Beauty's Beasts
Chapter 201: One way ticket back to nature

Chapter 201: One way ticket back to nature

Leader?" The other beasts called their leader seeing him in a slight daze. He was a spotted wolf, most likely with the cheetah or leopard bloodline. There were also two horns on his forehead. For him to retain the clear wolf like form spoke of how strong his bloodline was.

Among spirit beasts, the more features one held, the more their bloodline was weaker. Yes they did get to enjoy some advantages but when faced with those of a much clear and purer bloodline, their disadvantages would be clear for all to see.

Don’t you feel like something is off?" He asked his eyes looking around. "Like we are being watched?" He asked again.

His followers were startled. Being watched?! Boss how’s that possible? Haven’t all the others moved away from the borderline a few months back? How could someone be on such a place?"

It is true but we can’t find fault with leader’s intuition. If he says there’s someone here then it must he the case."

Right!!! Whoever you are, you had better show yourself!!" Another said immediately. If we find you things won’t he good for you!!!" He looked around hoping to see if anyone would pop out from no where but after a while, all that was left to them was the rustling of the winds.

The leader looked around them before frowning and looking up into the trees. He felt a gaze from up there.

Come down!!" He said coldly. It’s useless to hide anymore!!!" He declared with conviction though a little puzzles since he could catch in any scents.

Sydney was surprised that this beast had actually managed to pinpoint where they exactly were. But upon seeing the confusion and unsurelity in his eyes, she smiled. They wouldn’t go down.

Chike, go up!!" The leader commanded and everyone looked up into the trees but couldn’t find anything.

Chike had a stone bloodline of apes and was most adapt to climbing such huge trees. He was huge and tall, over two meters and his body was huge covered in dirty brown furs with his monkey like face.

Check this one." The leader pointed on a specific tree and Chike climbed up immediately, his speed was fast thanks to his extra two arms. In not more than five breathes, he was already half way up the two thousand meter tree.

He continued up and in a short while, he was already at the tree Sydney had previously been on. "There’s a scent here!!!" He said to those below.

What about, is there no one?" The leader asked.

They must have escaped." Chike replied with a deep frown. With how fast he was, it was close to impossible to evade him! He was on this team because of his talents and he was looked upon by other spirit beasts with envy all the time.

He actually arrived here in time only to be welcomed by a mere scent?! Wasn’t that a challenge to him? His face grew grim and he pounded at his chest aggressively.

But before his anger could get the best of him, he suddenly calmed down as he took more time to breathe in the scent he found here.

How was it so sweet?!

Could it be a female?!

How was she smeelimg so sweet that he even forgot his anger?

When did female’s begin smelling so sweetly?!

He looked around frantically.

It’s very sensitive." Enzo asserted. They were already a few trees away from their original position.

"Let’s go." Sydney whispered. They couldn’t stay here any longer lest they exposed themselves to trouble.

They turned to continue leaving stealthily when an agonizing cry reached them.

They turned over to find the source and were shocked to see the six armed ape like spirit beast, screaming and seemingly fighting something but what was off is that they couldn’t exactly see what it was!!!!

Was it some sort of camouflage beast?

Chike!!!!!" His colleagues below heard his cry and called out alarmed. A few of them with wings spread their wings out to go see what was going on but before they were even a quarter way there, Chike came tumbling from the top of the tree, his body lifeless as she crashed against tree branches on his way.

His death was so sudden and unexpected but what was most shocking and hair raising was the fact that his body was disintergrating and before he could touch the ground, his body burst into a cloud of ashes scaring those spirit beasts into breaking off in a sprint away from the ash like substance.

Even Sydney and her group felt chills rising up their skins. They shuddered.

Such a high corrosive aptitude!!! Her mind whirled.

After Chikes’ death, his colleagues only had one thought and that was to run as far away as possible!!!

But how could they? They didn’t even know who the murderer was. If they ran off headlessly like that, won’t it be attracting their own deaths?!!!

Get together!!!" The leader shouted and they all banded up together into a small group.

Some of them were angry!! If the leader hadn’t been so nosy, they wouldn’t have fallen into such a situation!!! Now Chike had also died a meaningless death!!!!

They all looked around in alarm.

Before one could get to move, he immediately disintergrated into a pile of ash. He didn’t even have the chance to scream.

What spirit beasts?

They were scared shitless and before one could think, they had all broken to run to different directions fleeing for their lives!!!!

But of the thirty odd spirit beasts, none of them actually managed to survive.

Sydney and her group hadn’t waited to watch the show and they too were running as fast as they could.

But they hadn’t made it long when they felt the hairs on their bodies rising, a deep sense of danger surrounding them.

Ash skidded to a stop and so did the others.

At this moment, their hearts were literally punching hard against their ribcages.

They had seen the odd way some of those beasts died and it didn’t feel good at all!!!

They hadn’t thought they too would end up being targeted in the end.

According to their assessment, that thing that killed tjose spirit beasts was the one that caused the forest to become that way!!!

Even from the mere ashes, they could feel apprehensive, what of when the cause of those ashes was the one acting? Just a touch and their existence would he erased for ever!!!

Sydney looked around them but the deep sense of danger literally surrounded them and it’d be hard to determine the exact source of that danger!

Ray and the others moved to sheild Sydney immediately. Them dying was a normal thing even if they really didn’t want to but if it was for the sake of their mate, losing their lives was a thing they’d willingly accept.

Don’t be reckless!!!" Sydney said tensely.

Ash...you need to break free and take Sydney from here!!!" Carlos said solemnly. He could see the fear in her eyes, how could he pet her feel such an emotion when he was around?

Wouldn’t he come.yp as a failure even if he wasn’t her mate? What mattered was that he loved her and he’d do anything for her

Carlos no!!!!" Sydney wasn’t going to let anyone die for her!!! She had promised them so if there needs to be someone to be sacrificed, then it had to be her!!!

That sense of danger grew more intense per second and they couldn’t help the feeling of looking death in the eyes.

But before they could react, a shadow shot out , it didn’t go for any of the males present, no!

I’d shot out with an aimed direction and Sydney jisr happened to be in its line of path!

Horror filled Ash and the rests faces!!!!

Everything thing seemed to have been slowed down as they watched the danger streak over at a speed that was almost hard to catch going to their beloved.

Before they had the chance to move, that dangerous feeling smashed into Sydney throwinf her off Ash’s back.

She hit the ground.

It was over!!!

Over!!!!!

SYDNEY!!!!!" Her mates cried out running to her side but before they could, an ash gray mist enveloped the whole of Sydney’s body.

They couldn’t touch it.

Sydney let out a grunt from the fall!!!

Painful! So painful!!!

She opened her initially closed eyes to look around her and was surprised to see that she was alive.

She was actually alive!!!

She wasn’t as adapted to the high senses of beasts like her mates but one thing was for real, that murderous thing had knocked her over

However, contrast from the death she was expecting, a musky grey fog enveloped her.

Even her mates were in equal shock yet not daring to touch her. Sydney was different maybe that’s why this thing hadn’t killed her yet! As for them? No need to ask!

They didn’t touch her not because they didn’t want to, Sydney now felt like a god of death. If they touched her, it was a one way ticket back to nature
