Ray walked into the house after washing his feet and drying them. It was like that in the past and Sydney’s current mates also washed themselves before entering.

Ash and Titan noticed this and frowned. This Ray guys seemed to know their home like it was his own! Even his actions!! Who was he? Did he kinda know Sydney from somewhere?! They were filled with questions.

Scott also chose to stay behind and listen to what was going on.

Ray walked into the house and looked around in a daze. The location was different but the design was the same. Memories flooded his mind and his eyes begun to glisten with a little tears. But he had been through a lot and didn’t let himself get too emotional. This was all too good to be true but so what?! It was true anyway!

He walked over and found himself a seat.

Ken rolled his eyes and went to the kitchen to get some jerky to grind his teeth on. He was livid but could do nothing!

So..who are you?" Titan asked as he carefully drew Sydney over into his arms.

My name is Raymond but I’ve been called Ray over the years!" Ray spoke eyes locked on Sydney. She too was looking at him!

He was much better looking than at the time she found him, his blue eyes were very vibrant and full of life and his lips were a bright pink. She couldn’t help her eyes drawing over to them.

Ray was pleased! He nearly puffed his chest if not for Ash and Titan’s glares!

"And what’s your purpose?" Caden asked.

"I’m here to find my mate." He didn’t lie.

Shawn nearly stuffed his tail inside Ray’s mouth!

"Who is your mate?" Sydney asked curiously. She wanted to see the female who was so lucky to have such a good looking male!

Although all men in this world were breathtaking, there were those that simply stole your soul away! Ray was that kind. Her mate’s were also very good looking and she didn’t dare wander admiring other males but she couldn’t help herself!

Ray was different and she kinda felt a liking to him.

"She...she is the most beautiful female in all lifetimes!" he said eyes locked on Sydney.

’That felt like a Mystery!’ Sydney thought.

"Is she in this city? What’s her name? I can help you find her!" Sydney volunteered. It was sad that he was already taken but anyway, what could she do!

Hahaha!" Ray was extremely amused. "I already found her though! thanks for your help." He flattered her.If only she knew she was the ONE.

Scott looked at the male befor him and felt something. This guy had not taken his eyes off of Sydney since earlier, actually, her reflection was bright in his eyes and he looked extremely sated. Did he really have a female or was Sydney his target?! He traced his eyes over Ray’s patterns and sighed once more. What was with his sister attracting extremely troublesome men!

Would they be able to run back home with such high grade beasts on their tails? He sighed once more.

"What? Are you dying?" Sydney asked after not being able to endure her brother’s endless sighs.

Scott sighed and shook his head. He had nothing to say in his defence.

Ray who has been ogling Sydney all this while finally made room for the others and he looked at Scott who had similar features to Sydney though more masculine! He tilted his head to side and blinked curiously.

Scott saw this and frowned. ’Whatcha looking at!’ He raised a brow questioningly.

"Are you a He-Sydney?" Ray couldn’t help asking.

"He- what!?" Scott pursed his lips. Sydney was the She-scott. He was her elder brother!

"Alright. please don’t fight." Ash interrupted the almost heating talk. They all looked at him. "So, why did you kill that female and all her mates?" Ash asked.

"They are a threat! Threats must be eliminated!" Ray said as a matter of fact.

Shawn nodded. His opinion was the same.

"What do you stand to gain?" Caden asked.

"If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you are trying to impress our female! But too bad for you! She did not see your performance so all was for nothing!" Ken said smugly.

Ray looked at Ken and wanted to snap the little idiots neck. But he, as a grown man who even had children with Sydney wouldn’t argue with a cub. He looked at Caden then at Ash and Titan. "Fun."

Hearing that one word, Sydney didn’t know what to feel.

"And besides, what kind of men are you if your mate is going to be the one doing the dirty work while you hurdle up behind her?" Ray asked looking at them in a disregarding manner.

None of Sydney’s five males took that nicely. Sydney saw it!

"I told them to let me handle it." She defended her mates.

"And they let that group threaten you." Ray looked back at her. "Sydney, what’s their use if you have to head to the front line yourself? Do you really have to stand as a sheild for them? Stop pampering them too much, work them to the bones, that’s the best they can do for you as their female." Ray pointed out.

He knew she always took the frontier in battles concerning her family and it had taken them a great effort to make her rely on them. They died for her and none of those that died regretted the choices they took then!!

Scott looked at his sister. Even someone who had just come to the city could see it.

While not many dared to gossip about it, the rumour of Sydney being her mates’ sheild was all around the city. Yes, she was the head of the family but even took on the role of fighting and protecting. It was a beautiful sight but her males suffered the back lash of such talks. Their pride was ripped at!

Sydney listened to Rays words and lowered her head. What could she say. Her mates had tried to say the same thing but she had brushed them off!

"I’ll go out and clean away the blood." Ray spoke and stood to exit the house.

Outside the fence were still some beastmen who were looking around. When they saw Ray come out, they all scurried away from his sight. He ignored that and walked to the back of the house and towards the store. That’s where the big water storage buckets were usually kept.

Titan who had excused himself kept a close eyes on Ray and found out that this male was very familiar with their home. If he didn’t know any better, he’d think Ray had been living with them for the past few weeks.

Ray reached the store and pushed the wooden door open. He walked in and found that a large number of the stone basins were empty. He frowned!

Was Shawn stupid or dense! Didn’t he know that soon, they’d be a drought? He hissed and walked in with the sound of his steps leaving dents where he passed.

He carried out a stone basin and walked back to the entrance of their home. He gathered the pieces of meat of the ground and placed them into he stone bowl. It took him a while and after collecting everything, he walked out to go and dispose off these dead bodies. He couldn’t leave them out in the open as they could cause diseases. He had to dig a ditch and bury them! However, he lacked his beast form and also didn’t have a hoe! His forehead muscles tightened!

He walked to the back of the snake tribe. He wanted to ask Hamp for help but realized that Titan had been following him.

He smirked! At least someone wanted to be useful!

Once he was in the dense forest where even the rays of the sun found it difficult to penetrate, he stopped and turned to Titan. "Help me dig a ditch." He smiled politely.

"On one condition." Titan had already wanted to find means of probing more from this guy.

"What condition?" Ray was intrigued.

"You give me an honest answer to my questions." Titan said.

"It’ll be one." Ray replied. Sydney had taught him alot!

Fine." Titan didn’t complicate things and fully shifted into his beast form. He dug through the ground like one would punch a whole in cotton candy.

Ray knew Titan was a snake beast but not this big. He looked at the shiny golden body and almost drooled.

Sydney had successfully corrupted them! So he knew the value of such glittery things!

Titan finished his end of the bargain and shifted back into his human form. Ray’s eyes were attracted by Titan’s pride. He couldn’t help looking at his own and shook his head! Too bad he wasn’t born a snake beastman. He only had one!

Titan ignored Ray’s looking at him but felt a sense of pride.

"So what’s your question?" Ray asked as he picked up the big buckets and pouring the pieces of shredded beastmen into the ditch.

"What kind of beastman are you and what do you know about Sydney?!" Titan asked.

"Hey, I said one!" Ray frowned.

"Do they look like two?" Titan hissed back. He was smart okay!!

"Fine. First, I don’t have a beast and second, Sydney is someone I’ve known for so long even if she doesn’t remember!" Ray found no reason to lie since he’d be sticking by Sydney’s side like glue! He’d be going no where!
