Beauty's Beasts
Chapter 80: The following morning

Chapter 80: The following morning

The sun rose from behind the huge walls enclosing the city of beasts. Like the sun knew, it was a new era, it was slow to rise but strong.

In the city of Beasts main building, Scott groaned as he touched his stifff neck. With the help of different clans kings, he managed to combine statistics for the city of beasts. Though it was unnecessary, he really couldn’t see himself do nothing for three or more years. If he could get to take back copies of all this information back home, many wouldn’t believe him.

But again...his sister might at one point get entangled with one of these men. He didn’t wish to complicate life for her. He’d let this secret remain kept in their family lineage.

He stood up from his seat and walked over to one of the windows where he could see the city and its sunrise. Many beastmen were already up and about with their day. "I’d better head home and get better sleep " he murmured to himself and walked out of the building.

The two lion brothers who liked following him around had spent the night guarding the building and on seeing him come out, they woke up and stretched then ran off to his side.

"Good morning!" He greeted them and they nodded. He smiled with amusement. He really couldn’t grow accustomed to this. It was really entertaining.

He and the two brothers walked home in the early morning. Most beastmen had grown used to seeing Scott around and they didn’t look at him like before. But still, their interest wasn’t on him but his sister.

They didn’t know that the key to Sydney was actually her brother.

With in forty-five minutes, Scott was home but the place was shrouded in silence. None of the men could he seen around. He raised an amused brow and walked into the house.

The lion brother sprinted into the house amd picked each a piece of meat from the kitchen and then sat down to eat. After being rejected by their clan, they returned to Sydney’s side and begun to live here with her.

She had scheduled for them classes to learn from both Titan and Ash how to hunt and how to fend themselves from higher ranking beastmen. It was a really thoughtful thing and through the past month, they had learnt alot.

Scott didn’t go up the staircase. It was rare for his sister to sleep in and hence, he didn’t probe and went to his room directly.

It was afternoon when Scott woke up. He walked out of his room to the sitting room but there was still no soul in sight. He frowned and walked to the kitchen but there was still no one. There was also no sign of fire lit!

He walked up the staircase with heavy steps and looked at the door to her room with a frown. He knocked on the door and waited for a while. Ken opened the door with a distraught expression but on seeing who was at the door. He stumbled back a little bit caught himself.

"What’s going on here?!" he asked with a frown and stepped into the room. His eyes fell on his sister’s bed and saw that she was there sleeping. He sighed but frowned again. "Why’s she still not up?" he asked and assessed every single face in the room that was laced with guilt.

He felt his chest tighten and stalked over to her side. Titan who was closest stood up and made space for Scott. The first thing that caught his eye was her extremely swollen lips. They were swollen to the point that it was abnormal. He took a deep breathe and gently lifted the skin blanket on her body only to look away as he let the blanket cover her back.

He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists in anger, he didn’t even have the heart to look at any of them now. He knew the cause of those marks on her. Either she was raped by them or they had sex with her all at once, an act he had condemned for a long time and he had thought they had gotten the message clear. "Who did this?" he asked his voice laced with venom as his teeth chattered in agitation.

He cast one pained look at her and felt his stomach churn. "I’M ASKING...WHO DID THIS?!" He kept his voice low but the anger shimmered from within.

All his life, he had done his best to look out for his sister. Be it at school, home, even when she joined the army to follow after him, he pulled all possible strings to ensure she was safe and not manhandled. Lucky for her, she had the talent for it and she ranked up with the following years. But she had never been in the state she is in now.

"Are you going to speak or ... do you like it better when I do this the hard way?" he looked at each one individually. He snickered. "You had the balls to hurt my sister but aren’t ready to own up to your actions?!"

"I’m sorry." Ash apologised. He was ashamed. While it might not have looked so scary last night, the marks on her body were worrying when they came to check up on her in the morning. They were shocked and no one could blame the other.

Scott scoffed. Apologizing?! It only meant they were in cahoots. "I’m very disappointed in all of you. How could you do this? What wrong did she do for you to treat her like this? You claim to love her but don’t think twice when hurting her. You are very selfish beasts..." he was angry but more broken. Hurting for his sister and betrayed by those he had thought of as friends.

"Please get out....I’ll look after my sister myself." He felt the lump stuck in his throat refusing to leave. Looking at the culprits made him even angrier.

Ash took one last look at Sydney and walked out. While he felt extremely attached to her because of the bond, he was very ashamed.

"Shawn..get me the cream that aids with reducing swelling." he instructed
