Chapter 108: Déjà vu

It was ’Ken the great’ that saved them.

As the group waited outside patiently, Ken pushed the doors to their home open and stretched as he basked in the morning sun. He was nonchalant to the tee and the snakes on the ground didn’t even dare bite at him. They instead slithered out if his way in alarm!

Too poisonous!!!

They ran off.

The scene left not only the different kings outside but even various beastmen who were out to watch in disbelief and admiration!

Seeing this, the Wolf king was smug like he owned the world. "Son!" he called out to Ken. Let me show you how to choose households in the future! His son was domineering.

Ken paused at the call and looked over with a frown. Why did he come out!? Damnit!

"Excuse me..please let me through!" Scott arrived at his sister’s home after learning what was going on. His concern was whether she was okay but he didn’t expect to find a thick will of beastmen. He literally had to squeeze through and though many were angry at being pushed at, once they saw who he was, they kicked away their displeasure and let him through.

By then time he made it to the entrance of his sister’s home, he was drenched in sweat! He didn’t bother wiping it and reached for the small gate. The white headed snakes bared their fangs at him making him frown.

Scott drew the door open and walked into the yard. The snakes slithered away. Too, too poisonous!!!!

The snakes made way for him till he was before Ken. "Good morning! How’s my sister?" he asked.

"She’s fine. Still sleeping!" Ken was polite. He had already exposed Scott and he needed to find means to mend his actions. He really didn’t want to offend the big guy!

Scott heaved a sigh of relief and turned to go back to his home. "Scott!" the falcon king called.

Scott paused and looked over. "Yes? How may I help you?" Scott asked. That was the only reason they dared to talk to him. They needed something from him. He wasn’t a stingy guy and he’d definitely help if it was within his means.

"We’d like to talk to your sister! Please ask her over!" The falcon king’s speech was polite and all his arrogance had been sealed away.

Scott looked at Ken for help. He had also just dropped by and didn’t know if Sydney was awake or still asleep.

"You’ve been waiting since last night! Wait some more!" Ken arrogantly pointed out making even his father gasp in disbelief. This damn boy!!!

Sydney was in the kitchen eating her early breakfast. Caden had briefed him on what happened and she understood. She was the one who kidnapped that female away and this was her matter to settle.

That was the reason none of her mates meddled in it.

She walked through the sitting room to the door. Titan who knew what blanketed his mate’s courtyard helped push the door open after letting out a hiss.

The direction of the sunrise was directed at Sydney’s home and the moment she opened up, the light was a little blinding. She used her hand to block the sun and through the gaps of her fingers, she saw the horde outside her home.

Her countance turned serious.

Scott looked at his sister after learning from Ken what actually happened. He knew of this matter but it wasn’t in such depth.

She wrapped her hands over her chest and walked forward ignoring the snakes on the ground.

The whole place enveloped in silence once Sydney stood at the other side of her fence and over looked the group that was at her door step again.

City lord’s Female! You kidnapped our female, return her immediately!" one of the warriors from the bear clan couldn’t hold back anymore.

Sydney lazily shot the guy a look that chilled his spine. His hairs stood on end.

Titan was once again amused. She had used his essence to suppress a male.

Her eyes shifted once again and they fell on Carlos. He was a king after all and part of the city council! If he was called upon, he had to be there.

"Good morning father!" She greeted him with a smile.

"Good morning. I apologize for disturbing you early in the morning." Carlos said so on behalf of other kings.

"It’s fine. I was expecting them." She replied gently creating an illusias if she hadn’t just threatened a male a few seconds ago.

"So, Falcon king...we meet again!" Sydney exclaimed as she raised her eyebrows at him.

"I’m not here to fight! I’m only here to take back my female that you took." He cleared his throat and spoke.

I thought I had made myself clear that night. You sent your clansmen to attack mine and I understood that it was an inevitable thing since the request was made by your mate. This matter would have been settled with a mere duel but you know what your Female did and said. This is our matter now." She explained keep her eyes locked on the group before her.

The falcon king could I let grit his teeth. While he had managed to gather his mates’ other males for a common cause of rescuing their mate, he hadn’t been elaborate why this matter had escalated to this point.

The other kings looked at the falcon king for an explanation.

The falcon king felt himself shrink under the gazes of beasts both higher ranking than him and those of lower ranks. "I told you that night that males fight every now and then. It’s ..it’s inevitable! It was clearly a duel, a challenge of sorts. There was no killing intent!" He did his best not to stutter and give himself away.

"Besides, it it was really a murder attempt, wouldn’t Caden be the best target? What would my clan gain from attacking a disabled male? Huh?!" After formulating the first excuse, the rest seemed to flow out smoothly.

Many beasts thought it logical. What would they gain from attacking to kill Shawn? It was probably a duel since they had an advantage over him since he was blind. There was nothing wrong with that!

Titan felt like laughing. This guy knew how to weave his way through hell but could he make it past the devil’s lare?

Sydney held her head in helplessness. You are sure you only intended to duel and not kill?" She sneered. "Oh right...I remember you saying there was no evidence hence no one will believe a word I say?"

The falcon king gritted his teeth. He had indeed said those words but so what? He wasn’t wrong! He had been merely tasting the waters, who knew his warriors would seek joy in eliminating Shawn! He was a disabled male but he got to sit with the big bosses of the city. Who wouldn’t be infuriated?! He shifted his eyes to Ash! That kid was supposed to be in the same boat as them! His mate had relentlessly pursued Ash but he had not only shamed her, he also rejected her.

Next was Ash’s female! She had stolen Titan from him! Everything he had painstakingly worked for was snatched by them! He could agree to that but not at the cost of lossing his female! She was smart and would definitely take him to big places someday!

Ray followed after Hamp till they arrived at Sydney’s home. The place was crowded!!

"What is going on?!" he asked no one in particular but someone close answered.

"The city lord’s Female kidnapped the falcon king’s female. It’s the first thing such a thing has happened! Normally, it’s strays that kidnap females!"

"And?" Ray asked impatiently. What king of lousy female’s did Sydney have that she had to take matters into her own hands?

"Oh!" the poor guy was surprised to learn that this male was a ninth rank beastman. " The falcon king came to confront them. I’ve also just come. I don’t know much!" he explained and ran off. Nothing good came out of mingling with the big boys!

Falcon king?! A sense of deja vu hit Ray. He only hoped he was only over thinking but it wasn’t wrong to confirm.

He pushed his way forward!

When he was fighting under Ash before, they had one enemy that they didn’t realize till it was too late for them!

The falcon clan!

That group had colluded with Zery and hurt the whole of the beast world!

Even when Sydney died, it was as a result of the Falcon Clan.

He remembered clearly that year when she helped an injured falcon and brought him home. Who knew the bastard would play tricks and melt her already soft heart! She allowed him to join her family as the eighth mate!

If not for Senard and Dravi, they wouldn’t have know that that falcon was planted by their enemy who not only wanted Sydney dead but also wisjsd to crumble the City lord’s household.

He, Senard and Dravi had to kill that falcon and keep this matter away from her. They suffered seeing her cry from her loss but their hearts were of stone as they’d go to all lengths to eliminate any threats from her path!
