Chapter 337: -92- Sealing of the Holy Scripture

"Ow!"

The fierce howls of wolves echoed through the sky.

In the night, several gigantic wolves shrouded in black mist, with fierce red eyes and ferocious appearances, encircled a bare dirt slope.

Or more precisely, their crimson eyes greedily focused on the petite figure on the slope.

A terrifying aura emanated from the bodies of the gigantic wolves.

With their mouths wide open, dripping with corrosive acidic saliva, their terrifying appearance was enough to make anyone who saw them shudder.

Within their encirclement, on the dirt slope,

the petite figure remained unmoved.

She simply turned around and slowly opened her eyes.

Under the night sky, her scarlet pupils emitted a faint red light, deeper than the madness of the giant wolves.

She gently lifted her hand, and a black phantom erupted behind her.

The giant wolves howled as they rushed toward her, but in the next second, ghostly black shadows passed through every attacking wolf.

Black and red blood mist blossomed like blooming flowers, and the giant wolves were instantly beheaded.

They continued forward out of inertia for a few steps before collapsing to the ground, lifeless.

All this happened in an instant, and the petite figure had merely lifted her hands slightly.

Her gaze landed on the bodies of the giant wolves, a hint of satisfaction showing in the depths of her pupils.

She stretched out her hand and beckoned slightly, and the next second, the crimson blood, as if alive, flew continuously from the severed necks of the wolves, converging toward her.

She gently opened her mouth, and the crimson blood was devoured easily like a reversing waterspout.

As the blood drained away, the bodies of the giant wolves on the ground shriveled, dried, and finally turned into horrifying mummies.

In the night sky, the heavy clouds gradually dispersed, revealing the bright moonlight that illuminated the petite figure.

Golden hair, scarlet eyes, along with a stunningly beautiful face and a white dress that did not match the freezing surroundings—who could it be if not Charlotte activated by the power of the Bloodline?

Feeling the abundant magic power and the sense of fullness after feeding, Charlotte displayed a satisfied smile.

She gently touched her slightly over-filled stomach and snapped her fingers lightly; a blue flame erupted among the wolf corpses, instantly erasing all traces.

After all this, Charlotte nodded in satisfaction, then leaped, turning into a clump of black mist, disappearing into the darkness.

In the makeshift camp,

the black mist slowly gathered and formed into Charlotte’s shape.

She landed steadily and looked at the sky gradually showing the white of dawn, then put back on the fur coat borrowed from Halfdan, and then gently pointed at the sleeping hunter.

A flash of crimson brilliance passed by, and the sleeping magic on the hunter was lifted.

Soon, the soundly sleeping Halfdan groggily yawned while slowly opening his eyes.

Seeing the girl warming herself by the fire, he immediately became alert and exclaimed,

"Oh! Hell! Lord Apocalypse Heir, I’m sorry! I fell asleep again!"

"Damn it! I was supposed to be on watch!"

Watching the shouting hunter, Charlotte smiled and said,

"It’s alright, it doesn’t matter who keeps watch since I can’t sleep either."

"But I was supposed to do it! I’m really sorry! It’s too slack of me to fall asleep while on night watch in the wild! You should know that wild wolves often roam around here! One of those terrifying creatures could take our lives, not to mention they often move in packs! Even the Apocalypse Lords have to be cautious around them!"

Halfdan spoke guiltily and fearfully.

But after he finished, looking at the orderly camp and the untouched beast repelling powder, he paused and said,

"Uh? Lord Apocalypse Heir, last night... did we still not encounter any roaming nocturnal wild beasts?"

Charlotte nodded as if it were obvious,

"Yes, it was another peaceful night, no monsters attacked the camp."

Halfdan looked surprised and scratched his head in confusion.

"Strange! I remember there should be plenty of wild beasts on this road... How come we haven’t encountered a single one in the past few days?"

"Isn’t it good that we haven’t encountered any?"

Charlotte asked with a smile.

