Chapter 166: [Blizzard Manor] - Prophet’s part (13)
Silvanus stared intently at the live broadcast room.
It was clear that the scene shown in the live broadcast completely contrasted what they were seeing in front of them.
Inside the live stream, he and Drake were present, along with others — notably, the room shown in the live broadcast looked completely different from the one before their eyes.
The room in front of them appeared modest but very tidy, with all basic amenities intact.
However, in the live broadcast, the room looked so old and worn that it was covered in dust. Mold and moss grew along the walls, and cobwebs didn’t just fill the cracks — they spread across the floor and onto the furniture. It looked utterly desolate, as though no one had visited it in a very long time.
Silvanus was certain — that was the proper form of the maid’s room.
[Hahaha, hang in there! If Drake and his group had entered those rooms a day later, they might’ve had a chance, hahaha!]
[Their contamination level isn’t high enough to see the room’s real form yet.]
[Maybe Bella and Fiona ate the wrong food but too little of it. Besides, they’re too strong, so the contamination wasn’t severe — they’re useless right now.]
[Drake and Saphen are even worse. They didn’t eat anything wrong at all.]
[This place is a nightmare for the strong, hahaha!]
[That said, being weak still means you die like usual...]
The comments kept flooding in — while none of them offered clear clues, they all implied that once someone saw the room’s proper form, they would be able to find a way out.
Coincidentally, the room before him was now appearing with absolute clarity.
"Bang! Bang!"
Just then, loud crashing sounds rang out, followed by a violent tremor shaking the ground. The group quickly steadied themselves.
Fiona frowned and raised her voice: "It’s the same on Captain Drake’s side. No difference at all. Maybe the fact that we can’t see each other isn’t the real problem!"
Luis said coldly, "The real form of this place hasn’t fully revealed itself to us yet!"
"Shlunk! Shlunk! Shlunk!"
At that moment, the small floor tiles suddenly shifted, transforming into a dense array of sharp spikes that sank just below the surface, ready to stab upward at any humans standing above them!
"Watch out!" Drake shouted. He dashed toward Saphen, but it was too late — a spike shot out from a nearby wall and pierced through Saphen’s small body!
Everything happened too quickly. Drake dodged the countless spikes emerging rapidly from the floor and the four surrounding walls as he ran.
No, he had to be faster — if Saphen stayed still, he would keep getting stabbed and injured!
But Saphen’s current wound was already severe — and the spikes still appeared without pause!
"Whoosh! Bam bam bam!"
Drake’s blade flew forward, slicing apart the sharp spikes about to pierce Saphen again.
His body moved like a panther — he grabbed Stephen and leaped into the air, heading for the bed, the one place the spikes hadn’t yet overrun.
Drake appeared calm and cold, but his trembling hands and the way he avoided looking directly at Saphen revealed that he wasn’t nearly as composed as he seemed.
There was so much blood — too much. The stab wound on Saphen’s body was dangerously close to his heart. Just a slight shift in angle and the boy’s heart would have been pierced, killing him instantly.
Just imagining that possibility drove Drake into utter terror and agony.
No — he had come to this place to protect the Prophet. He couldn’t let him die like this!
"There has to be a way!" Drake practically roared.
[Damn it, I was getting ready to say goodbye to my sweet baby.]
[Hahaha, the strong always get targeted, but the weak don’t even have a chance to fight back.]
[Does no one notice how weird this is? Even Harry hasn’t been attacked yet, but Saphen’s already been hit?]
[Stop dreaming.]
Just then, Drake suddenly felt a small hand grip his. He immediately looked down at Saphen, panic in his eyes.
Saphen’s golden eyes were clouded with pain, silent tears streaming down his face. Blood still stained his lips, yet to be wiped away.
The boy lifted a trembling hand and pointed toward the bed.
Drake was momentarily confused, but he didn’t hesitate. He bolted toward the bed. As he ran, he swept his blade across the ground. His hand was now covered in hard, scaly armor.
At the same time, fire burst from his hand, instantly traveling down the blade to its tip.
