Do you think Sydney is so fickle hearted that she’ll just accept anyone to join our family? I bet on my spot that none of these beastmen will be joining us." Kevin said looking all smug. Luckily, they had met her earlier because if that hadn’t been the case and these beastmen met her before them, then their chances of gaining a spot by her side would be nothing but a pipe dream.

Sigh...I’ll go hunt for breakfast. You guys keep a look out and don’t let those stinky beasts get close." Enzo said and stood up to leave.

Eh, where are you going Enzo?" Sydney asked when she caught him leaving all of a sudden.

I’m going to hunt. Wait for me, I’ll be back soon." He said to her softly and turned to leave.

Okay. Be careful." Sydney sent him off. She was done with washing up and all that was left was going around this small village and putting their plan into action.

When she stepped away from the stream, Sydney immediately used her hood to cover her hair and face, she could see the hungry eyes cast upon her but she wasn’t in a mood to give them her attention. She walked to Ash and he immediately carried her over. "Are you hungry?" He asked sitting her on his forearm while she wrapped her hands around his neck.

Not very. I can still wait. Let’s go around." She said and her group gathered everything to leave.

As they walked forward, a golden lion beastman stood in their way, his pair of golden like fluffy furs, and pair of red eyes locked on Sydney then back to her group of mates.

Ash came to a halt and looked at the male before him. "What?" He asked.

You and your female just arrived in our territory last night right?" He asked but his tone was clearly stating this fact that was known to everyone.

So what about it?" Ash asked lazily.

If you plan on residing in our territory, then your female has to take some of our clan’s beastmen as her mates." He stated plainly.

We have no such intention." Ash said solidly and walked past that male.

The lion beastman growled angrily. I’m still talking to you, you can’t walk past me like that!!!" He bellowed out threateningly.

I just did." Ash didn’t look back and continued to walk forward with Ray and the others following behind him. They also didn’t pay heed to that beastman. He was young despite having a high rank of seven ranks.

Sydney buried her head in Ash’s neck but cast the beastman a single look, like an enchantment bell ringing through the winds, the lion beastman was stamped and looked on as Sydney hid away her eyes from his line of sight.

No word left his mouth hence forth and could only wath as the group left.

Of course, his act of hers didn’t go unnoticed by her pair of jealous mates, but far from their emoti, they were equally dazed and followed after her wordlessly.

After walking back to the small village, Ash found a place to rest and Shawn found wood hen lit up a fire. Greg and Kevin handled constructing the shed over heir heads and by the time Enzo was back, the shed was fully built and Sydney was houses inside.

Enzo brought back a horned hippopotamus, it had been killed and cleaned. He too had sustained subtle injures. Upon arrival, he handed the prey to Shawn and Caden for cooking before he went into the small shed.

You’ve returned." Sydney called out as she cast Enzo a look. Huh..you are injured!! Come here!!" She frowned upon seeing the wounds on his body and beckoned him to go to her side.

Enzo didn’t refused and immediately went over to her side. He smiled at the worry she was showing him. I was only slightly careless. It isn’t much." He said indulgently.

Sydney shot him a glare and turned to skim through her skin bag, she brought out some dried herbs and reached for a stone bowl. She poured in clean cooked water and mixed the dried herbs to form a paste before she started to apply it on his chest where a gush cut across from his left breast to the point almost close to his heart. Even his hand had been bitten badly and teeth marks labelled all over it.

What kind of beast did you encounter?" She asked.

A horned hippo." He answered truthfully. From his understanding of her, she hated it the most when matters were kept from her. It was always enough for her to flip that he heavens would darken at her rage.

Do hippos have horns?" Sydney paused in applying the paste on him.

Those are spirit beasts." He smiled at her baffled expression.

Oh..." she continued to apply the paste to him. "Be careful!! If not you’ll be banned from going out huntig again!" She threatened.

Yes." Like an obedient child, Enzo nodded his pair of eye not leaving her even for a moment.

The scent of cooked meat wafted not long after and Shawn immediately dashed in with a stone bowl full of tender golden brown meat. He held another small stone cup where fruit juice had been freshly squeezed.

It’s ready so soon!!" Sudncalled ot surprised as she gulped so hard. Her stomach accompanied by rumbling so loudly that her face flushed red lik a ripe tomato.

Enzo was almost in tears looking at his mate’s eager look. Let me wash your hands." He offered and took he bowl with the herb paste from her hands. Helped her clean her hands before taking the food bowl for her.

Sydney swallowed her saliva and looked at Shawn. "I’ll come eat from outside with you all!!" She had grown too accustomed to eating with them that suddenly feasting on her own made food not tasty.

No. Stay here. The outside is crowded with alot of beasts." Shawn shook his head at her. Too bad he shed was small and all of them couldn’t fit inside. It was best she remained inside and not draw alot of attention than she already had. Some beastmen were the impulsive type and could do unthinkable things.

Sydney alos undersood this and settled for eating from inside. Ash finished his meal earlier and came to accompany her, this gave Enzo a chance to go out and ear something too.

As they finished dinning, a group of lion beastmen the lowest being a sixth rank beastman stepped forward. Their auras were imposing and gangster like.

They came to where Ash and his group were and looked at them. They were clearly here for a fight.

Where’s your female?" One of them asked arrogantly as he measured the one’s outside Sydney’s tent. A few of them could actually pose a threat to him.

What business do you have with our female?" Ken asked as he stood up looking squarely at the beastman.

Is that even a question? I’m here to woo her. I brought her something she will like. Ask her to come out and receive it, that way, I’ll see if she qualifies to become my mate."

As the beastman’s words fell, the whole place fell into deep silence, only the sound of harsh breathing could be heard.

With no words to be said, Ken charged forward viciously and broke into a fight with that lion beastman. No words to be said, it happened so fast that the beastman was unable to react on time. Ken first snatched the so called gift and ripped it to shreds, he threw his half transformed claws and tore the beastman’s skin immediately drawing blood.

You want to see if my mate is deserving of being your mate!" Ken spat viciously. I say, you are one that’s not deserving at all!!" He added and charged forward again.

None from his side stepped forward to stop him as they saw this male did indeed deserve a beating.

While those beastmen that had caught glimpse of Sydney nodded in agreement. They had also only seen her for a short moment but to say the least, her image couldn’t get out of their minds.

This beastman had come forward so arrogantly but who was more arrogant than a female? He even asked her to come out for him to see? Heh!!!

They too would act the same if someone dared to disrespect their mate.

Some of Sydney’s admirers were also itching to step forward and offer a good beating to these lion beastmen despite being clansmen.

Ken couldn’t be said to have the upper hand but the fact that he was holding on well against a beastman three ranks above his sent another wave of shock among the observing beastmen.
