Chapter 97: Reunion

"Iria don’t leave me!" Prescott’s heart-shattering voice resounded in the night forest scaring other animals residing in it.

He slumped on the ground and looked as the portal closed with Killian entering in the end. His throat burned with bubbling emotions and anger which broke his heart, "She left me" he muttered "Just like past, she once again chose Theodore" then he glared at Gregory who stood frozen in his place "What are you going to do now bastard!? I told you to not trust that panther. I lost her because of you!"

Gregory blinked back his tears and turned towards Prescott, "She is alive and well and that is what matters the most. Snatching her away again is not a big deal"

Prescott narrowed his eyes hearing his words, "Is it really that easy? One of him was enough to trick us both into handing Iria over, then do you believe it would be easy to pass all of them and reach Iria?"

"But Iria trusts me, you also know that," Gregory said but he was losing his confidence as time passed.

Prescott snickered at him, "Do you think it will be the same after getting to know the truth about her abduction? She may be meek and kind but we crossed our lines by deceiving her" he smiled sadly as he continued, "She always hated me, but I guess it is now your turn"

Gregory glared at him "Stop mopping around and get up! We have so many works to do, now that our beloved is awake" he smirked eerily and looked at a distance, "Let us go to the eagle tribe"

"Eagle tribe?" he asked not understanding the sudden decision about going to the eagle tried, moreover it was Theodore’s old tribe.

He nodded his head, "Shouldn’t we as good in law’s inform Lyra’s true mate from the prophecy about the fake taking his place in her heart?"

Then it flashed to Prescott, he smiled and got up from the ground, "Indeed, how can we just let his right full place taken away? Oh! did that panther just steal her away from Kyrell!?"

Gregory suppressed his laugh hearing Prescott’s exaggerated words. He was seething inside because of that black panther’s deception. Because of him, his beloved was once again in that Theodore’s arms, wasn’t that panther showing off his magic powers? Let him show it in front of Kyrell. Although he was not sure about Kyrell’s hidden power, it must be something remarkable for the old eagle king to show interest.

Agreeing with that scheme, Gregory used all of his witch power to break the barrier around them and left to the eagle tribe with Prescott.

Lyra and Noah were taking a leisure walk inside the rose garden when a bright red light flashed in the middle of the roses.

Noah pulled her towards his back and took a fighting stance. But Lyra smiled recognizing the familiar ambiance from the light "Killian?" after the awakening of her fairy powers, it was easier for her to distinguish someone’s power.

Shortly after that, Theodore came out of the portal holding Iria in his arms. He frowned looking at his sides which were covered in thorny roses bush, so he lifted Iria to prevent her from getting pricked.

Lyra and Noah on the other side froze in their place seeing them, especially the woman in Theodore’s arms. Following that, Killian came out of the portal and beamed at Lyra, "My treasure!" his joyful voice brought Lyra out of her thoughts.

Her heart started thumping looking at his handsome face. She sprinted towards him not caring about her surroundings.

Killian too grinned and stepped forward and hugged her waist. kissing the side of her head, he whined like a spoilt child, "I missed you..."

Likewise, Lyra clasped her hands around his neck. Enjoying his warmth, she whispered, "I missed you too"

As they were lost in their worlds, Theodore and Iria glanced at Noah. He understood their gaze and replied "They are always like that" he had to admit that he felt jealous saying that. It was the first time for him to see soulmates in the beast world. Males had far more affection for females than the other way in the beast world, but Killian and Lyra felt the same about each other no matter how much time they spent together, she even forgot about her mother.

"Baby dove?" he couldn’t help calling because Iria was looking at Lyra with tear-filled eyes.

Lyra released her hold on Killian’s neck and turned around. Seeing Noah’s eye direction, she looked at Theodore and Iria. Widening her eyes she strode towards them, "Is she....?" she was not able to complete her words as Iria engulfed her with a hug.

She crumbled as she heard her mother’s anguish filled voice, "Baby....my baby"

Iria felt her mind going numb the moment she looked at Lyra. How could she not recognize her baby? Her daughter was only an infant when she was separated from her but her heart knew with certainty that the beautiful young girl in front of her was her daughter.

She was surprised at first seeing her hug an unknown man, but she took that time to observe the girl. She looked just like her, No! she was far prettier than her. Same golden locks as her own and Theo’s gorgeous blue eyes, she felt bitter thinking about not being able to see her grow up becoming such a fine lady.

While Lyra was shocked as her mother hugged her. She pulled back and stared at the similar face as her own, the woman looked like her but was slightly older than her, perhaps in her late twenties, and it felt bizarre to have such a young mother. Understanding her look, Iria chuckled and replied, "I consumed soul crystal eighteen years ago"

"Oh," Lyra nodded her head. Then frowned, if her mother didn’t age then she must be have been in her late twenties when she consumed the crystal, similarly would she also not age at all? What about her height? Would she stop growing? She was eighteen!

She stopped her thoughts when she heard Killian voice, "Enough of that" he whined, "I was not able to see you for so many days, spend some time with me"

Lyra frowned at his clinginess but soon felt that something was wrong with him. His face looked unusually pale and sickly. She turned towards her mother and said, "Get inside and take some rest mom, I’ll come and see you in an hour"

Her mother smiled and went towards Theodore, "Take your time dear"

Lyra smiled and went towards Killian. Cupping his cheeks she frowned, "Are you fine Killian?"

Killian shook his head as he started walking inside the castle with Lyra, "I used too much of my life force to put your mother’s soul back into her body. I’m just exhausted"

"Wh-what force?" she asked back stuttering.

He pecked her lips and leaned against her, "I’m alright love, staying with you will heal me faster"

"How?"

"You are my soulmate, being near you is enough for me to regain my powers"

Lyra blinked her eyes and rushed towards her room, "Then I’m not leaving you until you recover"

Killian grinned and nodded his head. His plan worked.