Meanwhile, Bella cried out in pain and quickly dodged, but the black flame still latched onto the skin of her calf, burning relentlessly. The pain made Bella clench her brows tightly, her face drenched in cold sweat — but she didn’t try to extinguish the fire. She endured.
She realized this was Drake’s fire — he had awakened his dragon power!
Alice’s gentle energy immediately enveloped Bella, trying to heal her continuously, hoping she could hold on before Drake’s flame spread across her entire body. Fortunately, the flame faded after a few scorched letters appeared on the ground.
And then, on the floor, a charred message appeared:
"RUN TO THE BED!"
Fiona shouted, "Do it!"
Harry instantly ran forward and picked up Bella. The whole group surged ahead at full speed, dodging waves of spikes.
There was no hesitation — only absolute trust — as they charged toward the bed!
On Drake’s side, he swung his blade, forcefully shoving the large bed aside, then, following Saphen’s guidance, he drove his sword hard into the floor.
The ground shook violently — and at that moment, Drake felt it, too.
There was a hollow space near the tip of his sword — this was likely their way out!
No matter where it led, they had to escape because now even the walls were beginning to close in, threatening to kill them the same way they had killed Rowan!
If Drake had Silvanus’s perspective, he would have seen everything more clearly.
Right next to them was a door leading to an underground passage.
But at this point, there was no way they could reach that door — the only option was for Drake to break through forcefully.
"BANG!"
Finally, a deafening sound echoed out, like something had collapsed.
But the floor looked completely normal before Drake’s eyes, showing only the cuts he had made.
Without hesitation, Drake jumped to where the sound had come from.
The others, including Fiona, clearly heard the noise as well.
Fiona immediately lunged forward, frantically searching with her hands, and suddenly, she fell — swallowed by the "floor" itself!
The others exchanged glances, then dove in after her without hesitation!
Not long after they all disappeared, the walls closed in tightly until there wasn’t even a crack left. Then, just as quickly, they returned to normal.
The blade marks and the letters on the floor vanished without a trace as if nothing had ever happened.
The room returned to silence, patiently awaiting the next group of uninvited guests.
"Ah!"
Cries rang out — some screamed, others groaned in pain. Fiona’s group had landed in a tangled heap as they tumbled into the pit.
It was pitch black beneath the floor. They couldn’t see a thing — for the moment, all they could tell was that they were in a hole beneath the ground.
"Click!"
A small but brilliant flame lit up the space, illuminating the entire pit.
At the same time, Drake’s voice rang out, tinged with urgency:
"Alice, heal Saphen quickly!"
Everyone turned to look — Drake was covered in dust, sweat, and minor injuries from the earlier fight. His hands bore burns from channeling the wrathful power of the dragon.
Since entering the dungeon, the calmness in his eyes had vanished — now replaced by visible irritation and frustration. He looked much more like his usual self.
In his arms was a child — the boy’s face was pale, and the pungent smell of blood clung to him. It even dripped down from his hands. If they didn’t act fast, he could bleed to death.
So this child’s name is Saphen..., some of the less informed team members thought.
Alice reacted fastest. She rushed over and raised both hands near the boy — a soft, warm light immediately enveloped him, rapidly treating his wounds.
"I can heal his injuries," Alice said softly, "but his stamina and vitality won’t recover immediately."
Drake frowned. Even toward Alice, he made no exceptions:
"Heal him like you would anyone else." His tone was cold, even slightly harsh.
Startled, Alice quickly explained:
"It’s not that I don’t want to — I can’t. I don’t have the ability. I can’t heal him completely!"
It sounded ridiculous, and even Alice found her words absurd.
She could heal even Drake’s wounds, yet she couldn’t fully treat a child?
But it was true!
Luis adjusted his glasses, eyes full of curiosity and analysis as he looked at Saphen. He murmured,
"Captain... who exactly is this child?"
Drake frowned at him.
"His name is Saphen. That’s all."
[I’m starting to believe some of those theories — there’s something strange about Saphen!]
[Well, he did save all of Drake’s group.]
[No, more accurately... he stopped Drake from turning into a dragon, hahaha!]
