Chapter 185: CLXXXV. Reunion
Chapter 185: CLXXXV. Reunion
Inside the sixth carriage from the front.
The partition walls of the private room were entirely smashed by Weber wielding a Warhammer; the floor was covered in severed limbs and a mix of red and white matter splattered from brains.
"How come I remember this as Aran soldiers’ uniforms?"
Weber’s wounds on his back had not yet healed.
Nevertheless, adhering to the principle of making full use of everything, it was necessary to drag him to see some blood.
Although he wasn’t at his peak, this man with monster power swinging a twenty-pound Iron Hammer still had an extremely terrifying lethality.
His battle strategy was to brazenly rush in wearing Super Heavy Armor, but since the armor was damaged, he was currently wearing light Leather Armor and suddenly felt relieved of a heavy burden. Shedding the weight of at least three hundred pounds from iron anvil and iron armor, his speed was extremely fast.
After dealing with the Security Guard in this carriage with Swan, they realized something was amiss. Weren’t they still in Aran?
"There’s no turning back now, Weber. You are now a most-wanted criminal with heinous crimes."
Swan pinched his cheek and blew a loud whistle, signaling five or six pirates to climb into the carriage through the window.
"Ah?"
Weber was somewhat disheveled but then became indifferent. What’s done was done, damn it all.
Aran territory was quite safe.
Some nobles had brought bodyguards, while others scorned the need, bringing only servants. After all, it was a key industry under the Alan Royal Court. Who could have expected such a problem to arise?
There were no Guests in this carriage, making the resolution easy.
All the exposed nobles in the compartments turned ashen, scared half to death by the bloody scene.
Many of the civil nobles within the Alan Royal Court were from the War Merit Faction at the founding of the country.
But as the years passed, they had moved to secondary positions, their titles passed on to their descendants. These Lords couldn’t compare with military nobles. They hadn’t killed a single fish, let alone a person; when had they ever witnessed such a scene?
One of the nobles sat on the sofa, stunned into catatonic rigidity, with two trembling maids in tattered, snowy garments beside him.
All the partition boards had been smashed by Weber, laying bare the interior for all to see.
Swan directed the pirates to come up and take control of the nobles, using them as hostages directly. If any other enemies barged into this carriage, they would threaten with lives.
The work of plundering valuables would be the last to be addressed, only after completely removing resistance forces.
Then he took Weber to support the other carriages.
In the third carriage where the crew was located.
The fair-skinned man and his girlfriend were both regular Earth people who feared death extremely and desired security and a high-quality life. That’s why they came to work for Mu Ran, even if it meant they had to hunt down a former classmate.
Mu Ran was particular about choosing assistants, precisely because he valued the character traits of this couple, not fearing their betrayal.
William was weak and somewhat despicable, but not cruel, making him an excellent tool to use.
The reasons involving Mo Yutong were a bit more complicated.
From the rear carriages, women’s screams, gunfire, and sounds of clashing steel painted a harrowing picture of Hell that surged forth just by listening.
Regardless of how strong one’s logical thinking capabilities were, maintaining healthy logical reasoning under intense pressure was of utmost importance.
Currently, this couple had lost their backbone, and Mu Ran was not around; they hurriedly inquired Mo Yutong.
"What do we do now?"
The woman with golden wavy curls was somewhat panicked, looking outside the window at only the horse bandits’ mounts, assuming all of them had already boarded the train.
After a brief moment of thought, Mo Yutong made a judgment. This was the third train and many nobles were aboard. They chose this train because they didn’t dare to mess with the group that had the most power.
These horse bandits had rational minds.
"We go to the front of the train to find Mu Ran. Let him activate the emergency Battle Magic Dolls. Don’t try to escape. If robbers come, as long as you don’t resist, they likely won’t kill anyone."
If all the nobles on the train were killed, it would be one of the most major incidents since the founding of New Aran, aside from war. The consequences would be extremely severe and the matter couldn’t be covered up.
