Chapter 143: Its alright

"What happend to her!?" Demir repeated in a threateningly low voice when Noah didn’t answer his previous question.

Due to his panic, Noah failed to notice the seeping beast pressure from Demir and staggered falling on his knees due to difficulty in breathing.

Demir clenched his fists and his eyes turned into vertical slits, "Talk before I kill you! What happend to my sunshine!?"

Meanwhile, the scorpion king who felt his son’s oppressive beast pressure reached upstairs. His eyes widened when he saw the lion tribe’s prince on the ground and his son glaring at him with anger filled gaze, "Demir stop!"

He rushed towards them but froze when he too felt affected by his son’s beast pressure, "Demir! Get hold of yourself!"

Demir didn’t even glance at his father. His gaze was fully on Noah, "You must have a death wish" his anger increased the more Noah remained silent.

Noah looked up at Demir with difficulty. ’This bastard!’ He felt like cursing out loud. How could he talk when he was being oppressed by the beast’s pressure? He was not even able to move a step, much less talk.

"Release your beast pressure for him to talk brat!" The scorpion king’s voice rang inside the silent castle bringing Demir out of his haze.

He looked at his father’s seething face and realized that he was releasing his beast pressure unknowingly. Demir quickly released Noah from his oppression and sighed, "Are you alright?"

Demir felt awkward facing Noah. More than anything else, he was scared about how his sunshine would react if she heard about this. She hated when they fought against themselves and Demir was thinking about ideas to keep Noah’s silence.

On the other hand, Noah got up from the ground as he recovered, "I came here for Darcio" he decided to tell his purpose before Demir would lose his patience once again.

Demir came out of his thoughts and parted his lips to speak but his father beat him to it.

The scorpion king too relaxed from the oppressive beast pressure and asked in confusion, "Why do you want to meet Darcio?"

Noah’s face turned grim remembering his mate’s current condition, "Lyra is going into labor and I want Darcio to examine her"

Demir went blank hearing his words. He was not an expert, but Demir for sure knew that today was not Lyra’s due date to give birth. He even made sure to keep a count after learning about her pregnancy and all his estimations asserted that today was not the day.

Whereas, the scorpion king didn’t know about this and quickly became worried, "Is that so? Then you should take Darcio with you as soon as possible" he beckoned to the guard who was standing down the stairs and said, "Go and bring Darcio here, tell that I called him"

"Father, wait," Demir said stopping his over-enthusiastic father. Then he darted his gaze back to Noah, "Today is not yet her due date right?"

Noah nodded grimly, "My mother informed me that it is a premature labor"

Demir’s pupils shook, "You...do you even know what it means? Don’t talk nonsense"

"I’m telling the truth," Noah said. He too was in denial in the beginning but soon understood that nothing can change the truth and he should face it rather than avoiding.

"You....." Demir opened his mouth to say something but his father stopped him, "Demir, now is not that time to argue" he then once again looked at the guard, "Ask Darcio to come here as soon as possible" seeing him still in his place, he bellowed, "Go!"

"Ye-yes your majesty" the guard scurried away after seeing the king’s fierce face.

The scorpion king then strode toward his son and held his shoulder, "Keep your temper in check. Fighting amongst yourselves will not get you anywhere. Your female’s safety is more important now...GOT IT?"

"Yes, father" Demir replied and glanced at Noah, "Let’s get going, Darcio will follow us later"

He couldn’t wait any longer. Demir felt like he would go crazy if he didn’t see his sunshine soon.

Together they left the scorpion tribe and headed toward the lion tribe.

"Is sunshine in the lion tribe?" Demir asked in confusion because he didn’t yet know about Lyra moving out of the rose castle.

Noah glanced at him, "Yes, she moved in just today"

"Are others also in there?"

"No"

Demir halted his steps, "Then did you at least inform them about her going into labor?"

Noah furrowed his brows, "I forgot" because of the rush, he completely forgot about informing others about Lyra.

Demir looked at him in disbelief, "You really must have a death wish" it was not an exaggeration. Blake, Killian, and Victor would not hesitate to beat up Noah if they heard about Lyra’s condition.

He sighed, "Make sure to send someone to inform them as soon as possible"

"I’ll do that" Noah said and they continued walking and soon reached the lion tribe.

The guards glanced at Demir warily but didn’t dare to stop him because they felt a higher beastman’s aura from him and he was also accompanying their prince so they relaxed.

Noah’s mother was still inside the room beside Lyra when Demir and Noah entered.

She looked at her son with an inquiry as Demir hurried toward Lyra, "What is the prince of the scorpion tribe doing here?"

"He likes Lyra," Noah said but didn’t explain any further. They decided to not discuss the prophecy with too many people, so this was an acceptable answer.

"Is that so...?" She murmured to herself. Now she understood why bringing the sage from the scorpion tribe was easy.

Demir settled on the edge of the bed and stared at his beloved’s sleeping face.

He held her hand and Lyra snapped opened her eyes.

Demir was startled, "Sorry, I woke you up"

Lyra’s face relaxed hearing a familiar voice. She got up from the bed with Demir’s support, "It’s okay, I’m not sleepy anymore" she was just flustered when she felt someone touching her but after seeing Demir’s face she calmed down.

"When did you come?" She asked but Demir remained silent and stared at her with a grim face.

Lyra blinked her eyes, "Is something wrong?"

"Sunshine..." He called and she nodded encouraging him to continue, "They said that you might go into labor today"

"Who?"

"Noah and his mother"

Contrary to his worry, Lyra was calm, "I was feeling strange today...So that was the reason"

She gently smiled at him, "I’ll be alright, this is not my first-time giving birth"

Demir embraced her and buried his face in the crook of her neck, "Still, they said that your current pregnancy is more complicated than the previous one"

Lyra caressed his head, "I’m really okay" she too felt nervous learning about early labor but stressing about it would only lead to more complications and nothing else. So she forced herself to remain calm because now that Demir was here, she guessed that her other mates would also be here sooner or later.

And they would definitely panic and she just hoped that they would not start quarreling with each other.

The guard beastman sent by Noah soon reached the rose castle and saw Theodore and Iria in the garden. After informing them about Lyra, he left.

Iria and Theodore glanced at each other feeling troubled. They entered the castle and saw Lucas coming out of the kitchen.

Iria held Theodore’s arm, "I’ll tell him"

Lucas raised his brows in confusion but widened his eyes when he heard Iria’s next words, "Lyra is going into labor"

He rushed out of that place and after that Iria informed both Victor and Killian. Those two too hurriedly left the castle.

"Only Blake doesn’t know" Theodore commented. He was not yet back from the snake tribe and it made them worried.

"You stay here and bring him with you, I’ll leave to lion tribe with Gary"

"Hmm" Theodore nodded and Iria went to her room to get Garrison.