Halfdan hesitated for a moment, then shook his head,

"That’s not exactly it... after all, we are on our way back, and the Divine Bow’s energy has also been nearly depleted. It’s naturally safer not to encounter wild beasts. However... the fact that we haven’t even seen the weakest wild rabbit on this journey is... really quite eerie."

He said, his face clouded with worry,

"Lord Apocalypse Heir, we haven’t come across any wild beasts for several consecutive days, this is definitely not normal!"

"Wild beasts are abundant in the Northern Border, and they usually go out collectively in search of food after snowstorms. Not encountering anything for such a long time might not be a good thing."

"Lord Apocalypse Heir, I suggest we quicken our pace. Wild beasts are usually sensitive to their surroundings, and I wonder if they sensed some unknown dangers and have all stayed away from this area..."

"Perhaps, there are some stronger beings or some brewing disasters around."

Halfdan said anxiously.

Hearing his words, Charlotte smiled and said,

"I have no objections."

"Then let’s pack up and move quickly. No matter what monsters or disasters are nearby, as long as we get back to the tribe, we’ll be safe."

Halfdan said.

As soon as he finished speaking, he immediately began packing up.

There wasn’t much for Charlotte to pack.

She did want to help, but Halfdan wouldn’t let her, or rather, he didn’t dare let her.

The title "Apocalypse Heir" was bigger than she had expected, at least for Halfdan; Charlotte felt that in her presence, this hunter seemed as meek as a servant.

Not needing her help, she was content to be at ease, and simply started checking her own condition.

A week had passed since she awoke; after the three days of blizzards, once the weather had cleared, she and Halfdan set off on their journey to the tribe in the Northern Border.

On their way, Charlotte traveled with Halfdan during the day and at night she would knock him out quietly to hunt wild beasts and restore her strength.

The reason they didn’t encounter any wild beasts along the way was either because she had killed them all, or perhaps the creatures had sensed the danger and fled early.

With continuous slaughter and devouring, Charlotte’s strength had restored back to its peak before she was awakened, and she was just a step away from breaking through to the Second Tier of Silver Moon.

However, what troubled Charlotte was that though her strength had been restored, she had still not found a way to return to the other era.

Unlike before her awakening, she didn’t feel any sleepy drowsiness and was always alert.

As for the Blood Holy Scripture in her consciousness, after so many days of checking post-power resurgence, Charlotte noticed some differences from before her awakening.

On one hand, the Blood Divine Power that the Blood Holy Scripture used to contain was gone. Charlotte didn’t know whether "crossing" to this era had exhausted all Divine Power or if it was due to some other reason. In any case... currently, she could not sense any Divine Power.

Also, the True Ancestor Liberation, which was originally in an "unlocked state," was resealed; at least in her consciousness, its icon for manifestation had turned gray.

On the other hand, the Crimson Star Sea that Blood Summon could unfold had also disappeared.

More accurately stated, the originally dazzling Star Sea had turned into a foggy world, and even Sebastian and Yulster, who had entered into a Blood Contract with Charlotte, their representative stars were nowhere to be seen.

Nevertheless, although the stars representing the Bloodline had disappeared, Charlotte could still faintly feel a subtle connection deep within her soul.

She could sense that her connection with the two Blood Favored, as well as Yulster, the Contracted Servant, was still there, but it seemed to be interfered with or blocked by something, which made it difficult for her to contact them now.

Charlotte didn’t know whether it was the influence of temporal forces or some other reason, but she was sure that as long as she was in this era, she would probably be unable to contact her Favored through the contract.

The only unexpected thing for Charlotte was the Believer.

Those Believers based in the Blood Wolf Tribe were still present and could be clearly sensed.

However, similar to the Blood Favored, although she could sense them, she couldn’t project power or contact them through the Faith connection as usual.

In summary, part of the power of the Blood Holy Scripture was sealed.

With the external aid being sealed, Charlotte’s sense of security significantly decreased.

Now, all she could do was to continue enhancing her strength by devouring the bloodline power of wild beasts and then attempt to break through to Silver Moon in this era.

After packing up, the two resumed their journey, and three days later, Charlotte finally reached Halfdan’s tribe.
