Chapter 337: CCCXXXVII. Pincer Offensive

"The Sea God’s firepower unleashed a barrage that required a thousand Golden Dragons. Who would dare to fire recklessly?"

Seeing the enemy daring to strike first, Fen immediately ordered that all surrounding vessels be on high alert and had the gunners adjust their aim toward the shore, to protect the rear.

Even at his position in the nearshore Anchor Bay, Fen could hear the cries of killing shaking the heavens on the island, and the continuous sound of gunfire. It had been a while since he had seen such a spectacle.

Mo Yutong was sweating for Liszt. Essentially an Ivy League college student, could Liszt really handle such a terrifying scene?

Inner City main thoroughfare.

The Sub-dragon people’s Firearms Team fired in unison. However, the bullets from their flintlock guns, crafted with Magic Energy Materials, could not penetrate the armor of the vanguard Heavy Cavalry, leaving only shallow marks.

Bizarrely, Horace did not initiate a cavalry charge, even when a crushing trample would have been decisive. Instead, it was as if he were waiting for something.

The ground itself seemed to be rumbling and buzzing.

There were also the extreme and eerie cries of monsters, sharper and more piercing than a train whistle, torturing one’s eardrums.

The Doringger main force spread out on both sides.

While adjusting his troops, Mo’er had already fed his men a specially concocted Beast Pill, ensuring that the indiscriminately slaughtering monster chimera would not harm them.

"Fuck your mother!"

Wolman saw the surge of bizarre creatures at the end of the main thoroughfare’s line of sight. Twenty or thirty of them, five or six meters tall with multiple legs running wildly, easily flipping streetlights and uprooting them from the ground. These mindless monsters charging from directly ahead and from the sides, broke through building walls and emerged from between storefronts.

The Twelfth Legion split into three groups to counter the pincer movement.

Fen’s overall strategy was sound, but when it came to the details...

Don’t expect the Triad Gang to have any military decorum. They just swarm in and hack away.

Liszt’s flank troops unexpectedly didn’t encounter the attacking force but instead ran into the surging tide of monsters.

The chimera is not one species but a term for a combination of various Magic Beasts stitched together.

Every creature in the beast tide was unique, the only commonalities being intense ferocity and visible signs of stitching.

Mo’er’s Chimeras, roughly a hundred of them, were creatures that not even a Heroic Level adventurer could handle alone.

These strange conglomerates of stitched-together sea beasts and Magic Beasts were utterly bizarre, with beast feet, webbed feet, stitched faces, and chaotic horns, secreting black slime as they moved, leaving disgusting trails. Each one had a distinguishing feature, a gaping maw filled with serrated teeth capable of consuming two men whole, rampaging through the Inner City buildings, killing at sight, tearing apart with Magic Beast claws, or biting and swallowing prey whole.

Their speed is much faster than a human could run.

The members of the Seventh Amendment might not be fully acclimated, but they are Madmen with far higher military training and not afraid of anything. As part of the KB organization, they are equipped with superior weapons.

A few individuals were devoured by these creatures at first sight, greatly limiting the damage of their firearms and iron weapons.

Ban made a quick decision.

Facing such a situation, the best approach was to take cover in obstacles and slowly kill them with ranged attacks.

Ban ordered his men to take cover in safe locations. There were plenty of hiding places and cover among the many buildings of Heaven Port, and these monsters couldn’t climb.

Watching a chimera knock several people flying, hitting the walls and leaving spider-web cracks, Ban sprinted toward him.

His steps were quick and assertive as he dashed into a hotel. The chimera was momentarily blocked by the wall, and the agile Ban was already hiding on the third floor in a room.

"Let’s try the power of the Murder King!"

Ban lifted the weapon his uncle had given him, a six-barrel minigun, already revving up in preheat. He stood by the window, striking a cool pose with one hand on the windowsill and the other holding the minigun. He aimed at a target, freeing his subordinates tangled with a chimera.

