Chapter 138: MATED TO RITA

{"With you, and through you, I will become what I long to be. I will become whole." }

The moment Rita shifted closer, her scent thickened in the air, drowning me in its intoxicating sweetness. It was a heady blend of wild roses and rain-soaked earth, something uniquely hers that ignited a primal need deep in my bones. My wolf stirred, a low growl rumbling in my chest as I breathed her in, letting the scent coil around me like a drug.

"You smell so good," I murmured, my voice rough, laced with hunger. I buried my nose against the curve of her neck, inhaling deeply. A shiver ran through her, and I felt the way her pulse fluttered beneath my lips.

"Flora," she whispered, her fingers threading through my hair, nails grazing my scalp. "You keep growling at me like that, and—"

I didn’t let her finish. I pressed closer, pinning her beneath me as I nuzzled the hollow of her throat, drinking in the warmth of her skin. My tongue flicked out, tasting her, and the taste only made my need worse.

"Mine," I rasped, the possessive growl rolling through me before I could stop. My wolf howled in agreement, a fierce, undeniable claim.

Rita’s breath caught, her body arching against mine, and I knew she felt it too, the bond, the pull, the way our souls recognized each other in a way that was undeniable, unbreakable.

I looked down at her, my heart pounding, my control slipping like sand through my fingers. "I need you," I whispered, the words raw, edged with something deeper than desire.

Her lips parted, her golden eyes burning into mine. "Then take me."

"Yes," I responded as I realigned our bodies together and rubbed her over and over until we both shattered. I then proceeded to place my tongue all over her body, mercilessly, not missing a mark, and Rita widened her legs, accepting everything I gave her.

"Don’t stop," Rita commanded as she was writhing under me, and I was elated at how good I made her feel as her head was thrown back in pleasure and her eyes rolled, mouth hanging open and chest heaving.

"Why the fuck would I stop?" I growled as I bit her nipple, and the sound that came from her mouth was in between a moan and a grunt. Your scent is intoxicating. "

It was then that Rita pushed me on the bed, and then she repeatedly licked and kissed me senseless until I saw stars as my body shattered from the way she held me. "Fuck" I cursed out.

"Oh Flora, I do intent to Fuck you hard and soft "She whispered.

I lay there, breathless, wrapped in Rita’s warmth, my body still humming from the way we had come together—wild and boundless, as if the universe itself had been waiting for this moment. The scent of our love lingered in the air, mingling with the faint traces of roses and rain that clung to her skin.

Rita’s fingers traced slow, lazy patterns across my shoulder, her touch soothing, reverent. She pressed a soft kiss against my temple, her lips warm, grounding. "Flora," she whispered, her voice filled with something tender, something unbreakable. "Are you okay?"

I tried to answer, but a strange lightness filled me, as if I were floating between wakefulness and dreams. The room wavered at the edges, shadows curling like wisps of smoke.

"I... I think..." My words came out faint, barely a breath.

Rita shifted beside me, concern lacing her touch as she cupped my cheek. "Flora?" Her voice was softer now, her thumb brushing against my lips. "Stay with me, love."

I wanted to. Goddess, I wanted to. But an unfamiliar drowsiness pulled at me, wrapping me in its embrace. My body felt distant, weightless, as if I were drifting away from the very moment I never wanted to leave.

"Flora!" Rita’s voice trembled with worry, but it sounded farther and farther away. I reached for her—at least, I thought I did. My fingertips grazed nothing but air. Her scent, her warmth, everything that tethered me to this moment faded into the quiet pull of darkness. And then, I surrendered to it.

The golden morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. I stirred slowly, my body deliciously sore, my muscles aching most sweetly. A deep stretch rolled through me, a lazy satisfaction settling in my bones as I became aware of the warmth pressed against me.

Rita.

She was wrapped in my arms, her body curled against mine, her breathing slow and peaceful. Her bare skin was soft beneath my fingertips, marred with faint love bites and the delicate imprint of my teeth. Mine to mark. Mine to claim. A deep hum of contentment rumbled in my chest as I tightened my hold on her, pressing my lips to the top of her head. The scent of roses and rain still clung to her, mingling with the remnants of last night’s passion. I let my fingers trace the curve of her spine, relishing the way she fit so perfectly against me.

