Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel
Chapter 333: -89- Crossing a Thousand Years

Chapter 333: -89- Crossing a Thousand Years

The bitter wind howled relentlessly, darkening the sky outside the window, where rolling clouds mimicked an ocean in the midst of a storm, surging like the tides.

Enshrouded in black beast hides, Charlotte sat before the campfire, cradling a wooden cup brimming with hot water, listening as Halfdan introduced everything about this country.

This place was the northern part of the Mireya Continent, in a realm known as the Tower Country.

The rulers of this realm were beings revered as Apocalypse, possessing divinity-like beauty and power that transcended the mortal realm, arriving here from the distant Divine Grace Kingdom during the terrifying and chaotic era of the Fallen Gods.

In tales passed down by elders in the Northern Border, the Apocalypse were heralded as saviors who descended upon Mireya.

They vanquished the malevolent Old Gods, erected the Tower amidst the wilderness, enlightened civilization, and brought rebirth to the northern folk struggling amidst snow and wind.

Since the erection of the Central Tower to the present day, the Apocalypse had ruled the Northern Border for over four hundred years, and the day when the Chosen One defeated the Old Gods and established the Tower was proclaimed by the northern folk as the Origin Year of Apocalypse.

The Origin Year of Apocalypse marked the beginning of the Era of Apocalypse, and the Apocalypse themselves were the symbols of authority and sanctity in the Tower Country!

Charlotte listened quietly to Halfdan’s account of the history of the Tower Country.

In the hunter’s eyes, all she saw was admiration and awe for the Apocalypse.

Especially when referring to the mythical power mastered by the Apocalypse, the fear and longing for "Mythical Power" were almost too evident to conceal.

"Mr. Halfdan, you... seem to hold the Apocalypse in high regard? You said I resemble them? Can we discuss this in detail?" Charlotte asked, keeping her composure.

Halfdan nodded and said,

"Oh, of course. The Apocalypse and we northerners do look alike, but their skin is even more delicate and smooth, like flowing milk; they hardly age, never die, and their lifespans far exceed us mere mortals. And the divine power they wield can easily defeat all Wild Beasts..."

"Without them, the Northern Land would probably still be ravaged by savage beasts, and without them, who knows how many northerners would have perished under the icy storms of the Old Gods and the claws of the savage beasts..."

"Oh, right, the most conspicuous symbol of the Apocalypse is their pointed ears; legend has it that they are proof of being the descendants of the great and only True God—Moon Goddess Artemis, the Divine Ears symbolizing nobility and Divine Grace!"

"Pfft..."

Hearing this, Charlotte, who was about to sip her hot water, sprayed it out.

"Cough cough cough... cough cough cough..."

She coughed violently, her gaze at Halfdan becoming somewhat strange:

"Pointed ears... as well as the Moon Goddess Artemis?"

"That’s right, did something come to mind?"

Halfdan asked.

Charlotte’s eyes flickered slightly as she asked, without betraying her thoughts,

"The Apocalypse you speak of, are they perhaps Elves?"

"Elves?"

Halfdan was taken aback, his face full of confusion.

"No, never mind."

Charlotte shook her head.

However, her heart was anything but the calm she appeared to be...

The Moon Goddess Artemis!

This deity was not unfamiliar to Charlotte, who, over the course of the year after her crossing, had studied many texts from Mireya and knew that the traditional deity worshipped by the Elf Clan was the Moon God Artemis!

Combining what Halfdan had said about the history of the Tower Country with her own year’s worth of extensive reading on the various histories of the continent, Charlotte suddenly had an utterly absurd conjecture:

Could it be that she had woken up from her slumber and crossed over to thousands of years ago?

This preposterous speculation was not without reason.

Although historical materials handed down among the various races and churches of the Mireya Continent often differed and contained obvious embellishments and conflicting accounts regarding their respective deities, still some specific periods in history were universally acknowledged by all races.

The most mainstream historians of the Mireya Continent believed that its history began with the appearance of elves and could be roughly divided into the "Elf Era," "Mythological Era," "Blood Moon Era," and "Holy Era."

In the most ancient Elf Era, the Elf Clan came to the new continent from the Old Continent for unknown reasons and named the new land Mireya.

In the Elven language, it meant "New World."

They established a splendid Elven civilization and directly induced the awakening of the Old Gods slumbering all over Mireya, leading to the onset of the Mythological Era.

During the Mythological Era, elves waged war with the Old Gods, and within this war, new gods ascended to divine positions...

In the end, the brilliant Elven culture declined due to the war, and the rising new gods fought an anarchic God War that lasted for hundreds of years...

To achieve victory in this war, the deities shared their power with mortals, and from that point onward... Transcendents began to appear.

Eventually, the Moon Goddess Artemis who led the elves to Mireya, the Bloodline Ancestor known as the Eternal Night King, and the Sea King Oceanus achieved final victory, gaining dominion over the other gods.

Although victorious, the Moon Goddess Artemis was disheartened by the decline of the Elf Clan and chose to retreat from the world.

The Bloodline Ancestor, the Eternal Night King, and the Sea King Oceanus each took control of Mireya’s land and oceans respectively.

The sea was home to the Leviathan Demon Monsters, ruling over it meant being far from civilization, while the continent was truly the center of the world.

With the rule over the land established, the Bloodline emerged, leading to the near-millennium span of the Blood Moon Era in Mireya.

What followed were the disappearance of the Bloodline Ancestor, the infighting amongst the Bloodline gods, and the awakening and rise of the Creator Divine Lord Haral, as well as the Holy War that persisted for a thousand years...

The ancient Creator Divine Lord resurged with formidable power, completely suppressing all foes and unifying the entire continent.

The gods retreated, and under the leadership of the Holy Royal Court, Mireya ushered in an era ruled by humans.

Until today...

Such historical records were extremely rare and ancient.

Even Charlotte had only managed to gather them from various sources thanks to the foundation of the Castel family and the efforts of Sebastian.

Charlotte could not guarantee the accuracy of all these histories, but at least... they were the ones most widely acknowledged by mainstream scholars of Mireya as being closest to the truth.

Since the Elf Clan set foot on Mireya three thousand years ago, this place had given birth to countless myths and also witnessed the fall of many; civilizations rose and fell, and each cycle marked the eternal burial of a piece of history. Sometimes, even the gods might have difficulty discerning fact from truth...

And now, combining all of Halfdan’s stories, Charlotte had a bold and wild guess in her heart:

Could it be that she had awoken and crossed over to soon after the Elf Clan stepped onto Mireya, during the tangled period between the Elf Era and the Mythological Era, two to three thousand years back in history?!
