Black Sail
Chapter 98: XCVIII. Chaotic Scene

Chapter 98: XCVIII. Chaotic Scene

Fen found a table and got down to the work of archiving information and also managing the accounts.

But Liszt was really too noisy, constantly blabbering on the side, and Fen had no choice but to take off his glasses and pinch the bridge of his nose.

"Do you still remember what I told you at the adventurer’s guild in Londen City?"

Fen quickly finished writing a few words at last, completed his work, organized the archives, and set them aside for later placement on the ship.

Whether they had made a mess of things at New Heavenly Port or not, business still had to be conducted aboard the SS Fuma Keqing Revenge.

This ship was the foundation of Black Sail, the last resort in desperate times, and Fen would certainly not allow such a situation to occur.

Ox was guzzling liquor at the bar. He wasn’t drinking for the alcohol but merely hydrating; his capacity was bottomless, no one could outdrink him.

"What thing, it’s been so long, who could remember?"

Liszt casually glanced out the window, huh? Immediately he propped his hands on the window sill, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead. He had told her not to come and make a scene, he had important things to do, but the mad woman was coming with her umbrella.

It was an overcast day, without much sunlight; her holding an umbrella was totally sufficient.

"Er... I was just asking you, there’s no need to be so nervous, right?"

Fen also noticed something amiss, walked over to the window, and seemed to understand that Liszt today was dressed rather stylishly, apparently on good terms with someone back at his home.

But more than that, not only did Liszt have a long-term strategy, but he also had one.

"I told you at the time that the cargo trains were now in operation. Once their safety and practicality are widely acknowledged, they will definitely start trial operations of passenger trains. The first few batches trying them out will certainly be nobles. We can’t touch the first tier, they are beyond us, but we can rob the second and third tier trains when out in the wilderness, strip them of all valuables, and take passengers hostage. Since you’re going big, I’ll match you all the way. If you want to go up against the one in the castle, you need terrifying financial power. A mere ten thousand Golden Dragons is just passing the mark, we must strike while the iron is hot. This is our biggest haul, it will definitely make Black Sail famous... Tsk, are you even listening?"

Fen said a lot, but it seemed Liszt wasn’t paying attention at all.

"Hey, it’s just robbing the rich, doing a Wild West Outlaw thing. I’ll join you for Green Blood Gold Sand, Guan Mountain Crossing, Earth-Shaking Thunder. And we’ll also show those illiterate folks who’ve never seen the world the sights of the Aran International Metropolis."

Liszt’s attention was all focused on the crazy woman who was coming, never knowing what kind of madness she might unleash.

Suddenly Liszt seemed to remember something.

Dreya had mentioned something yesterday; she knew that Liszt’s ship was carrying two women. Screwed, completely screwed!

"The sights of the metropolis, watching those would be the death of us pirates, so chic."

Morison said with a smile that failed to hide his sarcasm.

"I’m serious," Fen added. "It’s best if we start preparing immediately after we’re done here. It will take quite some time to get to Aran."

Fen knew full well that the money he had on hand was nowhere near enough to go against the person in the castle. Even if this grand heist failed, there was still a way out. As a former member of the Magic Energy Industrial Committee, with connections to the strongmen of the Western Continent black market, he dared to accept those two gemstones.

"The strategy of General Fen is bound to be clever."

The figure outside the window had already entered the building. Liszt had to think of a way to bluff his way through, to avoid the woman’s frenzy.

On the first floor of the inn.

The person Liszt referred to as Old Wei was still leisurely wiping glasses, with a pleasant demeanor, his blue eyes like the old man and the sea described, happy and unyielding.

"Liszt is definitely here this time, right?"

Dreya put away her umbrella, also dressed up a bit. After all, she was going out and couldn’t embarrass her husband: a white chiffon dress cut perfectly to fit, a brown buckle belt accentuating her long legs, a pair of black high-top lace-up boots, and a stylish faux flower adorned sunhat.

"He’s indeed here, on the second floor."

The middle-aged man with white hair betrayed Liszt without hesitation.

The regulars in the first-floor tavern turned to look at Dreya, all struck by her stunning appearance, but having seen her drink here many times, they knew she was a mad woman.

There were many gods living far from the centers of power on the island. This woman was one of them.

"Thank you kindly."

Dreya shamelessly gave Old Wei a WINK as a young girl might, performing an action unbefitting her age.

The middle-aged man let out an awkward laugh. It would be wonderful to have such vigor at his age, but by then he would probably be many years under the ground.

Dreya ran up to the second floor.

"Hmm?"

Mika had already slipped away, running to sleep in the guest room, followed closely by Archer.

Swan was confused and quickly followed to ask Mika softly what was going on and who the woman was.

"Stop nagging, just go."

Mika was afraid he would be the one dead soon.

Swan was still in a fog but stayed put, seeing that Fen didn’t move.

"It seems your little brother on the ship is quite afraid of me."

Dreya chuckled lightly, walking elegantly towards them, she set down her bag and sat in the seat nearest to Liszt.

"Weren’t you told not to come? Aren’t you afraid of getting hacked to death? If you die, I won’t be the one to collect your corpse."

Liszt was speechless and sat down to light a cigarette and began smoking.

"Who is this?"

Claude couldn’t comprehend the situation, as it was hard for him to imagine someone as elegant as this lady in a wretched place like Heaven Port.

"You’re the new key member, right? Quite impressive."

Dreya examined Claude up and down like prey, giving Liszt’s eyes a hand.

Claude felt very uneasy being stared at.

"Uh... trained, strong, I’m the ship captain’s original wife."

Dreya said casually, of course, she wasn’t just visiting for nothing; she was here to inspect, to see if Liszt had been cheating on her.

Claude’s worldview shattered.

How could Liszt, such a desperado and a thief without a title, have such a wife? It was inconceivable.

"Original wife? We’re just in a fake marriage, to get through life together. In times of great peril, we fend for ourselves. If I were to die in the streets one day, there’d be you, the widow."

Liszt didn’t want Dreya to meddle in the matters of Black Sail; you may be formidable and cunning, but these matters are not for women to meddle in.

Some ships did take women pirates, but that wasn’t his business.

Claude was speechless, what was all this? And Liszt didn’t seem pleased.

"You say it and it’s settled. I heard... you have women here."

Dreya suddenly declared.

Ox, who was drinking, almost choked, and he and Morison promptly retreated to sleep in their guest rooms.

Swan saw that Fen hadn’t moved but was also unsure, should he leave or not?

"What are you planning to do?"

Liszt realized that something serious was afoot; this mad woman was about to go looking for Goria and Dragon Lady.

"Nothing, just getting to know new friends."

Dreya feigned innocence.

Fen wasn’t afraid of escalating the issue; he had suffered enough under Liszt and had to assert himself.

"Get to know, of course we should. I will go and bring down Miss Goria for the lady. As for the other, it’s somewhat inconvenient, but since they are as close as sisters, having one will suffice."

Fen spoke calmly.

"Is that so? Then I’ll trouble this high-achiever brother."

Dreya said, looking meaningfully at Liszt, her smile radiating.

Liszt was infuriated; General Fen was looking to rebel.
