Chapter 151: [The Corpse Collector] (END)
Perhaps it was because it was his first time using his full power, so he couldn’t control himself, causing his body to lose too much energy. Right now, Silvanus only felt his head heavy, and each step was difficult to take.
And when Bryan vanished, the body of the monster "father" stuck to the wall suddenly showed strange changes. His swollen belly twisted non-stop, revealing visible indentations.
"Boom!"
A deafening sound rang out—the monster’s father’s body exploded on the spot, with chunks of flesh and blood splattering everywhere!
[Silvanus will want to die after getting covered in chunks of meat...]
[Just thinking about the smell is making me nauseous...]
[Silvanus is banned from getting on the bed for a day]
[Some people will take any opportunity to fantasize...]
But the scene imagined by the viewers would never happen because a figure had already leaped forward to shield Silvanus, at the same time pulling him away from the basement that had begun collapsing due to the massive corpse explosion.
Silas’s broad back was drenched in fresh blood and flesh fragments, and his white hair had become sticky and revolting. The stench was so foul that Silvanus almost covered his mouth and threw up when Silas picked him up.
One of Silas’s arms was holding Silvanus, while the other was clutching the mother monster, whose intestines had wrapped around her, along with a nearly pulverized heart. He dashed out of the collapsing basement at lightning speed!
"RUMBLE, RUMBLE, RUMBLE!"
Behind them, the underground basement collapsed with a thunderous roar, dirt and rubble crashing down from behind and the sides.
Silas was running at the fastest speed of his life—running and running without pause! Silas widened his eyes until a faint light appeared ahead, the bright red irises flashing with unprecedented determination, and he leaped forward at full speed!
But he didn’t stop there—he kept running, like the most terrifying monster in the world was right on his heels.
Behind him, the ground continued to sink. It wasn’t until Silas reached the forest’s edge that the collapse slowed. Still, how chunks of land disappeared gradually made it clear that this wasn’t over.
Water from the lake rushed in through the cracks. Before long, the area once a village with hundreds of households became a massive water-filled crater—like a death pit.
Perhaps this entire dungeon would soon become a giant lake, completely submerged!
Through his still-blurry eyes, Silvanus looked at the scene before him and came to that conclusion. Then his body shook again—it turned out that after pausing for a few seconds to survey the destruction, Silas had resumed running back toward his home in the forest.
[I think Silvanus might vomit right now...]
[His whole face is green, it’s hilarious haha]
[Silvanus must’ve completed his mission. I suddenly feel so regretful. The mechanics of this server are so unpredictable... once a character appears, they won’t show up again... does that mean I won’t ever see Silvanus again?]
[So this is it. The first and last time... I even hoped he was Nerio.]
Even though they said they suspected it, the viewers didn’t honestly believe Silvanus was Nerio. First, Nerio didn’t seem like the type to let himself suffer, and second, this server was truly... different.
[Dear God above, if Silvanus can no longer appear before me ever again, then please—at least let him die in front of me!]
Silvanus: "???"
He was honestly too confused to speak after reading that comment.
What rendered him even more speechless was the fact that there were many comments like that.
[That’s right, I suddenly remembered Silvanus’s mission isn’t over yet, he still has a pact with Silas, hahahahaha]
[Please, we’re counting on you, Silas! Turn Silvanus into the most beautiful puppet. Even in death, his eyes must retain their brilliance!]
[Yes, yes, and if the puppet-making process could be live-streamed, that would be even better!]
[Pants off!]
[I’ve got a bad feeling. Every time ID takes their pants off, they have to put them back on. Good luck, Silas!]
[The system should kick out that pants-off guy already, so indecent!]
Indecent, yes—but not as vulgar as you people who want to watch someone be turned into a puppet while still alive! Silvanus thought to himself, dead inside.
He had to admit that he was already used to this bunch of viewers with twisted personalities. They could love someone so much that they wanted to see them die. Maybe this was what people meant when they said, "If I can’t have him, then no one can."
Carrying the "blessings" of his invisible little brothers and sisters, Silas successfully brought Silvanus and the monster back to his house.
Silvanus admitted that the feeling of being completely drained just now was horrifying. He still felt a bit nauseous just remembering it. But after the crisis passed, his body recovered fairly quickly—at the very least, when Silas suddenly dropped him on the ground, he could still stand up straight, though a bit unsteady.
