Chapter 345: CCCXLV. Gathering of Clouds

The violent collision caused the exaggeratedly large ship to crash ashore, disregarding shallows. The slight bending of the steel and the sound of the earth collapsing were enough to deafen anyone.

Those aboard were thrown about haphazardly. Mo Yutong and Izumi were flung aside, while other crew members, some banging against the steel parts of the deck, suffered from head injuries and were knocked unconscious.

Fen also gripped the handle tightly to prevent being thrown off.

But this was far from over.

Amidst loud hissing sounds of steam, corrosive and extremely toxic gas filled the deck. Dark purple smoke belched from small, unnoticed vents.

The crew members enveloped by the toxic smoke, despite holding their breaths, had their eyes instantly filled with blood vessels due to corrosive damage—spreading throughout their bodies. Their veins bulged in purple welts, and they convulsed weakly, collapsing to the ground as the violent toxins made them foam at the mouth.

Doringger had surely anticipated the possibility of the ship being seized. Having spent astronomical sums on its construction, how could there not be foolproof measures?

Izumi quickly helped Mo Yutong up. Having escaped a cult and trained in some fighting skills, her physical condition was much better.

"Are you okay?"

As Izumi supported Mo Yutong, Mo Yutong’s leg, which had been struck by a sharp object during the tumultuous bumps, had a deep cut. However, the Demon Spider residing inside her body spun silk that visibly mended the wound.

"I’m okay... We must leave immediately."

Mo Yutong gazed at the encroaching poison smoke. Already, many had met their untimely deaths, including many of Doringger’s skilled workers.

Not all crew members were Fen’s loyal fighters. Seeing the perilous situation, they couldn’t care less and jumped into the sea.

Izumi looked out from the railing. The towering height of the ship meant that even jumping into the water would feel as hard as hitting concrete.

The ship was completely out of control, and Fen had no means to steer it.

"You two follow me, let’s stop Doringger."

Fen observed the chaotic scenes below, uncertain of what Doringger might use the ship for or any unknown methods of attack, but it was crucial to stop him from approaching.

The coast.

At Twelfth Group’s front line.

With the huge waves hitting, there was no artillery support on the shore, and Doringger’s armored personal guard swarmed forward.

Engaging in close combat with all the Merfolk.

Ox swung his Special Large Sword in a deadly dance—bisecting, beheading, and dismembering enemies.

Ernie, a Mirror Sea Swordsman, wielded a Soft Sword called "Water-Repelling." Extremely flexible, it changed shape like willow branches. When it struck, it wasn’t the blade but the whipping action that opened a clean, mirror-like slash on an enemy’s body that only spilled blood once the torso tilted and fell.

With a horizontal sweep, the sharp Sword Intent burst out circularly. Nearby armored soldiers screamed before they could realize they had been sliced open, some not even knowing they were dead as they collapsed due to inertia from only the torso upward.

Among these guards, there weren’t only half-soldiers.

There was also a battalion belonging to a black market bigwig from the island and three experts who had freeloaded under Doringger for years, treated with the highest protocol.

"What is that thing?"

"I’ve heard of it—it’s a Druid!"

"A Shapeshifter! It’s a Shapeshifter!"

The Merfolk gathered by Ox were frightened by a monster that was taller than the trees—a massive bear covered with bristled fur. It slapped trees apart and pulled one out by its roots to use as a weapon, charging towards the shore.

Even though these Merfolk hailed from Dead Man Bay and were brave souls, some lost their will to fight. How were they supposed to defeat such a monster?

Ernie prepared to cut down the so-called Druid, but his path was blocked by a female swordsman dressed in Far East Islands style—a blue and green kimono with wave carp designs tied at her waist, the upper body wrapped in bandages, with white hair and chewing on a straw stalk.

"Your opponent is me."

Chiyoda had an extremely long tachi strapped diagonally behind her back, even taller than herself. She had found this sword in the Nameless Tomb, which was not meant for human use, being over two meters long. She had used it to hang clothes for many years, but now it seemed to have some use.

She was from the Far East Islands. Although both the Western Continent and the Far East Islands were far from Mirror Sea, the latter was comparatively closer.

The Merfolk pirates had always been a problem for the Far East Islands.

Chiyoda herself particularly detested these aquatic races.

Such a long sword could not be drawn by normal means. Holding the scabbard at an angle, Chiyoda flicked the hilt with her thumb; the clothes-hanging sword slid out of its sheath, its blade gleaming as it leaped into the air and was grasped in her hand.

"Is that so? I’ll cut down this shameless creature," Ernie said calmly, as Chiyoda, only in bandages around her chest, appeared as if she had walked out wearing only a bra.

The Water-Repelling Sword, fluid as liquid, shifted rapidly, twisting into a spiral, creating grooves in the ground with the force of the wind, and finally converging into a blast that pierced toward Chiyoda.

Chiyoda spat out the reed from her mouth and bellowed angrily, her fingers forming a claw as Qi burst forth from her palm, forcefully repelling the sword force.

Of course, she couldn’t wield this clothes-hanging long sword with her strength alone. Being extremely talented and having mastered Qigong to a transformative level, she firmly gripped the sword in her hand and charged toward Ernie.

"You at this level... I’ve already killed two," Ernie remarked. He had spent a long time on land, was not in his prime, and was in his later years, but he still had more than enough to handle such foes.

There was another one.

The sergeant from the Witch Hunting Secret Department had sought refuge here.

These people were all like madmen.

Having lived through an exceedingly dark and turbulent era, their aura was terrifying.

He had sought refuge here, away from the continent, escaping Aran’s pursuit for over ten years, holding a long spear and creating blossoms of flesh and blood wherever he went.

And in the forest, the shapeshifter bear, grasping a tree that required two people to embrace, charged forward, the ground trembling with his run.

Shadi and his companions relentlessly rushed back to support the rear lines.

And the most targeted, becoming the bulls-eye, was naturally the shapeshifter.

"Fuck, where is Doringger?"

Without another word, Chuan Che’s mind was filled with thoughts of New Heavenly Port, becoming a major shareholder, ruling as a local tyrant. He no longer wished to be an adventurer. Once Liszt died, he could easily skip away, seizing a few months of rule at least, as the East Sea was simply too chaotic.

Facing the largest shapeshifter, Chuan Che charged straight in.

The shapeshifter swung the massive tree toward Chuan Che.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

With hundreds of punches, the tree exploded into splinters, Chuan Che leapt onto the tree, took several quick steps uphill, and landed on the shapeshifter’s shoulder, unleashing a furious punch to its head.

In an instant, blood splattered. This eight-meter-tall monster staggered back several paces, dazed by the much smaller Chuan Che’s blows.

It wasn’t about having a remarkable gimmick; there were plenty of unknown strong ones throughout history. A man who had roamed heaven and earth 1,800 years ago hadn’t even left his name behind.

Seeing reinforcements arrive, Ox didn’t hesitate and charged toward the sergeant from the Witch Hunting Secret Department.

The matter of the secret port had never left his mind; over the past six months, he had never slacked off in his high-intensity anaerobic workouts. He could now venture deep into arid inland regions, breaking racial shackles.

This time, he wouldn’t be defeated again.

"Die!"

Dragging his Special Large Sword across the ground, Ox carved out terrifying trenches. With an upward strike, he aimed for the sergeant’s life.
