Chapter 37: We Found Him!

So much has happened in Noah’s life over these past two days.

His mother passed away unexpectedly yesterday.

Today, after he sent his mother to her final resting place, someone is trying to reveal his identity as Anderson Morgan’s son.

With Matthew’s warning, he had no choice but to leave Green Lake Town as soon as possible and return to Opal City to settle matters before he moved to the Capital.

However, they could only leave the town once night arrived to avoid raising suspicion.

This sudden move confused his sister, Alicia, right away.

At first, Alicia was reluctant to go today. But, after he gently persuaded her that they could visit their parents’ grave before heading to the Capital, Alicia finally agreed.

Noah couldn’t help but smile, finding joy in his little sister’s happiness.

"Brother Noah, are you really staying here? Alone? Wow! This place is so big..."

Alicia’s warm voice gently drew Noah from his troubled thoughts, and he turned to see her coming closer.

"Yeah. I recently moved into this place." He smiled, noticing the doubt in her eyes. "Aren’t you tired, Alice?" he asked, attempting to divert her thoughts.

"A little. But I’m not too tired," Alicia replied, standing next to him, her gaze captivated by the city below. "This is the first time I’ve seen the city from such a height, and it is stunning."

"Yeah. It’s beautiful here. But we can’t stay too long, Alice. We must head to the Capital soon." He reminded her once more about her studies.

They became absorbed in their thoughts, watching the street below slowly empty.

Soon after, Alicia’s worried voice pierced the silence, "Brother Noah, are you in trouble?"

A frown appeared on Noah’s forehead, but before he could turn to her, he adjusted his expression to one of calm. "Trouble? Why do you think so?"

Alicia diverted her gaze from him to the city lights ahead. She calmly responded, "I read the news and social media. The Anderson Morgan they mention is your biological dad, right?"

Noah chuckled.

"You are indeed smart, Alice!" Noah smiled as he turned to see her.

This was his fear: people who recognized his last name might become suspicious of him if they read the news.

"Yes, it was me. That’s why we must hurry to the Capital. I’m worried reporters might find me in Lake Town or here and cause a commotion..." Noah replied casually to ease her worries.

As Alicia stood beside Noah, she sensed a change in him when she focused solely on him. He appeared taller, and his physique seemed a bit more toned. His arms looked strong, and his face seemed more handsome as well.

’Did his body change and look more athletic, or is that just in my head?’ Alicia wonders with curiosity before dismissing the idea. ’Maybe since my brother became wealthy, he has money to get fitter and healthier as well...’ She tried to hold her giggle but failed.

Alicia can’t help but laugh as she looks at her brother. "Hahaha, bro, why do I now see you as a celebrity? Everyone on the internet is trying to track you down..."

Noah gently tousled her hair.

"That is ridiculous. And stop imagining stupid things like that. I’m still the same, your big bro."

"Yeah, I know. I was joking."

When Noah noticed that Alicia wasn’t responding, she simply smiled while yawning; he promptly took her to the guest room.

"You will be using this room, Alice." He allowed her to enter the guest room. "As for your clothes, we’ll go shopping tomorrow."

Noah feels terrible because they left in such a hurry. His sister didn’t have many clothes; she only brought a few sets and her essential belongings.

"Shopping?"

"Hmm! You can buy anything you want, and I mean anything. Your brother has plenty of money now," he said with a cheerful smile. He needs this to lift her spirits and distract her from the grieving of losing their mother.

After a quick conversation, Noah let Alicia leave first to rest before returning to his bedroom. He was too tired to check his phone and missed an important message from Matthew.

The following day, Noah awakened with a pounding headache that seemed ready to burst. He growled, feeling terrible as he rubbed his head.

He sat on the bed’s edge. Soon after, he barely caught a voice coming from outside.

"Alice?" He silently scolded himself for forgetting about his sister.

Noah hurried out of the room and was surprised to find Alicia busy in the kitchen.

"You cook? You don’t have to... we can eat at a nearby restaurant."

"Yeah, it’s fine. I only cook instant noodles I found in the kitchen," Alicia replied, turning to look at him. Her eyes widened in surprise at what she saw.

"For God’s sake, big bro, wear something!" Alicia said while returning with the noodles before her.

Noah was slightly taken aback when he noticed he was only in his boxers.

"Oops, sorry!" He quickly headed back to his room to put on some proper clothes.

As Noah finished dressing in his proper clothes, he was about to leave, but noticed his cell phone vibrating on the bedside table.

He felt a nervous flutter in his heart when he noticed it was a text from Matthew.

"Sir, we’ve identified the mastermind and captured him. Please call me back after reading this!" From: Matthew.

’Damn it! Why did I just read this message?’

Noah was annoyed when he checked the clock. The message arrived before he slept.

He called Matthew right away to find out who was behind his mother’s murder.
