Chapter 53: Chapter 51 With Carlos

Carlos flew across the dense green forest with Sydney carefully held in his claws. It had been days and he was almost crazy from looking for her and luckily, he found her and she was in his arms now.

He flew off to a his secret hide hour that he hadn’t visited ever since his big brother passed on. No one alive knew this place except for him. He cut down on his speed as he prepared to land. Gently placing her on the ground, he shifted back to his human form and held the sweet smelling Sydney in his arms and walked to the mountain cave.

The entire cave was covered in cobwebs from being inhabited for too long. Carlos walked over to his small room and gently lay Sydney down on the stone bed in the room. Down on his knees, he scanned her face with infatuation in his eyes. He gently moved the unruly hairs from her face tucking them behind her ear and caressed her pink cheeks.

He took a deep breath and withdrew as the place was diary and needed some cleaning.

By the time Sydney woke up, she was again in an unfamiliar place. She didn’t panick sincs she remembered being with Eldest and the orange eyed beastman. What place was this?! she thought and got out of bed. Her has cramps were more or less regulated and didn’t hurt anymore but that didn’t the flow. It was gruesome sight!!!

Carlos who was done cooking and cleaning walked into the cave to find a wide awake Sydney seared on the bed with a helpless look.

"Oh..you are up!" he said and walked over.

Sydney was so surprised to see Carlos that she bolted to her feet. "Father!!" she called out her voice laced with excitement. Carlos winced at the title he was called by but kept his emotions at bay.

I’ll get you clean skin hides. There’s warm water for you outside. Go and wash up." He said and didn’t look at her again. He walked to the bed and took off the bloodied animal skin.

Sydney who had been confused by his tone of speech reacted a little too late. Hey...don’t touch that it’s dirty!!!" she grabbed the end of the skin to get it from Carlos.

"It’s not! Now be a good female and let go. I’ll wash them." he insisted but Sydney was not having it. How could she let her father in law wash her menstrual blood!

No..you can’t. I can wash them myself." Sydney almost teared up as her face burned up in shame.

Carlos tilted his head to the side and observed Sydney keenly. He smirked gently and wrapped and arm around her waist. Seems like you want me to help you wash as well?" like a gentleman, he came to an innocent conclusion. It was already hard for him to be in the snake space with her smelling so sweetly. When he wanted to have some breathing space and calm down to collect his mind, she was refusing to leave... hehehe.

Sydney froze when she felt Carlos’s hand wrap around her slim waist, she drew back to prevent her body from getting plastered onto his own and looked up into his eyes.

She swallowed her tongue!

Carlos had the CEO kind of demeanor around him, his features were on par with the most handsome men she had seen painted in magazine covers. How come she hadn’t taken a closer look at him all this while?! She took a deep ragged breathe and placed her hands on his chest to draw apart from him. His presence was messing with her mind.

"Mm?" he asked with a low key voice that vibrated from the depths of his chest. "Want me to wash you?" he asked the dazed Sydney once again.

"I’m Caden’s female!" Sydney rasped not liking the direction of this situation.

"I know." Carlos replied deviously with a soft smirk tilting his usually lined lips up.

"Let me go." Sydney demanded when she remembered Caden and the others.

"As I should." Carlos sighed and let Sydney go. "Now go and wash. I got you some cotton and sewed some animal skins for you."

Sydney nodded obediently and escaped from the scene. Carlos looked down at his hand that still had Sydney’s warmth, he closed it into a tight fist and cleaned the room and placed new and clean animal skins. He brought in the food and set it on the stone table. After he was done, he stepped out and left to make some room for Sydney and also calm his mind down.

By the time Carlos returned from his inspection flight, Sydney was all cleaned up and she had finished eating her food. Her complexion looked healthier and beeter in comparison to what she was before he took her from the two beasts.

"When are we returning home??" Sydney asked after waiting for hours for Carlos to return. She had stepped out and was astounded to see how high they were. She could see almost the whole forest from up here. It was beautiful but she didn’t dare wander around so she looked as far as she could and went back inside to wait.

"Tell me about how life has been the past few day." Carlos who had been curious asked as he took a seat on the ground.

"It has been adventurous. I made friends and also survived through alot." Sydney said with her gaze on the cave entrance. ’Where were the others?’

"I see." he saw the disinterested to talk about what she had been through and chose not to push it. "Rest and we shall return to the city of beasts tomorrow morning. You’ll get to meet with your mates soon." he said and stepped out. Why did she have to look so forlorn. He a butter feeling engulf him but chose to let ignore it. Itust he the exposure to her sweet scent that made him lose his mind for a while. He’d take her back to Caden and live his life like it had been before.
