Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel
Chapter 334: -90- Heir of the Apocalypse

Chapter 334: -90- Heir of the Apocalypse

Charlotte felt shocked by her own speculation.

Of course, speculation was just that, and to ascertain the truth, she needed more information.

"The snowstorm at the Northern Border is a curse from the deity; once it starts, it will last at least three or four days. We will probably have to stay here for these few days."

"Miss... may I take the liberty to refer to you as miss, if you wish to know more information, you can come with me to our tribal camp after the storm to seek out the Priest Elder."

"Our Priest Elder often deals with the Apocalypse Lords and should know more, which might help you recover your memory..."

Watching Charlotte, sunk in thought, Halfdan sincerely suggested.

The Priest Elder who often interacts with the Elves...

Charlotte pondered thoughtfully.

After a moment of contemplation, she nodded lightly:

"Thank you."

Having lost all her Magic Power, unable even to enter the world of consciousness, Charlotte must be experiencing an unprecedented period of weakness.

She indeed needed a relatively safe environment to familiarize herself with this "era" and to find a way to regain her strength.

And only by regaining her strength would she have the hope to go further and find a way to return to "another era."

"You are welcome, actually... helping you also serves my interest. After all, in my eyes, you have a great potential to be the Apocalypse Heir. If I can assist you, I might also receive a reward from the Central Tower."

"My Divine Bow has not been serviced for a long time, and there are not many Divine Arrows left. Without the Divine Grace of the Central Tower to replenish Divine Power, I fear it would be difficult for me to complete the hunting mission this winter."

Halfdan said.

"Divine Bow? Divine Arrows?"

Charlotte’s interest was piqued as she looked towards the longbow next to Halfdan.

Actually, she had noticed the longbow the moment she woke up.

Unlike Halfdan’s worn, primitive animal skin coat, this longbow looked much more exquisite and out of keeping with his personal style.

At first, Charlotte hadn’t paid it much attention, but now, having heard Halfdan’s reference to it, she couldn’t help examining it more closely, and then she indeed saw traces of the Elven style on the longbow.

This seemed... like an enchanted weapon!

Meeting Charlotte’s gaze, Halfdan also took the opportunity to pick up the longbow:

"Yes, this is it."

"Unlike the Apocalypse Lords and the Heir of the Apocalypse, we do not possess divine power; we can only use weapons bestowed by the Apocalypse Lords to fight against the Wild Beasts cursed by the Old Gods..."

"The Central Tower shelters us and provides us with Divine Weapons, while we use these weapons to hunt Wild Beasts and offer Offerings to the Apocalypse Lords."

"If we fail to complete our hunting mission, my family and I will lose the right to use the Divine Bow, and the Divine Weapon will be reclaimed—a terrifying outcome that I cannot afford."

The Elf Clan bestows enchanted weapons, and the Mortals hunt with them, offering gifts to the Elves...

Charlotte’s eyebrows rose.

But soon after, she noticed a problem.

Only Transcendents could use enchanted weapons, yet the Hunter before her was clearly a Mortal. How was he using this enchanted longbow?

"Mr. Halfdan, may I take a look at your bow?"

Charlotte asked inconspicuously.

"Oh, of course, but please be careful. I’m not ashamed to admit that my family’s and my own survival depend on it..."

Halfdan said.

As he spoke, he carefully wiped the longbow, gently cradled it in his hands like a treasured artifact, and presented it to Charlotte.

Charlotte took the longbow and examined it closely, and she quickly saw familiar writing on the bow’s body.

It was the Elven language.

This was indeed an enchanted weapon!

"Sharpness, lightness, reinforcement..."

Following the half-baked knowledge she had scrambled to learn after Crossing, Charlotte enunciated the enchantment runes with ups and downs in her voice.

As she recited them, the longbow radiated a soft glow, and Charlotte sensed a familiar power emanating from the bow.

It was... Magic Power!

In addition to Magic Power, Charlotte even felt a vibrant life force flowing from a Crystal Core embedded in the side of the longbow.

It was the power of life, much like the energy she had obtained from drinking Transcendent blood.

Still, unlike the rich and flavorful Transcendent blood that Sebastian had found for Charlotte, the life force emerging from the Crystal Core was much more ferocious and chaotic, and the taste left much to be desired.