Without a word, Silas tossed the monster’s mother, the monster child, and the monster’s father’s heart toward Silvanus. At that moment, the system’s cold mechanical voice rang out:
[Congratulations on completing the trial dungeon. Level up successfully. Dungeon closing countdown: 59, 58, 57...]
The dungeon would close in one minute—and right then, Silas’s foul-smelling body leaned toward Silvanus.
Blood and slime dripped from his hair onto Silvanus, making him instinctively frown, his expression full of disgust.
Silas didn’t care in the slightest. He said excitedly, "We’ve gathered all the corpses. It’s time to fulfill our pact. The time has come."
His crimson-red eyes looked even redder than usual, and his pupils were so constricted they were reduced to tiny pinpoints.
Silvanus looked at Silas in that state and couldn’t help but furrow his brows a little. A ridiculous thought suddenly popped into his head: that this pathetic, worthless version of Silas was making him lose face.
But why would he lose face? He wasn’t Silas. Silas wasn’t him...
Silvanus quickly forced those pointless thoughts out of his mind the moment Silas reached his hands toward him.
Silvanus swiftly stepped back. Seeing this, Silas paused slightly, standing in place and staring directly at Silvanus. He murmured:
"...Why? Are you going to go back on your word? You’re not going to give me those eyes?"
As he spoke, a faint crimson energy began to glow around Silas’s body. At the same time, the wind suddenly picked up, and Silvanus could even feel a light tremor underfoot. The rate at which the ground sank increased—it wasn’t hard to imagine that if Silvanus broke his promise, Silas would transform into something terrifying and dangerous beyond anything seen before.
At the very least, Silvanus had no desire to witness that scene.
He just needed to stall until the countdown ended, and he could leave this place peacefully.
But faced with someone who had threatened him repeatedly, Silvanus wasn’t about to let it slide so easily.
Silas was obsessed with his eyes—jealous of them and wanting to possess them, right? Fine.
Silvanus told himself that—then suddenly smiled.
It was a gentle smile, the kind he had never shown before.
He stepped forward, closing the distance between them, and spoke slowly to calm Silas: "I always keep my promises."
Then Silvanus raised his hand and gently touched the corner of his eye.
"You want them, don’t you?"
[That smile, that look—I’ve been seduced!]
[PANTS OFF!!!!!]
Silas stared blankly at Silvanus, nodding almost by instinct.
Seeing him like that, Silvanus suddenly laughed—and then, under Silas’s stunned gaze and the disbelief of countless viewers, Silvanus brought two fingers to his eye sockets and dug out both of his eyes, hurling them to the floor with force!
Blood streamed down his face. His once-beautiful eyes were now smeared with dirt and blood. Everything fell into an eerie silence as if time itself had stopped.
Splat splat!
The wet, sickening sound of something being crushed echoed through the room—Silvanus had stomped on his own eyes, grinding them into the floor.
"No!"
Silas screamed and lunged forward, falling to his knees, trying to pick them up. But nothing was left aside from a puddle of blood and some destroyed eye matter.
He looked up, bloodshot eyes fixed on Silvanus. It was impossible to tell what he was thinking at that moment.
[I told that guy to stop taking his pants off. I knew something would go wrong!]
[Okay, Silvanus is even crazier than Nerio! Hahaha, this is great!]
[Am I the only one who thinks this scene is actually... perfect? Totally hits my vibe.]
After all, Silvanus was no different from his viewers.
Fine. If Silas wanted those eyes so severely, he would destroy them.
If they couldn’t be his, they’d belong to no one.
"Hahaha, you wanted them, didn’t you? Did you want them? I wish I could see your face right now. Do you think I’m not in pain? It hurts to gouge out my eyes, you know?!"
Silvanus threw his head back and laughed wildly like he had gone completely mad.
Then he raised his hand—an ice blade formed in his palm.
He tilted his head slightly. Blood ran in twin streams down his face, dripping to the ground.
He smiled—a smile so torn and twisted it looked like it would rip his face apart.
"What else do you want?"
As he spoke, Silvanus slowly dragged the ice blade along his pale wrist and then up to his neck—
Fresh blood spilled forth, turning him into a creature of blood.
[Why did it have to end right there?! So what happens—does Silvanus die in front of Silas?!]
[Did Silas turn him into a puppet?!]
[This damned verse!]
