Beauty's Beasts -
Chapter 69 - 67
Chapter 69: Chapter 67
Early in the morning, Ash left home when Sydney was still asleep. The group of eagle beastmen that had left to fetch the group had returned.
By the time Sydney was awake, the sun was already high up in the sky and Ken in his wolf form still lay by her side dutifully.
Sydney groaned and turned in bed. The he’d was wide enough but Ken was stuck in her like a tattoo which pissed her off. With no regard for his emotions, she kicked him off the bed begrudgingly.
Ken was caught off guard and he let out a yelp as he tumbled and fell of the stone bed. Normally when beastmen were in their territory and more with their mate, most males tended to relax once in a while today was one of those days for Ken.
He got up from the ground with a very bitter look. Immediately, he shifted into his human form displeasure written all over his face. "What was that for!?" he was wronged.
"You were suffocating me with your fur!" Sydney accused shamelessly.
"Then you would have told me! I slept there to keep you from falling off since you were rolling all over the bed!" He explained himself. Sydney was surprised and felt a little bad. "Sorry..." she apologized but Ken wasn’t having any of it.
"It hurt when I fell you know!" he pouted.
"What do you want me to do about it?" Sydney asked with a raised brow.
"Blow on it." Ken smirked.
"Where?!" Sydney asked as she sized him up only to realise that he was stark naked.
"Pervert!!" She howled her pillow at him which made Ken laugh out loud as he let the pillow smack him square in the face.
It was midday when Sia finally managed to leave her home and go check up on Sydney. Luckily, she had already instructed her mate who came before hand to confirm if she was home.
Riding on her wolf mate’s back, they stood outside the enclosure and waited. Sydney had also been keeping a close eye on the outside and as soon as she saw Sia, she beamed and rushed out with a huge smile.
Sia who saw her run also jumped off her mate’s back and held onto the short fence in excitement. Sydney!!" She called out happily.
"Sia!" Sydney was surprised to find out that Sia actually came over to check on her. She opened the small wooden gate to let Sia in ajd the two crushed in a hug. "I was so worried about you!" Sia lamented as she sniffed. She was well aware of what kind of life a female has to undergo incase she either looses her mates or is abducted.
"I’m sorry I made you worried!" Sydney replied as she patted Sia’s back lovingly.
"Come in!" Sydney withdrew from the hug and held onto her hand dragging her inside towards the three seater swing.
The two took their seat and held onto eachother’s hands before bursting out into laughter. "How did you survive out there?" Sia was really curious. She had learnt that Sydney had been on her own since her mates left the city to look for her after she had gone missing.
Sydney told Sia how life was out there and how she survived and Sia was so fascinated to say the least.

Ash walked into the city hall where the group of fish beastmen had been gathered and waited for the other tribal kings to make their presence.
He had seen much of the fish people but this group was really formidable. There were five eight rank beastmen and the others varied between five and nine. Along with their silk hairs that shone brightly, it wasn’t wrong the call them beautiful! They had cold personalities as they didn’t say much despite coming unannounced.
The other kings also finally made their presence and all eyes were dead locked on the fish people.
"Thank you for letting us into your city!" The leader said with small smile as he scanned among the different tribe kings.
Of course we had to let you in. There’s no reason not to!" Ash replied and took his seat. That aside...the sudden visit caught us off guard and we believe there must be a reason "
Indeed City lord." the pink haired merman said .
Then...."
A weird phenomena happened a few weeks ago and we heard that a female fell into the city of beasts. We are here to see the female." he said simply.
"What’s the female from the city of beasts got to do with you from the sea?!" The fox king was the first to ask.
We only need to meet the female and we shall soon dale our leave."
State the purpose and your request shall be granted." Ash’s gaze swept between the group with an uncomfortable feeling engulfing him. He didn’t like these people’s presence here. This matter involved Sydney who was his mate!
A young male who was peculiar stepped out from the group and took off the cloak that covered his head revealing flame red hair and penetrating gray eyes toned down with a bronze skin.