But to Charlotte’s delight, the life force was an excellent supplement for the Bloodline, effective in replenishing Magic Power or strengthening bloodline power!

However, seeing the runes on the bow’s body begin to fade with the flow of life force and Magic Power, Charlotte’s heart skipped a beat, and she promptly stopped reciting, preventing further loss of power from the longbow.

She wanted to examine this enchanted weapon, not destroy it.

Charlotte couldn’t say for certain how much strength the pitiful amount of energy in the enchanted weapon might restore to her, but even considering Hafdan had saved her, she felt she shouldn’t destroy someone else’s enchanted weapon.

It was a principle she upheld as a person.

"Do you... recognize the Divine Language? Can you use the Divine Bow?"

Looking at the longbow emitting a faint light, Hafdan’s eyes widened.

Charlotte glanced at him and nodded,

"It seems... I might know a little."

Hafdan immediately became excited,

"Lord Heir of the Apocalypse! You must be the Heir of the Apocalypse! Only the Apocalypse and the Heir of the Apocalypse can master the Divine Language with Divine Power and use the Divine Bow at will!"

Charlotte was noncommittal in the face of Hafdan’s excitement.

If her guess was correct, in a sense, she might indeed be the "Heir of the Apocalypse" that this hunter was talking about.

Through the various pieces of information provided by Hafdan, Charlotte was almost certain that the so-called Apocalypse referred to the Elf Clan.

And as for the Heir of the Apocalypse... if her judgment was correct, it was very likely the offspring of Elves and humans, the Half-Elves.

Charlotte’s ancestors had Elf blood.

Though it was quite thin by her generation, strictly speaking, she was still a Half-Elf.

This was authenticated by the Blood Holy Scripture.

The "Chosen One" was probably those humans who mated with Elves.

"Lord Hafdan, how do you normally use a longbow like this?"

Charlotte handed the longbow back to him and asked.

"How to use it? Hmm... naturally through the Divine Imprint. We can’t wield Divine Power as freely as the Apocalypse or the Heir of the Apocalypse; we can only use it indirectly through Divine Grace Imprints given by the Tower."

Hafdan explained.

As he spoke, he raised his hand to show a complex imprint.

Upon seeing the imprint, Charlotte’s brow furrowed slightly.

Though she had crammed various magic knowledge after her crossing, her understanding of imprints wasn’t extensive, and she couldn’t discern the function of this imprint.

However, following the principle of "equivalent exchange," since Hafdan, a mortal, could use an enchanted weapon, there must certainly be a price to pay.

"Lord Hafdan, using an imprint like this, the price must be steep, right?"

Charlotte asked subtly.

"Of course, there is a price, but whatever the cost, it’s nothing if it allows us to survive."

Hafdan shook his head and said.

Hafdan’s open-minded approach somewhat surprised Charlotte.

However, she didn’t know much about this era and wasn’t qualified to judge his choices.

Right at that moment, the sizzling sound of boiling water came from the stone pot on the campfire.

Along with the sizzling was an enticing aroma of meat.

"It’s ready, the soup is done, Lord Heir of the Apocalypse, you must be hungry too, right? Try my cooking!"

Hafdan rubbed his hands together, lifted the pot lid, and an even richer aroma of meat hit them.

He took a spoonful to taste for saltiness and smiled contentedly,

"Mmm! Just perfect!"

Enticed by the inviting smell, Charlotte couldn’t help but swallow, her stomach embarrassingly growled.

"Lord Heir of the Apocalypse, please!"

Hafdan filled two bowls with soup, handing one to Charlotte.

Taking the soup, Charlotte felt increasingly hungry. Seeing Hafdan already enjoying his meal, she hesitated for a moment before carefully taking a sip.

However, after just one taste, her eyes sharpened instantly.

Although it was very faint, upon the soup reaching her mouth, she felt an energy identical to the life force in the enchanted bow and arrows!

There was no mistake, this was meat from an extraordinary creature!

"Lord Hafdan, this meat in the soup... what kind of meat is it?"

Charlotte couldn’t help but ask.

"It is Wild Beasts’ meat, of course. That’s what we have to eat out here, but don’t worry, I’m a professional. I’ve removed all its toxins."

Hafdan explained.

Wild Beasts?

A notion flickered in Charlotte’s mind.

She... might have found a way to restore her strength.