But if it’s just rob robbery, while not to say it isn’t major, after weighing the pros and cons, they might seal the news and suffer in silence, because the impacts on the transportation industry’s future development and on national image were far-reaching.
The couple nodded.
Yet their legs seemed rooted to the ground, they dared not move an inch.
Mo Yutong’s eyelids twitched, feeling an unbearable sense of revulsion and disgust.
But she took a deep breath, gathered her courage to stand up, and left the compartment to enter the corridor of the third carriage.
The technicians maintaining the train’s operation had been selected and trained by Mu Ran from universities; these students’ families had enough money to afford the high tuition fees to secure a place in the court.
Had they ever seen such a spectacle?
More than ten crew members, lips devoid of color, trembling, were holding tools that could hardly be called weapons, just crowbars and hammers, staring intently at the door, fearing someone might break in.
Mo Yutong didn’t hesitate and headed straight for the locomotive.
At that moment, the unexpected happened.
Snap! Snap!
Two extremely precise slashes, like lightning in the night, their arcs of light cold and sharp, instantly sliced through the compartment door.
Claude had already arrived.
The university students screamed and chopped at him with the tools in their hands.
Liszt had reason to have Claude follow Fen; Claude was a man of integrity, too soft-hearted to engage in dirty work. Though he could handle killing pirates, making him do such dirty work, despite having already pledged his "Oath of Loyalty," would still cause him to harbor resentment over time.
Claude was stunned; these weren’t security guards with a warrior’s resolve but rather somewhat green faces, probably fresh out of university, perhaps still students.
"Claude, in this world... no one is innocent."
The sound of thundering wind came.
Wind elements surged in Fen’s palm, nothing like the level exhibited by Lu, as two sharp wind arcs passed by, exploding with noise.
They directly severed the arms of two crew members, one of whom even had half of his shoulder shaved off, blood plasma gushing out, their weapons falling to the floor.
The remaining crew members were paralyzed with fear, tears streaming down in terror, their will to fight completely gone.
Everyone wore masks, and the trio, including Fen, was no exception, adding an unknown ferocity.
Mo Yutong hadn’t yet managed to open the door and was leaning against the corridor door; having spent some time in a cult, she had a rather strong mental fortitude.
Claude pushed past the two men who were blocking the way; if they weren’t treated promptly, they would bleed to death.
The trio reached the end of the carriage.
Mo Yutong obediently made way, not daring to block them, knowing they were headed to take control of the locomotive.
"Sister..."
Izumi couldn’t believe her eyes as she saw Mo Yutong; it was too coincidental to meet in such a place, and she removed her mask to give Mo Yutong a glimpse.
"Is it you?"
Mo Yutong’s eyes trembled, and she was reminded of those incredibly painful memories.
Fen frowned; this woman... also carried the aura of the "Miracle of Suffering." Immediately, a Wind Blade scraped across Mo Yutong’s arm, fiercely sharp.
With a snap, the cloth on her arm was cut, exposing her white skin which burst open, a horrifying wound two fingers wide and deep into the muscle appeared.
Mo Yutong’s left arm drooped, now disabled.
Claude couldn’t bear it; she hadn’t resisted, had she?
"What are you doing?"
Izumi’s tone was filled with anger; although she wasn’t close to Mo Yutong, she had been quite nice to her during that hellish time.
Just like what had happened with Izumi earlier, a Demon Spider residing within Mo Yutong moved to the arm and spun silk; in no time, the wound was completely healed.
"Claude, take her with us."
Fen ordered in the tone of a First Officer.
Mo Yutong’s dress, a shoulder-slung strap gown, fell apart with Fen’s cut, revealing a purple bra.
Claude took off his coat to cover Mo Yutong, pretending to be harsh as he said, "Follow closely, or I’ll kill you."
Fen continued towards the locomotive, pushing open the door and arriving in the second carriage.
Here.
This was where the Mechanical Demon Puppets were stored.
