Chapter 170: The happiest man you know
Chapter 170: The happiest man you know
Andrew had a pep in his step as he made his way into the office. They had arrived a little bit earlier today to drop off the lunches Andrew was carrying in Maxwell’s office fridge, and then he was going to head down to work.
He was all smiles as he moved through the lobby, while Maxwell, next to him, appeared pissed.
Andrew knew that wasn’t the case. The poor guy was still recovering from their sundae play last night. Andrew was still floating from the whole experience.
Maxwell had been so cute. He’d wiggled and squirmed, trying to get away from Andrew’s attention on him, but had given up at some point and let Andrew play. They’d tested all of the toppings, even ice cream. Maxwell was probably still cold from how long he’d been pressed against the cold countertops.
"You seem happy." Maxwell grumbled and Andrew turned his smile towards him, pushing up his glasses when they slipped.
"Of course I am! I had a wonderful dessert yesterday. It was incredibly delicious. I especially enjoyed the cherries." Maxwell’s ears turned pink as he coughed.
"Of course you would." He muttered, embarrassed. Andrew chuckled, enjoying the shy version of Maxwell who was beside him. He leaned in, a teasing smile on his lips.
"You seemed to really like the cherries too." Andrew told him, glancing down at Maxwell’s body. Maxwell coughed, covering his mouth. Maxwell had especially liked it when Andrew had poured the sticky liquid around his cock and sucked on him like his favourite treat.
He did not like it when Andrew called him his favourite banana.
Andrew still thought he was cute though.
"Dr. Nice." Maxwell warned, his ears burning. "Watch yourself." He warned, glancing over at him as Andrew grinned at him. He was cute when he was trying to be normal, but Andrew also didn’t want to ruin his standing with his people, so he was going to stop. He could be a good boy.
He was very well fed yesterday.
"Alright, Mr. Beckett." Andrew said smugly, and Maxwell narrowed his eyes at him. Andrew couldn’t wipe the smile off his face, even as they stepped into the elevator to go up to his office. Andrew was still smiling as others got in, staring in shock at the duo.
When they got out at Maxwell’s level, Andrew followed after him. Mr. Newman had just arrived, and appeared to be taking off his jacket at his desk. He glanced up at as they approached, doing a double take when he saw Andrew.
"Mr. Newman! I brought along leftovers and the snacks I promised." Andrew called, and Mr. Newman’s face lit up. He shoved his jacket onto his chair and rushed over, much to the surprise of the other assistants. Maxwell was doing his best not to pout, Andrew could tell, as Mr. Newman grabbed the offered bag with both hands.
"You are a gift unto this earth, Dr. Nice. I cannot thank you enough." Mr. Newman’s praise was a bit excessive, to the point where one of the other assistant’s worked up enough courage to approach.
"You sing his praises, Mr. Newman. That’s quite rare. Is uh, Dr. Nice that great of a chef?" Andrew laughed, scratching his neck nervously as he did so.
"Oh, I think they’re blowing it out of the water, but I appreciate their compliments." Her eyes bulged.
"They?" She asked and Andrew nodded.
"Yes. Mr. Newman, Max, and my Doctor are just a bit too kind with their praise." Maxwell huffed.
"You just can’t accept a compliment, Andrew. It’s different." Mr. Newman nodded at Maxwell’s words.
"I agree with Mr. Beckett. I would rate a store that sold your baking with five stars. I don’t do that." Mr. Newman said and Andrew laughed again.
"Well, I think you’re just-"
"You shouldn’t doubt Mr. Newman’s palate, Andy." Maxwell cut him off, and Andrew felt his eyes widen. Mr. Newman’s cheeks began to flush as Maxwell seemed to be winding up to something. "After all, Mr. Newman originally comes from a family of high class chefs and business owners, isn’t that right, Mr. Newman?" Mr. Newman was flustered, but still nodded.
"Mr. Beckett is correct. I don’t have the same skills as the rest of my family, so I decided to go in a different direction." Andrew felt his face go white.
"Oh god. Have I been feeding you drivel?" Andrew asked, horrified, and Mr. Newman’s eyes went wide while Maxwell started laughing.