I lifted my head slightly, my gaze drinking her in, lips slightly parted, lashes resting against flushed cheeks, her golden hair a wild halo against the pillow. Goddess, she was beautiful.

"Rita..." I murmured, my voice husky from sleep, but she didn’t stir. A lazy smile tugged at my lips. She must have been exhausted, and I couldn’t blame her. We had lost ourselves in each other repeatedly, surrendering to the pull of the bond, the need, the love that had always been there, waiting to be claimed.

I ran my fingers gently along a love mark on her collarbone, feeling the slow thrum of her heartbeat beneath my touch. She sighed softly in her sleep, pressing closer, and I swore my heart ached at the simple, instinctive way she sought me even in dreams. Mine. The thought settled deep in my chest as I buried my face in her hair, breathing her in, letting the quiet morning wrap around us like a secret only we shared. And for now, I let her rest, knowing we had all the time in the world.

I slipped out of bed carefully, not wanting to disturb Rita’s peaceful slumber. My body still hummed with the lingering echoes of our love-making, a pleasant soreness stretching through my limbs. The sheets were tangled, carrying the scent of roses and rain—her scent, now mixed with mine.

With a deep breath, I padded toward the bathroom, the cool tiles soothing against my heated skin. Warm water cascaded over me as I stood under the shower, eyes closing as last night replayed in my mind—her breathless moans, the way she clung to me, the way our souls had melded into one. My wolf stirred, satisfied, possessive.

By the time I stepped out, wrapping a towel around me, a deep warmth had settled in my chest. I wanted to do something for her, something simple, something human.

I made my way to the kitchen, tying my damp hair into a loose bun. The scent of sizzling butter filled the air as I moved, my hands working on instinct, lost in the quiet joy of making something for my mate. My thoughts wandered to her, how soft her lips felt, the way she whispered my name like a prayer, the way her body had yielded to mine so perfectly.

So lost in the throes of last night, I never heard her approach.

Strong arms wrapped around my waist, a warm body pressing against my back. I gasped, my heart stuttering before I melted into her familiar embrace.

"Rita," I breathed, the heat of her lips grazing my bare shoulder, sending a shiver down my spine.

Before I could turn, she spun me in her arms, and our mouths met in a slow, searing kiss. My fingers found their way into her hair, tugging her closer as she deepened it, her tongue tracing along mine in a way that made my knees weak. When we finally pulled away, my breath was uneven, my body already aching for her again.

She leaned in, brushing her lips against my cheek before whispering, "Good morning, my love."

The words sent a rush of warmth straight to my core, my eyes gleaming with pleasure and something deeper, something eternal. "Morning," I murmured, cupping her face, my thumb tracing her lower lip. "You’re up early."

She smirked. "How could I sleep when my mate wasn’t beside me?" Goddess, I loved this woman. The food could wait. I had something far sweeter in my arms.

The smell of butter and warm spices lingered in the air, but nothing could hold my attention now—not when Rita was standing in front of me, breathless and flushed, her lips still swollen from our kiss. I barely registered my movements as I reached out, turning off the stove with a flick of my wrist. Before she could protest, I bent down and swept her into my arms, earning a surprised gasp before it melted into laughter. The sound, light, and carefree wrapped around me like the sweetest melody.

"Flora!" she squealed between giggles, her arms tightening around my neck. "What are you—?"

I grinned, pressing my forehead to hers as I carried her effortlessly toward the bedroom. "Taking you back where you belong."

She tilted her head, amusement dancing in her eyes. "And here I thought you were making me breakfast."

"I was," I murmured, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to her jaw. "But you taste so much better."

Heat flushed across her cheeks, her laughter fading into a soft sigh as I nudged the bedroom door open with my foot. I laid her down gently, hovering above her, my fingers tracing idle patterns along her bare thigh. You’re insatiable," she whispered, though there was no complaint in her voice, only anticipation, only desire.

I smirked, brushing my lips over hers, savoring the way she melted beneath me. "Only for you, my love." And as I captured her mouth once more, the morning sun bathed us in golden light, bearing witness to the way we unraveled for each other all over again.
