Beauty's Beasts
Chapter 74 - 72

Chapter 74: Chapter 72

Ash remained silent as he listened on what they were planning.

He knew that time in the Beast world was different from time in their world. It shocked him the first time he returned to find that his brother had already transformed into his human form while he seemed to have become the younger brother of little white since he didn’t have a human form.

The cave had rules that even the pathway makers couldn’t dictate. The mere possiblity scared him but he calmed himself down. All the other cave pathways had closed up and only his remained but despite its existence, he couldn’t walk through it since he had used his chance.

...

Ash walked in and looked at Scott then smiled at Sydney. "Time to eat." he said and picked her up from where she sat and put him on his forearm to seat. In this position, she was perfectly aligned with his face and she could observe everything she desired.

When blessed with such an opportunity, she didn’t hold back and admired his handsome face which was clean of facial hairs and had a strong essence that could draw one in. "You are very alluring!" she said smitten.

Ash halted in his steps as a blush crept up his bronze skin.

"You have gotten really good at this huh!" Scott was speechless. She was never the kind to engage with the opposite sex and he for one time thought she’d become a nun but seeing how smooth she was at flooring these beastmen. He knew he hadn’t seen much of his own little sister yet!

Sydney remembered that her brother was present and dared not look back as she turned beet red like her own hair. He was seriously standing in her way right now!!!

They went down and had their meal which consisted of meat as usual. Sydney’s portion was diced up into bite size pieces and a bowl of fruits on the side. Shawn walked up with her glass of water and placed it on the table before he took his seat.

Scott looked at the food on his plate and was appalled. A whole thigh of meat was steaming right Infront of his face and he had no idea where to start from. There were no knives or forks. He looked at the the other men on the table and saw them eat in a wildly but neat manner. Maybe because it was in their nature, Scott feared he’d look like a starved homeless of he acted like them. He later figured out a way since no one paid attention to him.

"Is this all youve been eating all this while?" Scott asked after having his fill.

"Apparently yes. This is what every female in the city eats." Sydney explained as she chugged down a glass of water.

You need intake of other vital supplements or you’ll fall sick." he reprimanded her for being careless. They had grown up on a farm house before they moved to the city and without question, Sydney had all necessary knowledge to forge food from nature.

I planned to visit the herbivore beastmen to see what foods they have with them." Sydney explained.

Sigh .... I really can’t leave you alone! Even some people can’t be trusted to look after you better." he assessed these men once again.

We...we didn’t know about it." Caden felt ashamed as he said those words. He hadn’t taken time to ask and had just speculated based on his knowledge.

"It’s my fault. I didn’t tell them before!" Sydney explained with a guilty expression.

"Now you really make me want to beat you up." Scott jesred but his harmless threat was not taken lightly. Titan who had been silent all along angrily hissed before he could stop himself. He wanted to bite off his tongue for once.

"What’s with that attitude, Snake?!" Scott hated Titan’s attitude.

"You can’t hurt our female!" Titan intended to apologize but didn’t hold back when Scott was being harsh. There were a few natural instincts he had no control over and hissing at a threat was natural to him.

Scott sneered and raised a provoking brow ar Titan. "Do you have any idea how many snakes I’ve killed?"

"I don’t care!" Titan bit back. All that mattered to him was Sydney. Others, were NOTHING!

Sydney remained silent as if she wasn’t in the room. She really appreciated the protective nature of Titan and the others but not at the expense of disrespecting her brother. He was someone she looked up to alot and hence she didn’t interfere when he was teaching them what they ought to know. He was harsh to them...but he too had been harsh to her.

"I don’t even have to deal with you myself. But learn this ... where we come from, to get my sister as ’your female’ you need her family’s approval. You need to RESPECT and EARN positive points with me since you have only met her now, while I have watched over her as she grew and will continue to do so because she’ll always be MY little sister. So, if you fail to play your part in an honest and diligent manner, just a word from me and she’ll not hesitate to dump you. Just know, you aren’t that special to her." Scott insinuated every word with its weight.

Every word was like a jab to the five men at the table. Since in the beast world, all that mattered was the female’s approval, they had forgotten that she wasn’t from here and hadn’t know that more than just her approval was required. Seeing Sydney sat nothing meant that she agreed with what he said.

Titan chilled to bone recalling his behaviour with Scott. He stole a glance at Sydney but she did not meet his eyes. He turned away in silence and looked at the stone table. He was sorry for his rude behaviour but wouldn’t say it to anyone other than his female. Not even her brother!

"Sigh...I’m full." Sydney stood up and the others all attempted to follow her but she shook her head. "I’ll be out on my swing." she said and stepped out of the house to let the men talk.

Scott was pleased with her. She read the room pretty fast. He turned his gaze that was initially nonchalant and warm to a cold, sharp, dominering and murderous. This was who he truly was. He was sweet but only to his two little sisters and mother. The others were not deserving!

The sudden change in his demeanor shocked Ash greatly that he became guarded. Titan frowned, he hadn’t experienced such a dominering person in a while. How was this person Sydney’s brother?!

Ken who had alot to say shut up and sat straight. Not because of Scott’s position as Sydney’s brother but because, he felt the need to behave himself with this person. Not even his father had made him feel this way. What kind of beast was this person?!

Caden knew it was business time and he had a solemn look. Shawn remained his usual self.

"I hadn’t gotten the chance to thank you all for looking after my sister when she came to this place." He spoke and a silver blade like slash cut through his eyes as he sharply swept through them. "I’ll be honest. I don’t like you guys one bit! Seeing you all flock around her to pester her with your useless feelings makes my stomach churn. Along with the fact that you lack manners makes my head spin."

Ken looked at the others hoping to find. the reason when they incurred this beast’s wrath.

"In our world, a female can only be with a single man. Do you know what female’s with multiple males are termed to as? They are the lowest of the low. So, seeing you all reminds me of how you are demeaning her."

"But that’s how it is in our world!" Ken defended. Scott shot him a look that shut him up.

So, after alot of consideration, ice decided that I want my sister to have one male and I’ll be the one to choose who that will be. She might be fine with you all but I’m not. I’ll be staying in the city for a while and will only leave after I’ve chose the man for my sister." he said sternly shocking all the men.

What?! Just one!!!?

Scott stood up and straightened out his shirt then looked to all the men seeing his words sink in. He didn’t fear that they’d tell Sydney about it. "Bear in mind that...I’ll be watching." he said and walked off to go find his sweet little sister. His cold self dispitated like it never existed and all that was left was a nonchalant and calm Scott.

The breeze was cool and refreshing as it blew on Sydney’s face. She smiled as she embraced this peace. "I really love this place!" She muttered.

"I can see that much." Scott said as he took a seat next to her. "Mum would love this place if she got to see it." he said with a soft smile. His mother was an animal lover and being in such a place where beasts and people were one would be a great place to live in. He was sure she’d refuse to leave.

Haha..you are right." Sydney laughed a little. "Was everyone alright when they learnt what happened?" she asked.

Scott hit her in the head for being silly. "Alright?! do you know how sad mummy was? Dad even refused to believe that you were dead and poor Perry berry went into shock and you dare ask if they were alright?!"
