Chapter 76: Truth and Lies

After sorting out his thoughts, Gregory went to meet Iria. He reached the stone cave where she was residing with Theodore and halted his steps when he saw Theodore inside the cave. He thought it was not optimal for him to talk to her in front of Theodore and left the place.

Then he walked towards the shore and turned into a merman entering the sea. Swimming inside the blue ocean, he soon reached the wave city. Entering inside the castle he went towards Olivia’s chamber and knocked on the door, "Come in" came her reply to which he slightly opened the door entering inside.

"I need your help," he said as soon he caught a glimpse of her.

Olivia chuckled "That was fast, what help do you want from me?"

Gregory sat on the stone chair "Can you please bring Iria here? I want to talk to her"

Olivia blinked her eyes and ignored it "Theodore will kill me if he finds out"

"Please Olivia" he pleaded making Olivia frown.

"What will you even talk to her? She is in a hurry to accept Theodore, let her be" she said grinding her teeth.

Gregory fretted in his place "That is what I want to talk, she is rushing into this matter like someone who is being chased"

"What do you mean by that?" she asked raising her brows

Gregory clicked his tongue "You will not understand even if I explain, just bring Iria here"

Olivia glared at him "Are you indirectly calling me dumb?"

"Olivia....." he dragged her name in a desperate voice making her sigh "Okay, don’t whine, I will bring her"

Gregory beamed at her and returned to the island. The next day, Olivia went to the cave where Iria was residing "Iria, I’m here"

Iria looked out of the cave and smiled faintly "Come in Olivia" seeing her hesitate she informed "It’s fine, Theodore is not inside right now"

Olivia sighed in relief and entered the cave, and sat on the ground "Iria can you come with me to wave city? Everyone there is missing you"

Iria bit her lower lip and anxiously replied "Theodore will not allow that, he will get mad"

Olivia frowned "Why are you so scared of him? You are a female Iria, show your authority and keep him in his place" she paused looking at her friend’s hesitating face, and continued "Did you mate with him?"

"We mated yesterday" Iria answered

Olivia held Iria’s hand "Are you truly okay with this Iria, do you actually, like him?"

Iria smiled "I know what you are thinking and I have to admit the truth that I’m indeed intimidated by Theodore. But after spending more time with him, I came to realize that he is not so bad or cruel. He just doesn’t have someone by his side who can love him and tell him what is right, he is like a wounded beast Olivia, and I want to stay with him and bring him out of that sadness"

Olivia frowned "Are you sure about this? I know that you are kind, but it does not mean that you have to take responsibility for everyone and show kindness"

"I want to do this for myself and Theodore" Iria answered resolutely "I was once like that, alone and frightened of losing someone dear to me, and I know how painful it can get. Being an orphan I have been through so much in that world and if I can become someone’s safe home here, then I don’t mind being that"

Olivia pouted "You are too soft"

Iria patted Olivia’s shoulder "Give him a chance Olivia, he is not as bad as he portrays, he is just a big baby"

Olivia wore a disgusted face "Don’t say such weird things about Theodore, I’m getting goosebumps"

Iria grinned and hugged her "I’m glad to have a friend like you. I can share all of my worries and happiness with you"

Olivia smiled and hugged her in return "I feel the same".That is when Olivia forgot about the purpose of her visit to Iria’s place, she also made up her mind to not speak anymore about Gregory.

After talking to Iria, Olivia concluded that it was bad to decide about Iria’s life even if she was her friend. Speaking to her she learned that Iria truly loved Theodore and it was not some decision taken out on a whim. But the thing that was bugging her more was about Gregory, she knew that he loved Iria so much, she just hoped that Gregory would take the rejection positively.

Thinking that, she went back to wave city and as soon as she stepped inside the castle, Gregory hurried towards her with anticipating eyes "Did you bring Iria?" his eyes darted around "Where is she?"

Olivia sighed tiredly "Gregory I talked with Iria, I think she really, likes Theodore"

"Don’t talk nonsense" he dismissed her claim

She observed his face and opened her mouth "Give her up before it is too late, She already mated with Theodore"

Gregory’s pupils shook hearing her words "They mated?"

She nodded her head "Iria said that she loves him and I don’t think you have any more place in their life" she paused seeing Gregory’s pained expression, "I’m sorry"

Gregory’s eyes filled with tears, he felt his heart shatter.

PRESENT

Gregory opened his closed eyes revealing his bloodshot ones. He smiled sadly recalling the past. Even till now, he felt his heart clench every time he remembered those memories. He looked down at the one who caused that much pain and also the one who could heal that pain just with her mere presence in his life "My Iria" he said and caressed her face "Will you at least choose me this time when you wake up?"

He hugged her motionless body "I don’t care even if you hate me once you wake up, but I will never hand you over to Theodore once again. You are mine"

As he said those words, his eyes which reflected those heavy emotions were filled with madness. He never wanted to do the same mistake as he did in past. She forgave Theodore when he kidnapped her, so she will also forgive me after all this. His mind refused to think otherwise, as for Theodore and his daughter, he would make sure to kill them.

Meanwhile, in the beast city, Lyra woke up from her sleep with a headache "Ah, it hurts" she said as she groaned holding her forehead.

Killian opened his eyes groggily as he sensed her stirring in his arms "Are you alright love?"

Lyra looked up from her place into Killian’s Auburn orbs in confusion. Then she remembered the events that took place in the living room. She frowned remembering her sudden outburst. It was unlike her to act on impulse without thinking through the matter. she knew that Blake would never lie in such important topics, but her anger got the best out of her.

Killian gazed at her in silence as she was trying to comprehend the situation "What’s wrong love?"

Lyra came out of her daze hearing his voice "I was just thinking something, I’m fine"

Killian frowned "You don’t have to force yourself to accept everything. Just let it be"

Lyra chuckled and pinched his nose, earning a glare from him "This is a significant matter of my real identity, how can I just let it go?" then she continued as she snuggled into his chest "It is just that, I find all of this new things overwhelming. I need more time"

"You have all the time in the world" he commented as he kissed her forehead.

She nodded her head "Hmm, but before that, I want to meet a doctor"

"Are you hurt anywhere?" Killian asked worriedly

"I may be pregnant," she said casually making him gasp.
