Sydney finished packing up all that she needed and took one last look at her bedroom. Ever since Titan left the city, she had a bad premonition that something would happen to him and she had to be there to protect him.

She walked out of the room and went down the staircase with her backpack secured on her self. From the second floor, she could see her brother seated in the sitting groom with the others in argument.

She completely ignored them but that didn’t mean they hadn’t seen her.

Scott came and grabbed her hand. "You are being impulsive again!" He didn’t hold back his strength. If there was a choice, he’d have chained her to some place to prevent her from leaving.

Are you done?" Sydney looked at her brother expressionlessly. She was neither angry nor annoyed. She just wanted him to let her go.

Look..why don’t you let the others go and find him for you while you stay in the city. You aren’t a child and you know very well that things outside the city walls are not good! There was a possibility of her running into strays that had kidnapped a number of females that they were yet to rescue.

But ..." Scott wanted to speak but his words died down his throat. He had a vague picture of what happened and it just happened that only she could get close to him. He wasn’t on alert with her there and he definitely wouldn’t come back if others went to fetch him back.

Staying at her home would only get her more anxious which wouldn’t be good for her current health. Fine. You’ll go but ...how are we going to deal with your security." He said and looked at all them. The answer was clear as broad daylight that none of them intended to stay behind and wanted to follow after her. Let’s go deal with today’s lot of work." Scott said to Ash and Shawn. The trio proceeded to leave the house impatiently.

Ash had insisted that he’d go but that would depend on the situation and rising duties on his table.

Two days went by in a flash and Sydney stood at the city gate watching the sun rise. Caden had sent out a group of eagle beastmen to track Titan down but there was no sign of him. This news firher worried her so much and the worsening situation of the mate mark made her feel like cutting off her neck. The flame like feeling was really uncomfortable, coupled with the change in season. She’d drench in sweat even after walking for a short while. This dry season of theirs was as bad as a desert even during the first days.

Is the dry season always this bad?" She asked Ray who had accompanied her for the past days.

It is but some time not. I didn’t think it’d be this bad...I had calculated it to come after the first month of the dry season." Ray’s voice was solemn. He looked back at the city of beasts and hoped things wouldn’t be as had as his gut feeling told him.

There was a slight commotion outside the city gates and Sydney walked to the side and observed what was going on.

Ray sniffed and smirked. It’s a group of rhinos." He said and Sydney felt her interest was piqued. She leaned forward to get a close look and hear the loud stamped from them. Are they in their beast forms?" She asked.

Ray didn’t say much and led her to the city walls. The group of gorilla warriors were used to her and didn’t say anything. Actually, they made way for them to go and see.

Outside the city wall, the grey rhinos were approximately one hundred plus and the number of females riding on their backs were as little as ten. They even had three female cubs and a few young rhinos could be seen under the protection of their parents. Their arrangement was eye catching and many of the beastmen that had camped outside the city wall couldn’t help but come over to look.

One of the rhino’s shifted into his Human form and stood before the city wall with his huge frame and serious and hard look. "My River rhino clan greets the city lord!" He spoke but his voice reverberated throughout the area and into manys hearts.

The gorilla head guard, Kayi walked over and looked at the group that had just arrived. "Commander Kayi, on behalf of the city lord receives your greetings. May I know what the River rhino clan is here for?" Commander Kayi asked despite knowing exactly why they had traversed the continent to their city.

"I’m sure Commander Kayi is aware of the happenings in the continent. Our clan comes to seek refuge from the city of beasts. My name is Rhinda." He introduced himself after stating his purpose.

Sydney watched the exchange and couldn’t help sighing. If they had come in the last two days, things wouldn’t have been this big but now....there was no more entry into the city as it was already packed up.
