Chapter 52: Chapter 50 Lion brothers meet her mates

"I won’t...I won’t tell a lie! That ... our colony leader came back with him....I mean her along with two white lions. None of us could tell he was a female and he..I mean she said she was a doctor and the colony leader was treating him..ugh...her really well! She stayed here and no one hurt her! Then, today in the morning, a sweet scent of a female in heat filled the entire colony and that’s when we learnt it was a female. By the time you came to find us, we were also looking for them since they had already run away. The lions took her." the fox beastman said all that was there to say to save himself.

"White lions you say....." Caden pondered and shifted flying into the sky. Lions of such a shade were rare to come by and those that existed were normally shunned away by their kind. He hadn’t seen any in his life so far and indeed not long after he was hovering in the sky, he spotted a white lion that was running around amok but there was no Sydney.

Youngest was in trumoil as he searched high and low for Sydney and his brother. He had reached the agreed place to meet at but they weren’t there even after waiting for a while. He grew restless. This was the first time he was away from his brother since childhood and he really hated the feeling.

Caden let out a screech and let the others know where he was. They immediately left to find the white lions.

Youngest looked up to the sky to see a huge eagle hovering around him. He knew it wasn’t a normal eagle and probably a beastman but that was the least of his concerns. He had to find his family. He let out grutal sounds as he called for his brother.

Ash and group found the white lion in a nick of time and surrounded him.

"He’s yet to gain his human form!" Ken looked at the white lion with complicated feelings. These kids had been with Sydney all this while?!

"Hey cub! Where is your brother and the female?!" Ash asked.

Youngest who was caught off guard and surrounded became guarded and most so when his brother and Sydney were put to question. They’d get nothing out of him no matter what they did.

"You don’t have to doubt us! We are her family from the city of beasts and we’ve been looking for her all this while." Ken spoke up.

Youngest looked at the group skeptically and though what they said was similar he didn’t want to take their word for it.

"Tell us where she is cub! She’s in heat right now and it’s dangerous for her to be going around in this state. Tell us where they are so we can set off to return to the city of beasts. You are welcome to the city thanks to your efforts of looking after her." Ash spoke to persuade the lion.

A lion cry rang out not from far and Eldest was seen racing over with Orange eyes. He growled at the group that was attacking his little brother and they looked at him with raised brows. It was like a cub trying it’s growl for the first time. It wasn’t scary...at all!!!

Seeing the group of high level beastmen, orange eyes was estatic. The female had been telling the truth... he’d finally leave this hell hole!

Titan who was the least patient coiled his snake tail around Eldest who had pounced forth and held him with no regard mid air.

Orange eyes skidded to a stop and felt the murderous aura that filled the air. Eldest was covered in Sydney’s blood but they didn’t have Sydney with them! Where was she?!!

[Hey let go of my brother!!!] Youngest attacked the snake but was stopped by Ken. "Don’t go seeking death! We just want to know where our female is and we will automatically let you go." he warned feeling that these two brothers didn’t deserve to die without an explanation.

Orange eyes stepped back but collided with a sturdy chest that felt like a tree. He looked back to see cold eyes locked on him. "Where is the female?!" Ash asked. He was also tired of being played. Talking to the lions will yeild close to nothing since these guys had yet to get human forms. But this one, he could talk just fine.

Trembling in fear, Orange eyes looked at the beasts around him and squeaked out the words. "She was snatched by an eagle."

"Damnit! What’s with this silly game?!! Are you taking us for fools??" Ken could barely hang on and wanted to choke someone to death.

"I swear on my life. She was snatched away when we were trying to get to the next village. But it wasn’t a stray...I can vouche for that so she won’t be harmed if we look for her as soon as possible!"

Caden took flight once again and let out a screech. He wanted to know if there’s any eagle beastman in the area but he got no signal back. He descended and looked at the others. "We shouldn’t worry now that she isn’t in the hands of strays. However, we must find her before her heat cycle ends lest that eagle beastman demands to mate with her." Caden said his piece and took flight.

Titan let go of eldest who ran to his brother to see if he was alright.

"You go wash off that blood. You won’t need to keep around. Return to the city of beasts..it’s a three days run from here and let the guards at the wall entrance know that the city lord has permitted you in. Take this." Shawn who had been silent all this while spike and handed them an animal skin with Ash’s paw print. They had drawn alot of these and they had given them to those that provided useful information as a chance to repay the debt.

[What of Sydney?!] Youngest asked. He wanted to stay and look for her too.

"We will find her. You go ahead." Ash saw the concern in the lion’s eyes and he could tell it was genuine.

[We want to come along! We promised to deliver her to the city of beasts so you can’t kick us aside like that!!]

"If elders tell you to go you must go." Ken whacked youngest on the head and turned to leave with the others paying no regard to the growl from youngest who was so angry for being hit for nothing.
