Chapter 220: Our room

[Scorpion tribe]

The scorpion guards patrolling around their tribe became alert as soon as they sensed a familiar ambiance arriving towards them. One of the guards left his post and entered the castle to inform the king about their prince’s arrival.

’’Your highness’’ the guards near the entrance respectfully bowed as Demir strode inside his tribe while Lyra was still buried in his chest.

The beastmen curiously peeked at the female in their prince’s arms with twinkling gazes. They were obviously relieved as it seemed like their prince had finally found his beloved.

When Demir reached the castle, he caught sight of his father standing regally at the entrance together with the tribe elders. He briefly informed his mate about their presence before putting her down on the ground. Then he helped her in straightening her long skirt receiving a soft ’Thank you’ from her. Following that, a gentle smile bloomed on his face making everyone excluding Lyra freeze. They were yet again surprised by their prince’s change of behavior in front of his beloved.

Whereas, the scorpion king had a satisfied smile on his face as he gazed at his son and daughter-in-law. It bought him so much comfort knowing that his son was in safe hands unlike himself....he lightly shook his head trying to erase the negative thoughts.

’’Your majesty’’ Lyra greeted the scorpion king gaining his attention.

The latter smiled at her before turning toward his son, ’’Take your mate inside and let her rest. We can discuss everything else later’’ then he glanced at the tribe elders who were curiously looking at their tribe’s supposed queen, well future queen in this case because the current scorpion king’s mate was still alive and more importantly, they did not find their prince’s mating mark on the female’s body unless it was covered by her clothing.

’’Let’s leave’’ the scorpion king’s voice boomed inside the castle bringing the elders out of their thoughts. With thier prince’s menacing glare accompanied by the king’s urging, they left Lyra and Demir on thier own.

And as soon as they left, Demir clasped Lyra’s hand into his own before walking towards his room. As they continued to walk, Lyra started to roam her eyes around the castle. The scorpion castle was very different from the rose castle. Unlike the latter, this had a single floor and the overall castle was vast with en number of rooms and space. They had to walk for a certain distance until reaching Demir’s chamber.

’’Your place is huge.....’’ She couldn’t help but voice out as she looked at Demir’s room.....No, it was more like his own little castle. She was still looking around in awe when she felt a small nibble on her earlobe and heard, ’’Say it properly, sunshine. It’s not my place but ’Our’ place’’

Lyra giggled before turning to him, ’’Yes, our place is huge’’

Demir smiled contently hearing her words. Then he dragged her to show her his chamber. Sleeping quarters, bathhouse, training place, and at last, "This here is my favorite place inside the tribe" Lyra looked at the said place and found a mini garden filled with many kinds of plants and herbs. The place looked like it was very well taken care of, "Here I practice different kinds of venom and try to find their antidotes. As a poison-type beastman, this place brings me joy"

"I can see" Lyra commented as she could see his face literally beaming while looking at the poisonous plants. But a gentle smile formed on her lips as he dragged her from that place saying that it was not safe for her to stay there for a long time.

When they reached back to his sleeping room, Demir briefly left her alone informing her that he would bring something for her to eat. Lyra was also relieved to hear that because she had completely forgotten the last time she had a decent meal.

It didn’t take long before he returned holding a meat soup and some salad.

He placed them on the table nearby before asking, "I asked the kitchen to prepare something easy to digest. Is this okay or should I bring something else?"

"This is enough," she said while picking up a wooden spoon and started to slurp the soup. Demir continued to stare at her as she resumed drinking.

"What?" she asked with a frown. He was looking at her with a deep gaze filled with longing.

Demir sighed before parting his lips, "I’m just wondering if this is a dream"

"What is?"

"You" he answered, "You being here with me in my room feels like a dream to me" he always wanted to bring her here to his tribe to meet his tribesmen. To let her see the place where she would be the future queen. His queen.

Lyra chuckled upon hearing his words and then leaned forward before pinching his nose, "It’s not a dream, dummy. I’m really here with you in your...no our room"

Demir wrinkled his nose as she pinched it nose and when she tried to pull her finger back, he bit it earning a yelp from her.

"You rogue!" Lyra yelled while glaring at him.

Demir laughed, "Yes I’m a rogue. Your rogue"

"No, you’re not mine"

"But I’m yours though," Demir said while giving her a suggestive smile making her glare even more intense. And when it looked disadvantageous for him, Demir quickly apologized while sitting by her side, "Sorry, sunshine. Stop pouting, I’ll not tease you anymore"

Lyra squinted her eyes at him feigning anger and turned away from him, "What a great lover I have. I just returned from a scary forest and he is teasing me"

And as soon as she mentioned that, Demir remembered to ask the most important question, "I was meaning to ask this. How did you leave the fox tribe? Who took you to that forest? And how did you come across the fox king?"

"Easy there, sweetie" Lyra uttered getting overwhelmed by his horde of queries, "One question at a time but i"ll answer it while I eat though. I’m hungry"

"Oh sorry, sunshine" Demir quickly apologized and picked up the soul-filled bowl from the table. Then he filled the wooden spoon before stretching it toward her, "Here"

Lyra smiled and leaned to peck his lips before she started to give an account of everything that happend after she went missing during the banquet. Demir attentively listened to her while making sure that she was eating.

She told him about fairy bane, Kaizer, the fox king finding her, and everything that had occurred.
