using their power to deal with the legion, while the other four lowered their hands and heads in surrender.

The situation was clear.

There was no point in fighting.

"What? That’s it? We barely had any fun..."

Cambela’s voice scratched the humans’ egos like broken glass.

None of them responded—they were too exhausted.

And so, without a second thought, Hero approached them and, with a strike to the nape, knocked them all out.

Of course, knocking someone of that level unconscious was not that simple—it was just that they had let their guard down.

That’s all.

After all, they had realized they did not intend to kill them.

And so time passed, with the group of unconscious humans on the ground, awaiting Jeremy’s arrival.

But it was not only the Rank EX that had been captured. All the remaining Rank S who had survived the battle against the devils were there, unconscious.

But there was one exception. The only one still awake was Victoria.

She had a blank gaze toward the horizon, yet she was lucid. Her head was so full of thoughts that it seemed empty.

After several minutes, a human appeared, riding a majestic two-headed wolf, with a small raccoon on his shoulders.

"Mh, I see you did not waste time here, well done."

Jeremy’s calm voice and composed demeanor made his Osseoth Legion erupt in celebration.

Sounds of feet stomping the ground, hands clapping, screeches and shouts of all kinds.

They had won.

In this battle, they had triumphed, crushing all enemies in their path.

Well, there was still one left—Malrik—but the Empress was dealing with him.

He doubted Yvanna could lose, yet, in case it happened, he was ready.

Meanwhile...

Looking at the humans at his feet, Jeremy decided to act.

He unleashed his aura, waking them all from their unconscious state.

He was ready, ready to kill them all.

Why?

"Welcome back to the world of the living. You must be wondering why I want to kill all of you..." Jeremy’s words struck like sharp blades.

But no one responded—they could already guess.

Humans were weak. Aside from a few figures, like the Empress, that was a fact.

Whereas the figures behind Jeremy... they were truly powerful. Sure, maybe the common members of the Legion were not that impressive, but the fact they were immortal and tireless said a lot.

Furthermore, they were not even the final version.

They were simply stronger and better organized compared to before, when he was at Rank S, but he had big plans for them.

Starting with the modified Titans used to face the four Rank EX devils who had sold their souls to Malrik, Jeremy had many other ideas for them.

Only, this was not the time.

"The answer is really quite simple. One, because I want to. Two, because I can."

At this point, Jeremy’s voice, once cold and indifferent, became cruel.

His terrifying smile sent chills down spines.

Without realizing it, the power he held was consuming him.

And so, with a small nod, all the humans—except Victoria—had their heads cleanly severed.

But it was not Jeremy who did it.

With incredible speed, Drae’mon leapt from his master’s shoulders and, with a swift strike, sliced the air before him, sending a freezing wave of compressed air through the necks of all the humans.

Then, as if nothing had happened, he returned to the boy’s shoulder.

He wanted to be praised, but he knew it was not the right time.

The skeleton had an image to maintain. And so did Jeremy.

The only one left alive was Victoria, who now had a lifeless gaze.

Her feelings and emotions had left her body.

Luckily, Cambela approached and made her drink the Elixir of Control v2.

"Return to being the Vic of always, but follow the orders of your new master, Jeremy."

Cambela’s voice ran through her ears, brainwashing her.

"Hello, master!" Victoria’s gaze was lowered as she greeted Jeremy. Her smile had finally returned to her face.

The boy returned the greeting with a nod.

"Well, I can not have only undead in my faction." This was Jeremy’s excuse for keeping Victoria alive. There was no other reason.

After placing all the corpses in his domain, which now also served as storage space, Jeremy summoned his throne and sat upon it.

There was nothing left but to wait.

And so, time passed.

At first, just a few minutes.

Then, dozens of minutes.

"Why is Yvanna taking so long?" With these words, Cambela broke the silence.

Jeremy did not respond immediately. He was thinking the same thing.

Moreover, he could not sense her at all, despite the super senses he had developed through SuperCannon’s power.

He only knew one thing. Yvanna had dragged the devil into a parallel reality created by her.

A sort of prison.

That’s what the world was telling him. But he knew nothing else.

He did not know if she was winning, if she was in trouble.

But there was nothing he could do. He just had to wait.

He had other things to do, but he could not start the process in these conditions. Not before the threat was completely eliminated.

Moreover, if the devil’s words were true, then someone else was coming to this planet. He could not waste too much time. He would wait only one more hour before proceeding with his plan.