Dada dada...

Two hundred rounds per minute was no joke; the rotating 14.7mm machine gun barrels spat deadly tongues of fire, and the bullet chains crossing Ban’s body were crazily pulled into the minigun.

A chimera fell under Ban’s barrage, riddled with dozens of rounds, turning its body into a sieve, oozing black liquid.

A member of the Seventh Amendment managed to break free.

But the monster was still able to stand up, letting out a ferocious roar; the display windows of the shops on both sides nearly shattered.

Ban took a deep breath, all this talk of a pitiful Murder King, in the end, it still came down to the old ways. He immediately used the compass communicator to pass orders to all his subordinates.

Inside the Seventh Amendment, remnants of the former government gathered, naturally including magicians. Hearing Ban’s command, they coordinated extremely well.

Archers hidden on high buildings released their arrows like thunderbolts piercing the air. Their arrows, tied with oil bottles, concentrated fire on the three Chimeras, turning them into pincushions. The oil bottles exploded on their already pitch-black bodies, which became even stickier. The magicians joined forces to cast magic, even the basic Fire Magic, Fireball Technique, dealt impressive damage at this moment.

Flame Missiles ignited the fuel on the bodies of the three Chimeras, bursting into flames in an instant, the intense heat causing them to scream.

Warriors of the Seventh Amendment also seized the gap, the great strength from the refined Combat Skills and Life Alchemy, they rushed forward, slicing up the creatures.

But it was far from over.

The enemy’s flank troops also arrived at this time, aiming for just this moment, using Chimeras to scatter their formation before picking them off one by one.

And these men were from the Peak Competition Pirate Group.

Just the Captain, like Captain Sky Peak, could even hold his own for quite a long time against Haywood, not to mention his core subordinates and the many elites he brought along.

The peak champion of a season in the East Sea was no joke, coupled with Chimeras charging at the front line.

Ban faced a formidable enemy.

It’s not easy to repay a big favor owed to an uncle.

"Bring out the spirit of defending the constitution!"

Ban drew his long sword, wiping it with his left hand. A pale blue, high-temperature flame attached itself to the blade. Killing these pirate scum and asking Liszt for an island as a base wasn’t too much, right?

"Die!"

Ban leaped into the air, jumping out of the window, with a six-barrel machine gun firing wildly, his face manic. His right hand swung the long sword with a seven-fold Sword Intent, with pale blue flames spreading, the intense heat cutting through metal as if it were mud, like a killing god.

The other flank troops didn’t have it easy either.

Their tactic was to use the Chimeras to break the formation, then slaughter wildly.

The Fifth Group, power from the Southern Wetlands, also faced such a situation.

Caught between two fires.

As a technician, Lu Chen naturally couldn’t join the battle.

The scar-faced woman and Hened stood on the same front. When they were in their prime, some thirty years ago, before the Emperor even took the throne, they had been a couple of thieves, fugitives throughout the land.

"Why didn’t you come to me when you were caught by the Admiral of Kersuna Island? Those type of officials just want money."

"That would have made me seem very foolish."

Hened had even learned to speak like Liszt.

"Really..."

The scar-faced woman was somewhat moved; she and Hened no longer belonged to this era, yet they didn’t expect there would be a day when they could fight side by side again.

The Southern Wetlands were filled with tough people; Hened, in particular, felt he was getting old and useless, ready to seek death.

Cutting people down wasn’t something to fear, even in his twilight years.

"Treat it like it’s the last day to kill."

"That’s indeed something you would say."

Facing the surging tide of beasts and the Pirate Gang that once stood at the pinnacle of East Sea piracy, the two were completely fearless, wanting the young people to see how the Triad Gang climbed up the ranks.

After this was over, Liszt’s merchandise would have to be transported through the Wetlands, the scar-faced woman demanded a share, not even two hundred Golden Dragons would suffice.
