Beauty's Beasts
Chapter 94: First day at school.

Chapter 94: First day at school.

Sydney kept looking at Titan and really wanted to probe but that wasn’t her place. She gulped down all her questions and followed after him.

They went back home to find Ash and the others had returned. They were in the kitchen having their meals in silence.

"Where were you?" Scott asked upon seeing her enter.

"I was at the snake castle." Sydney replied nonchalantly and found herself a seat. Ken passed her a bowl of deep fried meat and she begun to munch on it.

I see." Scott replied and looked at Titan. He cast him a look but said nothing.

"Your meal is at the back of the house." Shawn said to Titan who nodded and went to get some food.

Once he was out, Scott looked at her again. "Why’s he like that? He usually has that silly grin in his face whenever he’s with you." he commented.

We met his brother when we visited the snake castle." Sydney said plainly.

"Oh..is he now willing to acknowledge that he’s the snake king?" Ken probed. It had been weeks and Titan had refused to acknowledge his position. Not even Sydney could persuade him.

"No. We only went to ask them to bring over some of the other snakelings out there." Sydney said and Ken whose stomach was rumbling with gossip went back to his meal. "How about you guys..did anything happen when we left?" She asked.

Nothing much." Ken said and stole a look from the others. They had agreed not to say a word about this matter.

Okay." Sydney let them be even if she knew they were lying. When she accidentally bumped into Titan’s niece, it was because she was distracted by her mate’s agitation. She had wanted to go check the matter out but felt that she’d be intruding alot in their matters. She had hoped to ask them what was going on but they didn’t seem ready to share with her.

Falcon Castle.

The falcon king was still in shock after learning that Sydney had actually mated with all those five beastmen and not only was that alarming, the fact that those five seemed to have gotten stronger despite not ranking up. Their power was scary even without dueling to determine it.

He sat on his throne with a solemn expressions. "Father...why don’t you sat a word?" The Falcon prince who was a sixth rank beast asked.

I don’t know if it’s just my illusion but why do those males seem stronger?!" he muttered but his son clearly heard him.

"What do you mean?!" he asked with a frown.

Has there been any noticeable changes on that female’s males that past few weeks?" He asked.

They had been keeping a close eye on her home but nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary according to all the reports. They couldn’t get close since the eagle prince had a few guards that circled that place every now and then.

"Why are you beating yourself over this matter father? We can just test the waters and see how deep they are. If there’s any chance, we wont know without probing to see." he explained.

You are right. But we should consider the consequences of our actions. I received a warning from that female." The falcon king looked at his son.

What power does she have?! She just a female and besides, we have a good number of tribes on our side." The son reasoned but the King just grimaced.

He didn’t get it! The power was in that female’s hands at the moment. She had the strongest beastmen around her who were at her neck and call. While her scuffle was with only him, it could end up implicating the whole clan.

.......

The next morning.

Sydney had officially named the different days and Wednesday was the day they visited the herbivore clans to restock on supplies. Sydney had considered planting them herself but after engaging in matter of the beast school, she had foresaken that matter. They’d just go and get them from the herbivore beastmen. It was a little faraway and it took a while day to get to the first village. Then a whole night to return to the city of beasts. It was a whole twenty four hours!

This week’s Wednesday was Shawn’s turn to head out. It was early in the morning and Sydney had woken up to cook something for him. She also had to move out and go visit the cubs at school and she was happy she didn’t have to bore the living lights out of herself by staying at home.

Today was also the day Scott was officially moving out. His quarters had been constructed next to the school but in between the school and Snake castle. This assured of his safety during his stay.

It was therefore a very busy morning. Sydney didn’t let herself be left out.

Do you really have to do this?" Sydney wasn’t really in support of her brother moving out.

What? Can’t bare to part with me?!" Scott flattered himself making Ken roll his eyes.

Ash laughed at their antics.

That’s not what I mean!" Sydney was aggrieved and couldn’t help stomping her feet.

"Then what? You already decided you’ll be coming over to the school everyday. I also want to groom some loyal beasts so you dont have to worry." He said with a smirk and came to rub her hair. "Don’t ruffle your feathers over nothing. I’ll be just fine!" he assured her.

He knew that not everyone in the city of beasts liked them, most especially the falcons. But so what? He believed he could handle them just fine!

Sydney was still grieving over Scott moving out when she saw that eldest and youngest had also gathered their belongings.

What?! Even you guys?!!" Sydney roared in disbelief.

They looked at her shocked face and walked over.

Eldest: This place is good but the pressure isn’t good for our health!

Youngest: I have no playmates here. I’ll go live at the school too!

They really couldn’t stay here. First and foremost, they wouldn’t get a status in this home even in the next hundred years. So, instead of living here and building sand castles, it was better they moved out and besides, the school was built to cater for the likes of them. Even orange eyes had moved to the school.

Let me go with them. It’s not like you won’t get to see them." Scott coaxed her. He understood she liked them and cared for them but the rules of this place would only make life difficult if the duo remained here.

Even her mates had already discussed this matter and they all agreed.

Sydney had nothing to say about this matter. Shawn was the first to move out after having his feel. He kept the cloth on his eyes since he kept stumbling whenever he tried to use his sight. It was going to take a while to adjust.

Without more to say, he carried the skin bag and exited the city of beasts with an eagle escort.

Sydney who wasn’t ready to stay home followed after Scott and Caden helped handle his luggage as they made their way to the beast school.

By the time they got there, it was around eight in the morning and the cubs were already up. Cries of different young beasts could be heard as they descended from the top most floor of the domitory building.

Ash who could see from afar could see how cheerful the little ones were. They seemed to have had a good night’s rest. He wondered why he hadn’t thought of something like this?!

Scott didn’t let Sydney follow him to his home and asked the others to go and monitor the different beasts that were coming over to teach the young ones.

Sydney didn’t insist and came to meet the cubs. They had long grown accustomed to her scent and when they sniffed out her scent, hundreds of eyes shot to Sydney. They looked at her excitedly but didn’t pounce forward because she had very strong beastmen behind her. They were well behaved!

Wow! Sydney was taken aback by the hundreds of innocent eyes on her.

"Good morning." She greeted and they returned her greeting happily. She laughed.

Okay.. everyone of you gather and assemble according to your ages." Ash commanded and all the little ones who had learnt what those tow complicated words meant got into their lines obediently.

Even the ones that were in their teens stopped admiring Sydney and got into the lines since it was the city lord who had spoken.

"You guys already came up with how to regroup them? How about their names?" Sydney was in awe. While she had brought the idea, she had been kicked out of the process claiming it was tideous. It was all her brother’s plan and she couldn’t be more grateful.

"Yes we had to do so. Today, they’ll be going down in the register to ensure that all of them are here. There will be classes too and classes will depend on their ages. Look." he pointed at the smaller cubs. "We have to first nourish those ones before we can send them to learn hunting."

Sydney understood and nodded. What had begun as small was suddenly getting big. She gulped.