This caused eyes to widen in shock as they observed this male from head to toe. Ash’s nose twitched as he smelt the familiar scent off the male despite the fishy smell of the fish people. Regardless of how one looked at the matter, there was no way one could deny that there was no familial bond between Sydney and the male.
Hello!" he spoke up, his hoarse voice reverberating in the room. It was filled with command and an iceness that could chill one’s spine.
And...you...who are you?" The lion king asked not knowing what to say.
"I’m looking for my sister and that’s why I came here. I’d like to be granted a chance to meet with the female in your city to confirm if she is the one." He said eyes locked on Ash.
"What are your intentions after finding her?" Ash asked.
"I’ll take her back home." he said dryly. There was no other reason for him to fall into some fantasy like world for nothing. He had been worried about his sister ever since she a tornado wrecked her home and she went missing.
During the search, he had come across a cave like structure where he found traces of her shoe and the diamond bracelet he had gifted her on her twentieth birthday. He didn’t hesitate and rushed in only to come to this peculiar place with peculiar people.
"She is a female of our city and has already accepted beastmen from our city...this place is already considered her home and we consider her our own."
"She did that because she didn’t have a choice, did she?! I’m here to give her that. If she wishes to stay, I wont insist but I’ll take her if she wants to return home." the red haired male stated his point without sugarcoating a thing. For as far as he knew, his little sister was a shy person who would find it hard to fit among strangers let alone these beastmen.
The tribal kings looked at Ash as this was a matter that concerned both the city’s female and his mate. All this was in his hands.

Sydney had just sent off Sia after gossiping for hours. It was only when Ken came to drag her inside to eat when she scheduled another meet up the following day.
"Mm...the soup is delicious!" Sydney marvelled at the food as she took in gulps of the soup.
"It’s fresh hippo meat. I followed the instructions and it finally came out well!" Shawn who had prepared explained.
Thank you so much Shawn" Sydney smiled and ate more. The others also joined on the meal except for Ash. Though it wasn’t their meal routine, Sydney hated eating alone which led the others to join on the table.
Caden continued to slice up the meat into pieces that Sydney could eat with ease and she kept thanking him.
Sniff..." Ash is back!" Ken said after taking a sniff of the air. He frowned when she smelt another unfamiliar scent. "He’s with someone." He added and Sydney looked up from her food. "A guest!" she looked over at the entrance to see Ash make his way in and behind him was a man
Titan flicked his tongue and frowned a little but didn’t react as he looked on.
Ash who had just entered looked over to Sydney with a solemn look. He sighed and stepped aside to reveal the guest.
Seeing who it was Sydney’s heart thumped as a gasp left her lips, the whole of her body trembled in disbelief. "Scott??"
Scott had followed the city lord in silence and after walking for a short while, he came across the familiar house design he had seen a number of times. He was ready to be disappointed but in seeing this house, he knew for sure that the person he was looking for was indeed here. As he walked in the courtyard that had a great resemblance to the one at home, a soft smile bloomed on his face but he held himself back up until he saw similar red hair and a group of men seated on the stone table eyes on her.
He shifted his gaze from the men to his sister who looked like she had seen a ghost. She called his name as she went up to her feet. He smiled.
"Hahah...I must be seeing things!" Sydney rebuked what her eyes were seeing but the person wasn’t disappearing. He kept looking at her with a soft smile.
"I see you are well and fine." Scott said with a laugh and Sydney who thought she was being delusional shot out at him like an arrow released from a bow crushing into his arms.
The four males had been left lost at the development of events but couldn’t speak out. They turned to Ash ready to question him but he shook his head at them. It was useless. He had been hoping Sydney to have no affiliation with the man named Scott but seeing her reaction, he braced himself for the worst. He signaled for them to follow him and they did so despite being unwilling to leave their female with a strange man.
"Haha...when did you become a cry baby?" Scott asked as he embraced his sister relief washing over him.
"How are you here?! Ho...how is it even possible?!!! I thought I’d never get to see any of you again! I was so scared and worried that you might think I’m dead when I’m not!"
