Chapter 342: CCCXLII. Foresee the Future

The castle was situated on a mountain platform at Heaven Port, which was already at a high altitude with confluent winds, causing the open square’s strong winds to stir ripples on the pool’s surface. And suddenly, the gunfire disrupted the rhythm of those ripples, turning them chaotic.

The sound of the gun ceased.

Morison furrowed his brows; he had missed his shot because Saleret had stood still, as if knowing Morison would shoot to the side.

The two were separated by the pool, its surface shimmering with golden light.

"This is your last warning."

Saleret’s blood-red Ghost Eye emitted a terrifying blood light even in the daytime.

"You really know how to act..."

Morison glanced towards Heaven Port. The scenery here was exceptionally beautiful with the widest view; the scorching sun allowed him to see the edges of the city, which had completely turned into a slaughter field, starkly red, filled with crowds roaring and howling. Even though it was faint, when there were thousands, or even tens of thousands, it echoed like the sound of Hell in the vast mountains, rolling even here, chilling to the core.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The double-barreled shotgun in Morison’s hands opened and closed like nunchucks, continuously loading and firing, chaotically shooting in his extremely flashy handling, pushing the weapon to its functional limits.

Dozens of deer bullet trajectories caused chaotic damage.

Saleret merely sidestepped and slightly walked diagonally, avoiding every bullet.

"Doringger entrusted such an important thing to you; you truly are extraordinary, the Ghost Eye Mad Blade, huh?"

"If you put it that way."

A round of Flying Knives, three blades bursting through the air, Arm Armor Crossbow Arrows firing in succession.

The red light of the Ghost Eye flashed, and the Crossbow Arrows seemed to freeze in mid-air for a moment before dropping to the ground powerlessly.

Saleret clearly saw the trajectories of all three Flying Knives, his Iron Sword carved an arc, clanging sounds followed, and upon looking again, the Flying Knives were held in his hand. Demonstrating his considerable Qi, he swung his hand back and shot them towards Morison.

This was the first time Morison had been attacked by his own weapons. He leaped in the air, drew two Butterfly Knives, deflecting all the knives, his clothing hem fluttering, deploying the daggers like a peacock’s tail spreading out.

Saleret swung his Iron Sword at the water, mask holes flashing blood-light, forming an ice wall which was still shattered by the barrage of Flying Knives into icy fragments, significantly reducing their momentum. With one slice of his Iron Sword, the scattered Flying Knives were all deflected.

"Didn’t you use knives? Why switch to a sword now? Is this what a Hall-level adventurer is? I could level up every great god brother in the Western Continent."

While talking trash to tilt Saleret’s mindset, Morison handled the Butterfly Knives in both hands, slowly walking around the poolside, provoking him in this manner.

Saleret was unresponsive; with a click, a buzzing sound of metal reverberated, the Iron Sword split into two, forming Dual Blades. He mimicked Morison and quickly spun out a dizzying light from the blades, the brightly polished blades under the sunlight reflecting strong glares repeatedly, dazzling Morison’s eyes in response.

Below, within their field of view, the battle at the city edges had escalated. The main force and flanks, totaling over ten thousand men, fought to exhaustion, but these two seemed nonchalant, both highly on guard.

Morison abruptly halted his steps, and Saleret stopped as well, seemingly just mimicking Morison.

It was mid-spring.

The pool had no floating ice, but there were many parasols and sun loungers on the round platform, along with artificial rockeries.

"Do you guys often mess around on this platform?"

"I don’t understand what you mean."

"Damn it, you really should be dead."

Morison strode meteorically, moving swiftly over the round platform and rockeries, dodging quickly like a phantom, his many iron wares clanking sharply, instantly crossing the pool. With Butterfly Knives spinning rapidly like cutting machines, he aimed all his attacks at Saleret.

Swift as lightning, sparks like waterfalls.

Morison’s movements always seemed a bit slow, as if Saleret had anticipated all his offensive tactics. His dual blades moved so swiftly they seemed berserk, both arms blurring to the naked eye, leaving only lingering phantoms of the blades as they continuously flashed.

The poor-quality butterfly knives cracked and shattered in an instant, as one hand wielding the Wing Blade slashed diagonally at Saleret while a sharp dagger sprung from the sleeve, aiming directly at his eyes. Saleret blocked them separately, and Morison’s boots sprung out sharp daggers, inserting them directly into Saleret’s feet with a Scorpion Leg strike.

Incredibly skilled.

As the dual blades merged in mid-air, Saleret drew his sword scabbard to block the whip-like leg strike. The iron sword split into two, his hands furiously swinging three pieces of iron, dazzling to behold.

Morison stood with the Maple Forest on his back, using the combined Special Large Sword to block the frenzied assault, temporarily avoiding the brunt as his figure abruptly retreated.

Boom!

With tremendous force, a spinning kick sent a knife handle flying through the air. The power was terrifying, as the long sword flew through the whirlwind, splitting the pool water like lightning, powerfully piercing toward Morison.

Bang!

Morison, leaning to the side with Maple Forest, was pushed sideways a half-meter by this force, causing the long sword to be flung away.

Unbeknownst to him, Saleret had already sliced off the whip blade from Morison’s waist and held it in his hand, using the whip blade to pull back the flung long sword.

A flash of blood-red Ghost Eye, his movements too fast to see, just numerous bursts of blade light. Suddenly, the dual blades merged into one with a click, swiftly sheathed back into the scabbard.

In that moment of sheathing.

The wind force burst forth, devastating like the wails of Hell.

The pool’s surface turned completely chaotic, like numerous fish stirring it, and a fierce wind howled.

Morison used Maple Forest to parry the horrendous sword energy coming from all directions, as if clashing with an invisible force, the sound of clashing metal echoing continuously, until a piece of his crocodile-skin coat was cut and slowly fell to the floor.

"Not bad at all."

Morison tilted his head, looking toward the increasingly chaotic battlefield below Heaven Port. What’s going on? Had they breached the rear lines?

Though at a great distance, he could vaguely see the blurred crowd, the front lines of Ox Twelve Team on the docks were being assaulted.

Though the Magic Ship Cannons of the Sea God were aligned to the shore, whether due to an anomaly on the Sea God Deck or some other reason, Ox’s Twelve Team received no artillery support.

He had to immediately find the secret Doringger treasured and use it to threaten him.

The masked man in front of him was no ordinary expert and needed to be combated with full strength.

A massive buzzing noise spread out.

Maple Forest’s gears wound up on Morison’s Magic Crystal Armor, emitting sharp whistles and intense sparks. The entire weapon began vibrating at high frequency, immensely sharp.

Maple Forest could be disassembled into nine swords of different sizes, but Morison lacked Joshua’s Evil Power to control so many; he had only two hands.

Instead, he’d acquired special tough steel wire from Ben and had modified Maple Forest, threading it through the components like a tailor.

"It’s pointless. These eyes of mine can read all your movements. Between you and me, there’s a chasm that cannot be crossed. I am forever in a future you cannot predict."

Seeing Morison’s stance,

Saleret realized that he too must display his real skills.

"Can you read them now?"

Morison leapt onto a rockery, disassembling Maple Forest into nine scattered blades, connected by steel wires under his finger rings. Holding dual blades, the seven buzzing swords behind him, moving with his figure, wove into an inescapable Killing Formation.

No one could survive within it.