"N-No! I already said that I liked your food, Dr. Nice! Gosh. This is one of the reasons that I don’t like talking about my family. I can’t tell a salad knife from a chef knife, alright?" His cheeks were flushed adorably, and Andrew blinked.
"I’m sorry, I just...I was self taught and then taught by a neighbour so I just...I’m a little self conscious. I’m only really good at home cooking kind of stuff." Mr. Newman nodded.
"And I love that style of cooking. Trust me, I wouldn’t have jumped at the chance of having your leftovers if that wasn’t the case." Mr. Newman told him and Maxwell chuckled.
"Well, make sure to get that into a fridge soon, Mr. Newman. Andy, follow me." Andrew dutifully followed after Maxwell, smiling and nodding to the team that was taking care of his partner at work. The team nodded back, smiles tucked behind their hands and Andrew smiled in return.
As soon as the door was closed behind them, Maxwell began pulling off all of his outerwear. He did so while leading Andrew towards a hidden fridge, and left Andrew to tuck away their lunches while he hung up his clothes. Andrew smiled, crouching down and tucking the bag he’d carried their food in beside the fridge and away from sight.
When Andrew turned around, Maxwell was standing over him, his arms crossed and his face all business.
"Yes, Maxy?" Andrew asked, aware that he wanted something.
"Give me a kiss before you go to work. Everyday." He stated firmly and Andrew melted.
"You didn’t even need to ask. I was ready to beg to let my lips touch yours every morning." Maxwell’s lip twitched as Andrew stood at his full height again. He bent, pressing his lips against Maxwell’s in a soft, light peck and felt the man tense when Andrew pulled away without deepening the kiss.
He expected the fingers on his neck, slightly cold from their brief walk outside, and the way he was yanked down to Maxwell’s lips and the kiss deepened. Andrew laughed into the kiss, enjoying the way that Maxwell desired him openly, and endlessly.
He pulled away when Maxwell finally loosened his grip, licking his lips to get the last taste of Maxwell on his lips. He was sure his face was warm as he looked over his partner.
"Maxy, you’re pitching a tent." Andrew teased and Maxwell narrowed his eyes.
"And someone won’t sneak away to a closet with me." Maxwell protested and Andrew laughed.
"It’s too early in the morning for that. I thought you came enough last night?" Andrew teased, remembering that Maxwell had nearly broken the record he’d set for himself during his heat. Not quite, but he’d gotten close.
Maxwell’s whole face turned red at the reminder, before he yanked Andrew closer, his eyes alight from within.
"The next time you try to go and have dessert on your own, you’re a dead man. I wanted to taste you too." Maxwell growled and Andrew smirked at him.
"But it was my first day back to work. You said I could celebrate." Andrew told him and Maxwell narrowed his eyes. "How about, the next big deal you sign you get to have a sundae day too, hmm? Does that sound fair?" Andrew offered and Maxwell sighed heavily.
"I’m always signing big deals, Dr. Nice. You’re going to be devoured if we go with that rule." Andrew loved how he didn’t even sound cocky, he was just stating facts.
"Hmm, what’s a cap you don’t normally reach? Should we aim for that number? Or we could save it for special occasions? Like Valentine’s Day or something like that?" Andrew offered and Maxwell grumbled.
"That’s too infrequent. I’ll think of something. I’ll look at our average contracts, and go from there. You better make more of those damn cherries. I’m going to swallow you whole." Maxwell ran his gaze over Andrew’s body, and Andrew shivered.
"Max. We’re at work, and I haven’t even gone to my office yet. Don’t make me embarrass myself in front of my new colleagues." Andrew whispered and Maxwell grumbled.
"Then stop bringing up things that are only going to get me worked up. You better get out of here before I ignore the fact that I have a meeting in 10 minutes and I ride you instead." Blushing, Andrew nodded, kissing Maxwell on the cheek and heading for the door. His heart was full as he opened the door and looked back at Maxwell.
He was already settling down at his desk, turning his attention towards the papers that needed his attention today.
"Love you, Maxy." Andrew called and Maxwell looked up. His expression softened.
"Get to work, Baby." He warned and Andrew grinned. Andrew took the shocked, but happy expressions from his assistants in stride, waving goodbye to them as he headed down to his own office.
Today was going to be a good day. Hopefully, so was the rest of the week as well.
